"fasion" would probably be some kind of intergalactic plasma used to melt steel. "fashion" is what I meant to type but apparently missed the h.

JJ Hardy traded to the Twins for Carlos Gomez.
Lots of my fellow Reds fans wanted Hardy. So much for that.

The singing of God Bless America really raised an eyebrow for me...
Anyone notice that the yankees were 3/3 the three seasons before they had Ronan Tynan singing his obnoxious 12 minute long version, and he was touted as a "good luck charm" the past 8 years... and the year they s**tcan him, they win it again... my magic joe girardi binder tells me that is a 1.000 batting average without his lame ass.
The Ronan Tynan curse is over.

I love all the moves happening already, should be a sign of things to come this offseason. Every team, even the Yankees and Phillies have moves they need to make.

holy crap i thought it was over but it started up again...i'm getting a friggin headache
i can't hate on Sterling, when he calls a game everything aside from his cornball catchphrases is great. he's a homer (as he should be), he's baseball-wise and never really says anything too stupid. the guy has got a great "radio voice" no one can deny that.
getting to listen to 90% of the games all season, they just wouldn't be the same without the guy. its all my opinion and i know im in low company...but whatever. sue me.

Myers is out. I can't imagine he'll have a lot of value on the market since he was injured this year, but we'll see.
Phils picked up the option on Lee. (Shocker.) Getting a guy like him for $9 mil is a bargain, especially seeing how good he was in the playoffs.
I don't see them picking the option for Feliz. I think the Phils will look to see if they can get a better 3b for less than $5.5 mil in the free agent market.

JJ Hardy traded to the Twins for Carlos Gomez. Lots of my fellow Reds fans wanted Hardy. So much for that. Great trade for both sides. The Twins have a great infield now with Hardy, Casilla, Morneau, and Crede if they resign him, which would be the smart move. DBacks pick up Webb's option. A little suprised.

I'm surprised too, considering Webb said he did NOT want an extension because he didn't want to pitch there anymore....so my picking up the option they are basically forcing a guy to pitch there who doesn't want to be there....he'll likely have an iffy year if he's as unhappy as he seems.

Its not really a surprise, they can pick it up and trade him or continue to work out an extension once they see if hes healthy.

I'd love for the Yankees to sign John Lackey. The Yankees got through the Playoffs with 3 starters, but you need 5 in the regular season, and more with injuries and things that happen.
Chien-Ming Wang isn't going to be back until July/August at the earliest. And there is no guarantee that Andy Pettitte comes back. I have a feeling he might pull a Mike Mussina who retired off 20 wins. I think Andy will call it quits and retire off a Championship because really, if he comes back and they don't win next year his last taste of baseball will be having failed. I hope he comes back though because he's clearly got a lot left in the tank.
I think the Yankees will keep only ONE of Joba or Hughes in the rotation. I don't think you can afford to have BOTH Joba and Hughes as starters and completely empty out the pen.
At this point I would be leaning toward keeping Joba in the pen, but if we put Hughes in the rotation he would face the same innings limitations that Joba did this year and I don't think anybody wants to play that game again. So I'm not sure what we do.
My idea rotation for 2010 would be:
CC Sabathia A.J. Burnett John Lackey Andy Pettitte Phil Hughes
