i dont even have to see it to say its a fake... simply because, barely ANY exist and even then you need to know 100% history. Meaning the seller needs to be known by collectors worldwide and lets be honest, not many of these world renound sellers will be selling a moon kamala.. will they?
Just presume, unless its from one of the big wigs on here (or refered by one of the big wigs on here), that its fake, its safer for your wallet.

i understand what you are saying foxeth but just beacuse one of the big wigs on here doesnt know the seller doesnt mean its fake, dont get me wrong it probly is a custom and i certainly would not buy it i already have a better looking custom made by myself, but the big wigs on here or collectors worldwide do not know where every kamala with moon or mailaway or prototype or error card in the world is, so yes the chances are its probly not real but thats because there were only 24 in existance, not because the seller is unknown to the big wig collectors.

sorry dude but i beg to differ.
I for one would NEVER buy a figure of that magnitude and price without knowing who the seller is, the entire history of the figure and why they are selling it. If the most well known, long time reputable traders (some of which come on here) dont know the seller, and its the sellers word (and the sellers word only), then why would you want to risk it?
If your argument is 'because no one knows where they all are', then yeah go for it, but please, always expect it to be fake.. UNLESS someone with a positive collecting reputation whom is highly regarded in the hasbro collecting world can vouch for that seller, then i PERSONALLY would not even fart in that figures general direction.
FARRRR to many scam artists in the hasbro world to trust someone selling a MOC moon kamala on ebay... ebay, i mean c'mon. Seriously, 2009 and people are still trying to sell 'moon' kamalas on ebay.

as i said mate, it probly is a fake, that wasnt being disputed. i was saying is maybe the big wigs dont know everything that there is to know, yes it is 2009 and ive been collecting since 1990, i have a huge collection but only joined this site a few months ago. maybe there are peole who keep to themselves and have a far better collection than the big wigs on here but dont want to bother with this or any other site. whose to say there isnt lots more that we havent uncoverd about the hasbro line. once again, i dont believe the kamala is real. by the way great debate.

its all good mate, just a case of the 'real ones' going for a hell of a lot of money, far to many 'fake ones' being thrown around the net. Like you, i have been collecting (somewhat since 91ish) got in to actually 'collecting' around 96. Anyone who has a moon kamala MOC, 16 years ish after its release, knows what they have, simple as that, if they dont, it wouldnt be MOC anymore. Anyone who tries to sell one on ebay, SHOULD know that in order to get what its worth, you need to be very in-depth and have legitimate history (and proof if possible) of the origin's of the figure. Surely if its the real deal, why would this be an issue, after all, you trying to make thousands from it. A half arsed ebay page trying to sell a MOC moon Kamala just doesnt cut the mustard, ya know. And also, im not in doubt that you have collected for years, nor am i in doubt that many more hasbro mysteries more be yet unturned, but in fairness, people who have been circulating the net for a long time, and have been legitimised as trust worthy, hoest and reliable collectors, are most certainly the people to speak to. As for .. I appreciate what your saying and i know there will be some of those people, we're not debating the fact that some collectors dont sign in to forums...., but, if your trying to sell something as desirable as a 'moon' Kamala, and no one has heard of you, no one knows that you are a proven collector, no one has seen you and your collection, why the hell would we trust you enough to fork out 1000's of dollars? (im not going to drop names, but compared to other 'serious collectors' who share their hobby) and people can vouch for their authenticity... i know if i were looking for a moon kamala, who i would speak to first and who i would get advice from. Were not talking about a blk/wht yokozuna figure, were talking about an item worth thousands of notes. Again dude, this isnt a dig at you, its a case of me as a long time collector, warning anyone who wants to buy a moon Kamala, use your head before you do so. We had a thread on here a while back about fake/bootleg ebay sellers, waring people about them and making sure people had a heads up before being duped. 90% of the items were hasbro, and guess which figure tipped the bill every time..... correct. Him and old 'yellow boots' dusty. I fuking hate scammers, so excuse me for being somewhat involved in this thread, again dude, non of its aimed at you

i know your not having a dig mate, and i appreiciate that you are warning others about scammers, hey i ing hate them too, all too often do you see ebay listings of varients and test shots which you can tell are customs. it wouldnt bother me much if they were listed as customs instead of the real thing {thats another story}. im glad you and others feel strongly about stuff like this, and as far as this thread goes well i definitely see you point and im glad you see mine too. as i said before, great debate and thanks

What a brilliant website!? I'm just so glad I found this and there are so many people out there that share my passion for WWF Hasbros...
Just looked at ebay and some poor person has bid £200 for it - a very expensive custom! Damn....it was my daughter when I was logged on.... not really! ;-)
It's the old saying if something seems too good to be true then it probably isn't...so if it's listed for £200 or whatever the starting price was then it probably isn't.
It's listed at £200....with a "guide" price of £2,500-£3,000 so why so cheap!? If it was real I'd list it for a lot more!
I may invest in a red mailaway Hogan if I see one soon...but then I don't think I have the cash!

what a great litle debate, we all hate scammers thats a fact and when i saw that someone had bid on but then i had a thought what if it's just the seller putting a bid in to generate more interest or "legitamise" the sale?

you know how you know a real Moon Kamala (and in all my time, I've only ever seen one) from a fake one? there's a sticker on the back. A rather sizeable sticker. Says it's not a production piece, and it's just a mock up for inside of Hasbro. Unless they have that sticker (and any fake will not have that sticker) then it's fake. If it's real, I'd think that sticker would have multiple pictures in the auction or where ever they are selling it.
