I thought the plot and characters were a tad one-dimensional, but the visuals were stunning.

I have no plans on seeing this until it comes out on DVD. It doesn't really appeal to me but I am curious.

I personally loved it. I admit it has problems, but it is an amazing feat in film.
It's not my top choice for best picture, but it is a huge achievement and I would not be upset with it.

No. It overindulges CGI as an excuse for its terrible and plagiarized storytelling.

As an experience, it's good. As a cinematic film on it's own merits, it's just average. We've all been there a dozen times before, and it has been done better, just without the visual spectacle.
In the end, I ask people, if you were watching it on a 19" TV on VHS, would it still be a good movie, and most people realize it really wouldn't.
Again, I don't think it is bad, I just don't think it's great.

Umm, it was alright. But the visuals were amazing, and I'm a fan of 3D. So thats a plus.

wasnt the worse movie i have seen. What could possibly be worse than Avatar? (Besides Twilight, New Moon, etc.) I hated it. I don't think floating 3D mountains are all that amazing.

It's one of those movies where if it isn't in theaters and in 3D, I probably will not enjoy it nearly as much.
