Thank you, Philadelphia! Thank you for a great season, good times and bad. Thank you for giving me baseball to care about this late into the year for the 2nd straight year. Unfortunately, we came up a little short this year. We got ours last year, can't win them all. Looking forward to 2010.
Congrats to the Yankees. I'm not gonna be a sore loser, and bash the Yankees for winning it. We got there, and didn't play well enough to get the job done. Therefore, the opposing team wins the title, that happened to be the Yankees this year. We'll just gather ourselves, pick up the pieces, and get ready for 2010.

Yeah Lorenzo is going to have to retire from the boards until the first spring training game, he cant bitch and moan.
I cant wait for his 5 paragraph long response to this game on how they earned it and how he knew it would happen etc.

Just glad the Phillies didn't win it. Also nice to see A-Rod get a ring, and play well in the post season, so hopefully I never have to hear that story again.

Congrats to yankees. As a Dodgers fan, I have some sort of a grudge against the Phillies so I'm happy to see the Yanks win. But since I am Korean, I kind of wanted Chan Ho to win a ring.

props to the Phillies though...they made a helluva series. Utley was amazing, Lee was nasty, and they definitley put up more of a fight than any other team would. The 2009 Phillies deserve respect & deserve to be among baseball's elite
I can't believe I actually predicted something right. I said Yanks in 6, never thought it would really happen.
Its so much sweeter when a team wins at home too. This was the PERFECT ending to a PERFECT 2009 baseball season. I'm off to finish watching the post game and get some sleep.
27 moments of greatness.

Congrats Yankees and the true fans(not the front runners), you guys deserved it
As for the Phillies, what a year! I didn't really expect them to win back to back, that would exceed even the biggest fans expectations, but they had a hell of a good run at it. Beyond the bullpen troubles, beyond the ups and downs, they made it this far again. This is the best team this franchise and fansbase has ever seen and it makes me damn proud to say I'm a Phillies fan. Let's make it this far and maybe we can win it again in 2010! Harry would be damn proud of this team and so am I!
In other news, boy am I sad to see the baseball season end. It was a long season, especially with the tragic deaths and steroid allegations, but boy was it memorable.

Yankees were by far the best team in the playoffs, no arguing that, but every team they played made so many mistakes, or was just flat out awful when it came to playing NY. Maybe the Yankees had some vodoo crap too but Charlie Manuel turned into Grady Little right there in NY, like 6 years ago all over again.

I just want to say how happy I am. It's been tough these last 9 years and I'm a fanatic to the point of it being a very unhealthy obsession. The Yankees, and winning the World Series is all I think about all day everyday and it's really taken a toll on me and I've taken losses very tough in the past. It's nice to sort of be able to mentally relax (for a little while anyway, lol).
I want to congratulate the Phillies on a great season, they have a lot to to be proud of. They played us tough every game and none of these games were laughers or blow outs, and they were in it until the very end. If they had hit a home run in the 7th inning of Marte it would have been a 1 run game. The Phillies are a great team, they play great baseball and their fans are just as devoted and love the game of baseball just as much as us.
I know I'm not a player or on the team, but even for me it's just the greatest feeling in the world even as a fan to put your heart and soul into something and live and die with every win or loss for 6 months and actually have it all actually happen the way you dream about every night. This is all I've wanted for 9 years, and like I said, I'm just really happy and it's just such a relief to be able to mentally relax and not be worrying about it every single day.
