I don't know, it does look great and all, just doesn't look that much like Bane tbh. Way to kill the mood. I know, looking back it looks really bad, right. No, even if he had a vest on, like a black vest/singlet top on, then that'd be fine for me. I actually wouldn't be suprised if we didn't get anything but leaked pics of Catwoman. I see her being a minimal part, much like Two-Face in TDK. I'm assuming you are counting Harvey and Two-Face as two different characters? Because if not, I don't know where you are coming from, since Harvey is the main plot point. Yea, I'm counting both as seperate characters. And we never got anything about Two Face really until those leaked pics about a month or so before it came out.

See, I figured you were talking about them both as seperate people, but wanted to make sure.
I love Batman just as much as the next person in this thread, but is anyone else excited....to see him get the **** beat out of him?

We haven't had a good fight in any of Nolan's films, and we haven't seen Batman in a weakened state really since the plane crash in 89, so we're due, lol

I'm such a sucker for a good story, that had this been a few years ago, I would debate the "lack of real fight scenes". But in hindsight, while the ones that are in there are certainly cool and look great, they are somewhat few and far between.
Beyond Batman's epic ass whooping, I'm crossing my fingers and my toes for a Batcave. It's been at least 2 years in Gotham Time, how long does it take to rebuild Wayne Manor?

That is actually a REALLY good point about the fight scenes. Still, this movie is just going to be SO epic!

The way Nolan edits the fight scenes adds to the point of Batman being in the shadows, and attack from all angles. The problem is we've yet to really seem this Batman in a fight. A knock down, drag out brutal battle.

I'm super excited at the amount of muscle Hardy has packed on for this role, I have no doubts that it'll be a fantastic film, and I'm betting Batman will get a proper ass kicking at some point in the film.

A Bronson sized Bane would melt my Comic heart.

Yea, Hardy is pretty damned big, the height tho, thats a thing that I hope isn't too much of an issue.

I mean, look at TDK's Joker, he was a much different version than what we had ever seen. He was a realistic take on him. I'd much prefer Tom Hardy then say Shaq. It will be grand.

It's be interesting to see if Nolan uses any special angles to help Bane seem bigger. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind for instance.

Am I the only person who actually doesn't care that Hardy is under 6 feet tall, but is playing Bane? Just Tom Hardy being in a lead role is enough for me. The height doesn't matter. As stated here, The Joker we got in The Dark Knight was different to the one we saw in the comics, yet that bothered no one.

I don't think it's so much that we are "bothered". I honestly can't think of a person on here that thought "Tom Hardy is Bane? Nah.....not believable." I think the intention of some of those comments are more so to open the conversation about what all will be done to make Bane a big nasty bastard.

Oh....my....God!
It's on now. Hardy looks massive and the Mask, while not exactly what I wanted, still looks scary as hell. Very frightening.

call me buzz killington, but I just can't get excited about this considering Hardy is only 5'10". i'm a huge Batman fan and I love the Bane character, but as far as I'm concerned, no matter how much he bulks up or how great of a performance he gives, there is absolutely no way a 5'10" guy can play Bane. unless they are superimposing his head onto a huge bodybuilder's body (which I would be fine with, but I'm sure won't be happening). Bane's physical height is simply a crucial part of his character IMO.

I'm already in love with this and hope that this movie will make Hardy a household name. Rumor is the skeleton hand on the mask is the tubes for the venom.

I think someone who's 5'10 can be physically imposing, plus they can always use some forced perspective to make him look taller.
But I disagree about his height being important. I really hope that Nolan is planning on exploiting the mental side of Bane more than the physical anyway. that side never really has been explored like it should be.

I like the look of the new Bane, it's very Nolan-ish and can't wait to see how he does his character. The height is a small point and even if they don't pick up on it, it will prob be a point I overlook. Hoping for more details soon, please?
