Recently I've been watching alot of WCW towards the end of the company. I never really got to see much of it or Vampiro in particular. I have to say he was a phenominal talent who was not booked properly at all. He had a series of matches with Kidman that were amazing. Missy Hyatt wrote a review of XPW's Cold Day in Hell DVD which featured a match between Kaos & Vampiro. In the review she stated WCW really dropped the ball with Vampiro in '99. I couldn't agree more. Any other thoughts on this & Vampiro as a worker in general? Also, anyone know where I could find more of his stuff? Not that much on You TUBE IMO.

I'm just telling you, don't watch his stuff with Sting. I've seen it already & I echo those sentiments. I know they teamed him with ICP & stuff but Vampiro against EG, Rey, & Kidman was good too. Those four wrestle the same style.

jericho calls vampiro out for being a dick in his book, so i kind of tread toward that.

vampiro is a pretty self-destructive fellow. i know i wouldn't want to put considerable effort into him if i had a promotion.
still, he was over as hell and wcw did atleast try to put him over.
he's a great wrestler..a lot of his best work lies in mexico

He really is a great talent. Most wouldn't know it from seeing WCW.
WCW had a way of putting bad wrestlers on top, though:
Hogan, Luger, DDP, Scott Steiner...
Then the even lower tier:
Jay Leno, Karl Malone, David Arquette, Vince Russo

I don't think I ever saw him go over in a match. He seemed to be a perennial jobber.

No problem. Also, when you are searching, search for "Vampiro Casanova" because he used to go by that. You will get more specific results.

He had a great look & for a while was ridiculously over in mexico & seemed destined to repeat that in WCW. However I just don't think he had the in-ring ability or charisma to match up with the guys who were already established US stars. I think the lack of a stronger push really hurt him but many interviews & rumours indicate he was a very untrustworthy guy backstage with a lot of heat.

Watch the program he did with Kidman. The lack of push killed him. The other stuff about him contributed to it I'm sure. There was a movie made about him in which Norman Smiley said with all the bridges he's burned that it's amazing he's still able to make money in this business.

I'm not saying he couldn't wrestle but personally I found him very hit & miss, either quality or very sloppy.
