With the popularity of Green Lantern flying high and the movie coming up in the next few months, I figured it would be a great idea to start a thread directed towards GL figures, instead of having to sift through the DC Universe thread. For those who have extensive collections, I was wondering what are the differences between The Blackest Night Figures and the DC Universe figures. All of my GL figs are from DC Universe, except an old Hal Jordan that I had gotten awhile back from DC Universe. That Jordan is not really in scale with the DC Universe figures. Can anyone explain or show comparison pics? Just saw this....anyone else spot it? www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=10880798

Saw that TRU thing on a GL forum. Judging from most of the reactions on there the ring and stand are well liked, the figure (which is 4 inches tall) sucks.
I have a feeling that like the G.I. Joe movie toys, the hardcore fan base are going to be negative over the GL movie toys, but will still buy the hell out of them.

And when Ryan Reynolds was announced as Hal Jordan, I was excited. But then the previews hit and I DO NOT LIKE IT. Got a link to the GL forum?

www.thegreenlanterncorps.com/forum/I am looking forward to the movie, but to me it looks poorly done, like Avatar was. To many SFX shots and real world characters dropped into cartoony looking CG sets and shots. The aliens look to alien. The movie figures seem to be the same way, the aliens look to alien and odd and the details seem overblown.

any news on a movie master dark knight scale line for green lantern? I'd like at least Hal Jordan himself if no one else in that scale
I only collect movie superhero figs anymore and I love the MM scale

But comic figures are all headed in that horrid 3.75" scale. I would rather see DC Universe/Mattel handle the movie line in 7" figures.

I'm pretty sure there's going to be a 6 inch scaled series of GL Movie figures since one of the figures from Green Lantern Classics Wave 2 is a "Preview" figure for that line.
On a side note, my GL Classics Kyle Rayner and Maash/Low came in the mail today. Very good figures.

The figures should be 6 inches, but the alien figures look very different and are in slightly different scales. The Tomar-Re looked to be 7 or 8 inches tall.

GL Classics 1 have been found at WalMart and TRU so far. spamS has pics of GL Universe Series 2
TRU.com have a DCIH (3.75") scale Movie GL figure with a ring for $25. It was limited to 2814 pieces and also looks like the figure has DCUC styled hips now.
And yes there will be Movie Masters type figures as well.

I cannot get anyone to activate my account on the GL forums. Can someone here who has one help me? The screen name I made is Green Lantern Corps.

Ugghhhhh..........I missed the early bird pre-order. Don't feel bad so did I. I was going to order it two days ago, but was too tired so I went to do it yesterday after I responded to this thread and it was no longer on TRU.com

Why hasn't Mattel/Movie Masters made more of an effort to release figures?
All they've done is TDK & Avatar.
They missed out on Tron & Alice in Wonderland (for potential candidates). Surely they could do something besides Ghost Busters?

Yes, I didn't think it would have sold out that fast either. PJ....do you have comparison pics of DC Universe GL and DC Direct GL? Are they in scale? Most DCD are too tall, but the 1st DCD Kyle Rayner and GL Series 1 (Hal, Parallax, Guardians all are close enough to scale) I'd post pics, but my bandwidth on both accounts has exceeded. Although one account should be reset on Monday or Tuesday
