I don't live in the States, I live in Panama. Never had any issues at all when buying toys in the stores. After all, you can be buying for your kid, your little brother, your nephews, a cousin, who can tell? And even if you are buying for yourself, who cares? I have bought Barbie cars for my figs, since it's pretty much the closest thing to scale, think I worried about what people would say? If Kane is man enough to ride on a pink corvette, I'm man enough to buy it for him!

Im only 13 so it doesnt really bother me... one time I went with my brother though who is like 21 or 22.. anyways he was buying me a figure, and the lady at the register thing was like "Oh you still play with toys?" and he was like "YEAH! Im gonna have this HUUUUGE battle today, wrestlers vs ninja turtles, cant WAIT!" it was actually pretty funny and everyone laughed...

I think it's just you. I've never cared what others think. I couldn't have said it any better. I'm 27 and I'm not embarrassed in the least bit. It's part of your hobby you should have pride in it. It's something your doing that makes yourself happy. You shouldn't care what anyone thinks whether it's a store worker, friends or anyone else. I don't understand how some of you younger collectors can be so ashamed. When I was younger I couldn't wait to go into TRU or any other store for that matter that sold toys. TRU was, still is and always will be one of my favorite stores.

Nope. I used to be, but then I realized that nobody really cares. You may think they are, but nobody is saying "haha look at that loser buying action figures!" The fact is, nobody gives a crap, so you shouldnt either.

i use to until some of the cashier started talking to me about wrestling and one of the female cashiers that's obviously a mom asked if i collected the figures. so now and then when i see her there she will let me know if they stocked up from the last time i was there or she will keep some of the figures hidden for me. but no one's picked on me or anything like that. then again i'm a big guy so who would want to mess with me.

Yeah unluckily some of the cashiers are dicks. Then just ask them for a manager, they have no right to even comment about what you buy.

I'm 26 and no one really ever bothers me. sometimes they'll be an old guy in the aisle asking me about the figures but usually its the hot wheel guys just trying to figure out whats worth what. sometimes there will be older women buying gifts for kids so they ask about some of the guys. all and all no one has really ever been rude to me. when it comes down to it if you're embarrassed of your hobby, find a new hobby.

I'm 22 and could not care less what people think, I believe everyone is entitled to have a hobby, mine is to collect wrestling figures, it makes me happy, so anything anybody thinks is irrelevant

Some people stare but I don't care.
I think they shouldn't stare at you/us because they are in a toystore too.

I used to, but now I don't really care what strangers think. Sometimes it bothers me when people close to me don't like that I collect, but again, on the grander scale of things, it doesn't bother me. I'm not going to stop if other people don't like it. I'm entitled to enjoy my hobby and that's that.

The amount of times I've gone into TRU for figures has actually made it so one member of staff notices me, and has a chat with me about how new the stock is and all that kind of stuff. Helps you feel less embarrassed.

i think as soon as i get out of school i wont be embarressed, because i wont have to see those jerks 5 days a week. and i can drive myself down to TRU rather than my dad (whom i love very much XD) going around the shop with me. its not that he embarrasses me but im taller than my dad, which makes me look even older and still getting my "daddy" to buy me toys

yea I think it's only when your in high school. I'm 14(pretty much 15) and people don't stare. I met one guy at the cashier that was like us, collecting figs, and we had a chat about the new releases. that was the one time I saw them though... there was only one time i was embarrassed, it was because three 6 year olds were in that isle.there's no reason to be embarrassed, and there's always the excuse that your buying for someone. there isn't a tru even close to me, so I always say, "like I'm ever going to see them again"

I'm 32 and it doesn't bother me. The way I look at it is, there are worse things I could be doing with my time & money then buying wrestling toys. Plus I don't smoke, I rarely drink, & my wife & son are both spoiled so it's all good. This is how I feel about it. I would rather be that guy buying an action figure than the guy blowing his money on drugs and crap. Don't be ashamed man. You only live once, you might as well be happy. Don't let small minded people ruin your fun.
