LMAO. What a night for the newcomers. Walk off, a newcomer scores tying run and a newcomer comes around to score the winning run. They tried to pie CC, but CC'S to quick for that poop. Imma miss that S.O.B.

There ya go Joba, celebrate like you just won the super bowl during the 2nd game of the season.
What a dick, but if Papelbon did it he'd be considered a Nazi.

You knew it was going to happen. As stupid as he looks right now, its going to happen. Its not like Papelbon doesn't dance around after a save. Though nobody has anything on K-Rod.

I don't mind celebrating when the moment really calls for it, but guys like Papelbon, K-Rod, and Joba can take it too far.

Great game. Burnett pitched decent for his first time out, and the bullpen kept us in the game. Aceves, Joba and Mariano all looked great tonight. The offense came through as needed, its good to get that first win up on the board, hopefully we take the series tomorrow night.

I like emotion out on the mound. I like fist pumps and guys looking like they actually care out there, rather than some people who go in and blow the game and walk off knowing they have a guaranteed contract.
What I HATE about the "celebrating on the mound" is the fans and media aspect of it where people LOVE to see their player do it, but hate when another teams player does it.
You people need to realize you can't have it both ways. I accept that. I want to see my guy do it so I have no problem with your guy doing it....but don't say how much you love Papelbon's gymnastics but now I'm going to have to listen to people make a big deal about Joba.
Either EVERYBODY is allowed to do it, or NOBODY is allowed to do it. I have no problem with it personally.

As long as they are not facing or looking directly at the batter and it's a big strike out, I have no problem with it

Every year I make at least one fantastic waiver wire move that gets me to the finals. Garrett Jones might be THAT guy. He wont be. He will be an OF platoon or traded/AAA by July. There is no way he keeps hitting like he has and Pedro Alvarez is coming as is Jeff Clement. I still believe Clement doesn't have what it takes to really "go" at the mlb level. God, the Pirates guaranteed him the first base spot before he even put on a uniform. I think Clement will be gone, Tabata in right and Jones at first by July.

Why would the Pirates give up what they did just to not give him a shot and have him ride the bench. Garrett Jones is a 29 year old OF, he might be good for the year, to trade off etc, but he isnt the answer and he isnt going to block Jeff Clement, Alvarez or anyone else from coming up.

Well to be fair, he has played 1 full game and is only 1-3. I don't think Chase Utley has "what it takes to go" either. Garrett Jones will come back to earth very soon. People will see why he was cut by the Twins and basically played in Rochester his entire career.
