Does anyone have any word on the Teahen deal? For some odd reason; everyone's story keeps changing.

Finally, the offseason is here. No word yet on if the Teahen deal is offical. If it is, then that's another deal the Mets missed out on. Speaking of missed deals, Jeremy Hermida gets sent to the Red Sox. Could that mean no Jason Bay?

It would be extremely kona if yankees get holliday or lackey or both. It wouldn't surprise me if they got both. Damon and Matsui are not both coming back. You know Girardi would've loved to have had a 4th starter in the playoffs. If you have a rotation of CC/Lackey/Pettitte/Burnett, it doesn't really matter who your 5th starter is as long as he's halfway decent.

Reasons why I want Lowell not to get traded this off season:
Since 2006, Lowell has hit 73 doubles and 44 HR at Fenway.
Ortiz since 2003 has hit: 99 Doubles, and 49 HR
Youk Since 2004 has hit 91 doubles, 47 HR --- Granted I know he is getting older but last year alone he hit .307, 12 HR, 20 doubles, and 45 RBI in 53 games at fenway.

I think the Yankees would be foolish to let Matsui go, and I'll tell you why.
He's proven that WHEN HE'S HEALTHY he is still one of the best clutch hitters in the game, and he absolutely demolishes left handed pitching.
Now people keep talking about "where's Matsui going to play? Damon and Posada are going to need games at DH!"
That's fine. Play Damon and Posada at DH and sit Matsui when you have to. People talk about how the thing that saved Matsui's season was NOT playing during inter league so he got a chance to rest his knees. The more often you sit him the BETTER he becomes. I'd sign him for 1 year with a club option for a 2nd year and I would just be real careful with how I used him and made sure I got him enough rest so that WHEN I do use him I make sure it counts.

Jeremy Hermida needed a change of scenery, I love the move but Lorenzo is right, not to replace Bay unless you get a Fielder or a Gonzalez type elsewhere.
A team like the Cubs or some other team that could play him and let him mature the right way.
I like him as a replacement for Drew in 2011, not 2010

Former Huskies pitching star Tim Lincecum was cited for marijuana possession after a traffic stop in Vancouver, Wash., on Friday, according to a report by The Columbian.
According to the story, The San Francisco Giants ace and Cy Young Award winner was stopped for going 74 mph in a 60 mph zone in the Hazel Dell area. A state trooper said he smelled marijuana when Lincecum rolled his window down. Lincecum allegedly handed over about 3.3 grams of pot and a small pipe. The Columbian story said 3.3 grams is considered enough for personal use.
The former Liberty High standout was cited and released. He is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 23 in Clark County District Court.
Read the full story from the Columbian here.

I like him as a replacement for Drew in 2011, not 2010 You need 40/120 coming from somewhere else if they let Bay walk....and you can afford to have Hermida as the everyday LF if you get Prince Fielder. That would require dealing Lowell and moving Youkilis to 3rd, but it would be the best move for the team.

I dont think the Yankees need to let Damon OR Matsui go. For christ's sake they just won the WORLD SERIES with those guys playing. Sign em both for 3 year deals and let them finish out their careers in pinstripes. They both will produce.
If anything, the Yankees need another starting pitcher. Who knows what Wang will be like next year and he might not even be pitching until mid-summer. I say they should just go after another high level starter and be done with it. You can't just say "Oh well Damon is old and he might get hurt so why sign him?" That philosophy SUCKS

Just because you win the World Series does not mean that you can cripple your team for 3 years because you feel "loyalty"....Damon had a contract year and Matsui would be fine for 3 years...as strictly a DH...which he wont be if you sign Damon and Matsui. Ummmm sure you can say "He might get hurt, lets pass on him" Thats how you are supposed to do it, objectively! Your philosophy sucks...common sense blinding loyalty to guys who can only play 1 position and one of them coming off major injuries. The Yankees need to get younger in the OF...having Damon/Matsui/Swisher is a recipe for disaster. Red Sox werent loyal to Pedro and Lowe etc, and they won the World Series 2 years later because they didnt get locked into long term deals because THEY JUST WON THE WORLD SERIES!!

We can't be sentimental to the point where we handcuff ourselves and make it impossible to win for years to come. One of the reasons the Red Sox were able to win again in 2007 is because they did NOT keep the same team as 2004. The Yankees should have realized when it was time for Bernie to go, and Carlos Beltran really should have been our center fielder. I think if we sign Damon for 2 and Matsui for 1 with an option that we could get away with it. 3 guaranteed years for both would be a disaster.
