Just to reiterate some of the good points made...
1. Gimmick PPVs/ match overkill 2. High prices (doesn't affect us UKers, but clearly does affect US viewers).
PG is not a reason. The only people that have stopped watching because of PG are people who are too embarrassed to admit they are a fan of a show that 3 year olds can enjoy.

People can't afford to shell out 50 bucks every 3 weeks for a three hour show.

Well............. Perhaps they shouldn't charge ppv's close to $60 a ing pop. The only one that is close to $60 is WrestleMania. And if someone is going to bitch about HD prices, then don't order the HD version.

Still too expensive, HD or not.

Or, ya know, the prices could be lowered and people would be happy?

For me:
1. Too many PPVs. Go back to the original 4 or if they must have more: 6 at the most.
2. PPVs are too expensive for the poor product.
3. No sense of "anything can happen". Don't get any urgency to watch.
4. Every top star has faced each other in every kind of main event possible. Like someone said, only big match left is John Cena vs the Undertaker
5. Even though the top stars are on their way out, WWE seems reluctant to push new guys or when they DO, they pull this start/stop/start/stop style of pushes (see Morrison , Kofi )
6. Product is very safe and sanitized.

I still think 12 PPVs a year would be fine, or maybe 10 (missing out March and October in order to allow longer build towards WrestleMania/ Survivor Series). Just lower the price and drop the match type gimmicks.
Royal Rumble No Way Out - WrestleMania Backlash KOTR Bragging Rights Summerslam Breaking Point (I figure NoC is gonna be pointless before long) - Survivor Series Armageddon

I really just order the Rumble and Mania each year for the most part. Ordering 12 ppvs a year is too much money to be spent.

There are way too many. PPVs are nearly $50, and to have some twice a month is ridiculous. Stick to one a month at the maximum.

US$45 is ridiculous imo.
And Vince McMahon increased the price by 5 bucks from last yr's US$40 too!

I blame it on me not wanting to spend 55 dollars for HD garbage

People are saying "no gimmick PPV's" but WWE's PPV buys have improved since they began doing them.
e.g. Hell in a Cell 2009 drew more buys than No Mercy 2008.
