I like PG i think its good, I just don't like Gimmick PPVs, they need to ditch most of them, they are too close together and feuds ain't getting built right, and when it comes to hiac its just not going to be any good.
Again, this is how I would have the PPV's
January - Royal Rumble February - Elimination Chamber/No Way Out March/April - WrestleMania May - Over the Limit June -King of The Ring July - ? August - Summerslam September - Night of Champions October - Bragging Rights November - Survivor Series December - ?
Point is, 12 PPV's is enough, a resemble amount of time to build up feuds and get peoples attention to want to see it. The lack of Gimmick PPV's also eliminates stupid put together match's and gives that match more specialty again.

I remember someone did the math for a PPV once, and it showed that the WWE increasing their PPV by $5 actually earned them more money than more buyrates at a lower price.

You cannot compare last year's July PPV event with this year's September event. Last year the September PPV Breaking Point did the exact same number of buys as this year. It's not the summer anymore.

Not sure less is more actually means more for WWE. If they hold 12 PPVs a year again, and each of those draws 100K buys, you have 1.2 million buys. Now, if they went back to the "big four," each of those would probably draw three times as much (300K buys), but that there are only four of them means you get the same total at the end of the year -- 1.2 million. The more pay-per-views WWE has, the less buys each of them will have and vice-versa. Makes sense to me. Kind of a damned if they do, damned if they don't thing going here.
I'd agree that the company is a mess, as MRR said. The last PPV I was reeeally excited for was WM26, which was a huge letdown. That crushed my spirits a little. I pay money for something, I expect it to be worthwhile. I am less inclined to order now after wasting my money with that last PPV, and I have a feeling a lot of people are thinking similar.
WWE is also hurting right now. Taker, the most-recognized star in the company, can only work five or six big shows a year, and while he worked NoC, it's not enough for the PPVs he can't partake in. Triple H has been injured, Shawn Michaels has been retired, Cena has been stuck in a wishy-washy storyline where he is in charge of putting over not one, but seven new superstars, Orton is still establishing his identity as a ferocious face persona and there is an overall lack of credible main eventers right now. Kane is World Champ, but he doesn't draw. Punk doesn't draw enough to be a top dog. Taker is usually too injured to do much beyond a PPV match every couple weeks. Sheamus is still new and getting over but he can't draw, Edge has played sides too much to remain credible... and, finally, Chris Jericho is "injured."
I don't blame WWE. There just isn't enough going right now to draw viewers into these events. When the majority of your matches feature newer guys the younger fans don't really know yet, it's going to be a difficult sell no matter what. As great as Daniel Bryan is, he's not going to sell a younger fan on asking their dad to buy the event for them. I see the company lulling for a while as its new guys begin developing and turning into bigger draws. WWE honestly needs some more Miz-like personalities. The Miz is huge outside of WWE. He's all over the Kids Choice Awards, he's making media appearances, he has an outsider appeal that appeals to more than the casual fan. How many guys does WWE have that can do that? Cena, Undertaker, Triple H, Mysterio. Those are the big guys right now in terms of who people have heard of. One is injured/out, is stuck in a drawn-out story where he's getting embarrassed every week, one has little time left and one needs surgery in about 15 different places, making it only a matter of time before he exits. Like it or not, The Miz is going to be a huge factor somewhere down the road.
Note that I didn't toss Randy Orton onto the list. He draws consistently and sells merch, but people don't know who he is outside of WWE. If I asked my dad, a non-wrestling fan, if he knew who Undertaker was, he'd answer correctly. But Orton? Eh, not so much. This is why turning Cena heel now is a bad idea. Orton isn't established enough to do it. Give him a great reign with the belt, put out a few more shirts for him, give him a high-profile feud with someone intriguing and unique. He should be ready to take the ball from Cena at Mania 27 or SummerSlam at the latest. But not now.
So, yeah, just a few observations. People are too quick to blame WWE. It's slumping right now, but even the best teams in sports lose a few games after their players go out injured or retire. It happens. Stick with it and enjoy what you can out of it right now. It'll pick up.

Thats what happens when you market a bland product to suit children and not adults.Kids dont have much disposable income.....How many parents struggling to make the mortgage ,car payment,groceries.utlities,etc. in this crappy economy are gonna cater to their preteen son or daughters squealing...BUT MOOOM OR DAAAD..I WANNA SEE JOHN CENA!!! are gonna press the order button evey month at 44.95-54.95 just to appease the lil turds? Smart dad waves hand in front of face and says to kids"I cant see you..cause youre inside cleaning your room!!!" Watch it for free tomorrow and quit ur whining before I lay the smackdown on your candy A$$ES!!

Two things. 1) There are too many PPV's. Some of them are only 2 or 3 weeks apart. That's not enough time to build up any stories and actually make them interesting, and the damn things are too expensive to drop that amount of money every 3 or 4 weeks. They need to drop some PPV's and space them out and make them special again. 2) The gimmick PPV's are really starting to tire on a lot of people I would imagine. The PPV's are too expensive to begin with and I don't want to pay all that money and then have to sit through the same match multiple times. Two or 3 Hell in a Cell's, 2 or 3 Elimination Chambers, etc...it's too much and it's ruining those matches also because Hell in a Cell and Elimination Chamber aren't special anymore because they are now ANNUAL occurrences. WWE needs to realize that LESS IS MORE. Flooding us with PPV's and gimmick matches just makes them seem mundane and common place. I wouldn't do a Hell in a Cell or an Elimination Chamber match for at least 2 years if I was them and really have people shocked and wanting one when they finally do it again, instead of being like "well, every year we get at least 2 of them on the same night".

I agree that the buyrates are doing bad because the PPVs are too much and there's less value to matches. Since they've started gimmick matches, I thought it was a stupid idea, except for TLC, Extreme Rules and Night of Champions. I think if the WWE would reduce their price by at least $10, and have a PPV once a month like before, and there's a big buildup to PPVs, their buyrates will be better.
Also, I've heard people say about how blood in the match could add to the match. I never had problem with them not blading anymore. The problem I have is them stopping a match due to someone legit bleeding. I say let it flow if it was legit. Could add some excitement to a match.

Tip for Vince, keep the PPV prices 19.95 to 24.95 (Execept WMA which can be higher) Hype the new prices. Less price, more people will buy, equals more revenue! Perhaps even those who buy get a substantial discount on the DVD of the even when it comes out, maybe 50 perecnt off with the receipt on their cable bill. DVDs do not cost very much to manufacture.
Have no more than 8 to 10 PPVs a year. For the PPV names that are retired, make them 3 hour RAW special Episodes.

Hopefully this will be an incentive to either get rid of some of the PPV's or lower their ridiculously high price tag, or maybe both. $685 a year for PPV's is a bit much, especially in times like these. I honestly don't mind there being so many PPV's, just lower the freakin' price! exactly. way too many ppvs in a year specially when the price point keeps getting higher.

I'd be interested to see what kind of change they'd see if they, for example, dropped a single Pay-Per-View in price significantly.
With this whole Stand Up for WWE campaign, and "Fan Appreciation Day" tonight with drastically reduced ticket prices, why not give it a shot on Pay-Per-View?
Just once, with a throwaway Pay-Per-View like, for example, Elimination Chamber, charge a reasonable price like $14.95 or $19.95. Not only does this save people money that they're more likely to spend on Wrestlemania the following month, but it it gives them the chance to test the waters and see how many buys and how much revenue they can bring in with a lower Pay-Per-View cost.
I don't see how something like that could be bad for business - especially if you just try it out once. Advertise it like crazy as a one time only deal and I'll be willing to bet you see a pretty drastic increase in purchases. I would be more than happy to order a Pay-Per-View at $20 or less.

They can earn more money, but I see a problem that less and less people are actually seeing the PPV's. WWE would make even more if they lowered the cost back down to $40 or lower and got around the same or more buys than last year than they are in their current structure. Either people don't watch your PPV's, which is what you spend all of your Television time promoting/building up to (Besides WWE Films), or more people see your PPV for a lower cost, and I'm sure WWE could make up the difference somewhere else, maybe even their new WWE Network, if they charge the right amount for it.

The bottom line is nothing special happens on the pay per views anymore. The night after a pay per view used to be focused on emphasizing the importance of what happened the previous night to make fans feel like they really missed something. It's just like every Raw, the element of "can't miss TV" is gone. A viewer can miss a pay per view and just watch the Raw the next night and feel like they haven't missed a beat. It shouldn't be that way. A viewer could watch one week a month and stay pretty much up to date with what his happening. Nothing happens anymore! definitely agree. i've said this before in other threads, probably word for word but its just not that exciting anymore. the last 5-10 minutes of raw used to be the most suspenseful/exciting television. you always knew something big was always going to happen at the end of raw and it was cant miss, leaving you hanging on till raw next week. now its just, whos staring down who from the stage to the ring, its just not that interesting.

I guarantee is WWE went to 10 or 11 PPV's and charged $35, stopped gimmicking the out of them, and made people care about them, they would do better.

they definitley need to go back to 12 per year....one a month is fine. lowering the price by $5 would bring in a lot more buys.
not to mention, most people now probably get together at one house. with the home theaters and large TVs that people have its more fun & financially smart to get 6-10 people all at one place throwing in $5 a head.

Everyone knows the announcing is at the lowest point it has ever been at in the history of the company. Michael Cole is beyond annoying. Jerry Lawler needs to become the heel he once was to bring energy back into the broadcasts. The diva wrestling is at its lowest point since its re-emergence in the late 90s. The Raw GM angle is ridiculous and one of the cheapest stunts they've ever pulled. Instead of going out of their way and hiring someone that is special enough to have an impact on the show, we have a storyline that is extremely inconsistent. The company is a big mess. In the past, there have always been dream matches that wrestling fans fantasize about, but is there a match between two WWE wrestlers that fans really want to see? No, there isn't. The only mega match that they have left to offer with their current stars would be Cena and Undertaker. I hate seeing it like this, because I've been a WWF/E fan my whole life, but the company needs major help. There is more suspense to TNA's weekly show than there is WWE's. The way they use the cliffhanger ending to bridge into Reaction is an example of something that is missing in WWE. Do the shows make viewers anticipated for next week? This man speaks the truth.

If WWE are catering for FAMILIES, they should cater for every member of the family, not just the children.
Therefore, let the fences around the wrestlers' movesets down so we older fans can enjoy the matches.
Give us more interesting storylines but keep the language PG.
That is literally it.

how can people say PG isn't affecting the product for PPVs like Hell in a Cell, where a good juicer cut would make the matches better tenfold? Let's say when the referee was taken out during Kane-Undertaker, Kane slams Taker's head into the cage a bunch of times, works his way out of the door to get a chair. Gets Undertaker bleeding but he's still not slowing down. Tosses him through an announce table but Taker's still coming, like the zombie he is. Hit him with the belt and he just stares blankly. Kane retreats to the ring, chasing Bearer into the cage. Kane's about to destroy Bearer. Taker makes the save. Then do that goofy ass finish with the urn if need be. I would have just had Bearer whack Taker with the urn, showing the powers inside that can always destroy Taker, when chairs, belts, and tables can't. No need for Paul Bearer to hide a flashlight in the urn. Sorry, but if you think blood makes a match better then you are NOT a wrestling fan. Anybody that thinks that a guy bleeding can magically make a crappy match better isn't watching the product for the right reasons. If you need extreme violence, cursing, sexual storylines and blood to keep you interested, you should probably go watch something else.
