World Championship Wrestling presents Thunder 1-13-2000 From: Erie, PA
Mike Tenay and Bobby Heenan welcome everyone to this edition of WCW Thunder.
- Tenay hypes up the action. Which includes Randy Savage competing later tonight.
- Heenan brings up Mike Awesome competing tonight. He can’t wait to witness him live.
- Tenay briefly hypes up Sting and Benoit teaming up to face Kevin Nash and Jeff Jarrett.
- Tenay also mentions that Scott Hall will be in action later tonight before heading to the ring.
Dean Malenko defeated Shane Helms in 6:08- Helms didn’t go down without a fight. Helms took Malenko down with a hammerlock Russian leg sweep and managed to nearly get a win following a missile dropkick.
- However, Malenko was too much. Malenko nailed Helms with a spinning heel kick, and followed by nailing a double under hook power bomb.
- Malenko quickly locked in the Texas Cloverleaf for the win.

Gene is standing in the ring and calls out the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Bret Hart.
- Gene brings up the revelation that Vince Russo appears to have ordered Roddy Piper to end the match abruptly at Starrcade.
- Hart says that it’s the same crap, just in a different promotion. Obviously he brings up Survivor Series 1997 and how Vince McMahon screwed him over their.
- Now Hart is made out to be the bad guy. He claims to have no idea about the finish and that he was surprised just as everyone else.
- He does mention however that he knows if the match wasn’t flawed he would have defeated Goldberg in the center of the ring. Because he is “the best their was the best there is and the best there ever will be”.
- Gene brings up Super Brawl and Caged Heat. Hart believes that Goldberg will not have any excuses when he loses to Bret. Bret will prove to the world that Bill Goldberg is not on his level.
- Bret says he will not lose to Goldberg. He simply will not allow it.
- Hart walks off as Gene hypes up Goldberg/Hart in one month time.

Mike Awesome w/Jimmy Hart defeated Disco Inferno in 4:47 - Awesome dominated the contest. Inferno did manage to take Awesome off his feet with a swinging neck breaker, but literally for only a second.
- Inferno went to the middle turnbuckle and attempted a double axe handle. Awesome caught him and connected with a overhead belly to belly suplex.
- Awesome Bomb followed by a Awesome Splash for the Awesome win.

Gene is backstage with Sting.
- Gene brings up the issues Sting has had with Kevin Nash in recent weeks. Sting says he doesn’t respect Nash for his actions.
- Sting once considered Nash a friend but he has taken the competition portion of wrestling and thrown it out of the window.
- Sting believes Nash is trying to take guys out so that he can be on the top of the mountain and he will not sit here and let that happen.
- Sting issues a challenge to Kevin Nash for WCW Souled Out one on one.
- “That is if you can make it following our tag match tonight”.
- Sting with “It’s show time” before heading out of camera view.

Konnan defeated Mark Jindrak in 6:29- Jindrak uses his power early on to slam Konnan down with a military press slam.
- Konnan manages to come back with a rolling thunder lariat. Jindrak attempts a power bomb but Konnan nails him with a sit-out face buster.
- Konnan locks in the Tequila Sunrise for the submission win.

Bam-Bam Bigelow is in the cafeteria eating when a familiar face sits down next to him.
- CHRIS CANDIDO, slides in next to the big man and brings up how Bigelow has been losing matches recently.
- Bigelow acknowledges this and says he is in a funk. Candido suggests they “go old school” and this brings a smile to his face.
- Bigelow says “well, we need one more guy.”
- Candido says, “I’m already on it.”

Perry Saturn defeated Big Vito in 3:05- Saturn rushes Vito early on delivering several mafia kicks and several variations of suplex’s.
- Vito stumbles around and walks right into the Death Valley Driver. Saturn picks up a rather impressive win.

Scott Hall defeated Shawn Stasiak in 5:49- Stasiak actually managed to get a good amount of offense in, taking Hall down with a nice snap power slam.
- Stasiak with a Samoan Drop and goes to the top turnbuckle. Stasiak leaps off but misses a big splash.
- Hall nails Stasiak with a one arm choke slam. Hall doesn’t go for the cover and nails Outsiders Edge for the win.

- Goldberg doesn’t want to talk about Hart, his focus on Piper.
- Goldberg has one thing in mind, and that is end to Piper once and for all.
- “I don’t care about winning at Souled Out, oh no, I care about making Piper suffer and making him wish he was dead. You screw with me, you screw with your well being.”
- Goldberg finishes off by saying “Roddy Piper, YOUR NEXT!”.

Randy Savage defeated Sean O’Haire in 5:04 - Sean uses his speed and agility early on to control Savage. O’Haire nails Savage with a nice super kick and nearly picks up a huge upset.
- Savage avoids a splash in the corner and spikes Sean with a pile driver. O’Haire stumbles to his feet and is taken back down with a double axe handle.
- Top rope flying elbow drop by Savage to pick up the win.
- Savage decides to work on O’Haire after the match. All of a sudden Hulk Hogan comes down with his belt and begins to deliver some shots to Savage’s back.
- Hogan sends Savage into the ropes and rams the belt into Savage’s throat. Savage bails and heads to the back as Hogan waves his belt in the air while taunting Savage.

Sting/Chris Benoit defeated Kevin Nash/Jeff Jarrett in 13:08- Sting and Nash go at it on the floor while Benoit delivers several chops and boots on Jarrett in the ring.
- Nash sends Sting hard into the ring post and enters the ring to attack Benoit.
- Jarrett manages to nail Benoit with a clothesline to the back of the head as Nash is working on him.
- Jarrett with a delayed vertical suplex. Jarrett sends Benoit into Nash who takes Benoit down with a side walk slam for a near fall.
- Sting eventually enters the ring and cleans house taking Nash down with a clothesline and dropkicking him to the floor.
- Sting with a cross body from the top to the floor onto Nash!
- In the ring, Jarrett signals for the end on Benoit, but Benoit reverses into a German suplex and quickly locks in the crippler cross face.
- After a brief moment, Jarrett taps out.
- Benoit has just made the WCW United States Champion tap out!
- Sting and Benoit celebrate, but Nash grabs a microphone.
- Nash says he heard Sting’s challenge and if Sting wants a fight he will get one at Souled Out.
- Sting is rather happy about that and taunts Nash and Jarrett as the show fades.
