I hope the Legends line isn't done, but I think Mattel needs to re focus how they do it there first 6 sets had good mixes for collectors but other casual collectors parents might not go for them. I want Mattel to tackle SD Jones, Brooklyn Brawler, Koko B. Ware, Moondogs, British Bulldogs, Godwinns, managers. mix them in in basics, 2 packs, elites if they can't keep the line going.

Mattel should incorporate CnC figures in the line like they do with DCUC as it would be a good way for them to release some guys like SD Jones, Brawler & Managers who might not sell well with the general public.

I really do hope they do not end the legends line as we have seen awesome figures up to now and it would be a damn shame if they ended without doing Bret, Shawn ,Taker and all the other legends

I think the big mistake was starting the line with the focus on guys from the 80s rather than those from the 90s. The 80s look slim without Hogan and Flair, also those fans such as myself are much older now than when Jakks started their Classic Line and the older you are the less likely you are to collect as you got different priorities and responsibilities in life. Had the focus been on the Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars and trickled in the 80s superstars then the figures would have flown off the pegs as they are fresher in the fans collective memory.
In any case I hope the line continues or at least we get them packed in with the elites. I still need a Bret Hart figure.
Oh and Also we need a Legends line sticky as it seems this is the most recurrent topic in the past couple of months.

I hope they dont cancel them. I feel they are only getting started in there world of legends now. It's like yeah they had some not so famous ones out, but they did have plenty of good ones with it too. I'm sure there is alot of collectors as myself too. Who knows really, rather then speculate, we will just have to wait and see what July or August brings. I would have to hear it from mattel myself to believe they are quitting tho. I sure hope not

I Agree they needed to start with the 90s and go from there. Its complete bullcrap if htey cancel the line and i will prob. be done with Mattel figures to be honest. They started off strong just as Jakks did and then it starts going downhill.

They are Basically Just Starting, i mean they've been out a little over a year, and i think we all knew there would be a Steep Curve for Jakks Collectors to Make the Jump right?
It took me till Legends 5 to start collecting, and We see posts all the time about people making the Big Jump into Mattel, I think Mattel are or will start to see better sales now and progressively more as they drop more big names into the line-ups.
I have faith in mattel, anyways they have a New Unannounced Reveal in 2 days , so maybe we'll see soon

Speaking purely from a personal point of view, i would buy more Legends figures if they released more superstars from the Monday Night Wars era, especially WCW/nWo guys, and especially guys who Jakks didn't make in CS (or made badly). Everyone from a-listers to fondly-remembered gimmicks/jobbers, tag-teams, managers, women and announcers. There's literally hundreds of superstars I would buy if Mattel made them.
Aside from that I'd just like to see new Legends released more often, and for them to be sold at UK retail so I don't have to pay import prices for them all. Also some of the headsculpts I feel have lacked depth/detail or have been a poor likeness (eg. Macho Man) so I'd like to see that improved.
Simply put - if Mattel ticks all those boxes, they'll get my money.

I've been picking up Elites and Legends at various Big Lots and Family Dollars and just about every time the cashier will comment about how many WWE figures they've been selling. It really looks like $10 is the "sweet spot" for the non hard core collectors and parents with little kids (I'm sure it's not all guys like me buying extras to customize ).

thats it brother! the defining moments r amazing, as were entrance greats.. but those, along with Tag Team are wayy to pricy!
charge same as elite, why is the sh*tty guy w/ the most figs in box to sit on shelves.. tons of L3 @ my tru with rows and rows of Pillman.. should b ROCK
** i forsee the ALL STARS concept returning full time with normal graphics**
dont get me wrong, i Really want Legends series and Tag Team and Defining Moments.. but Hard Times + Terrible Planning = Tremendous Re-Vamp of Product, Planning Product, Distribution, Marketing
Heck there r zero commericals or SPOTS for legend line on my WWE classics on demand cable channel normally it iwll be random upcoming ppv.
WHatever Mattel does, as long as it in includes Legends, needs to be seen on wwe raw wwe smackdown [

I'm sorry guy's but I have a bad feeling....
But like others have said they will come out one way or another. It just may take longer.
What ever the decision its already been decided we just have to wait and see.

Bill said wait for SDCC as they are holding back everything to make a splash there. If they were canceling it they wouldn't be waiting until SDCC to do it. Worst case scenario is they become a store or matty exclusive.

Thing with that, though, is sending them to places like that to sell off cheaply is damage control because they aren't selling at full price. I don't think they could be sold for $10 with anywhere near the same level of detail and accessories.

I bet half the people who will buy a wrestling figure (no one on this board of coarse) can't tell the difference between a Basic figure and Elite. I really think when an action figure goes past the $10 mark the non collectors won't buy as many or they will buy something else (cheaper). I love what Mattel is doing so I don't mind the price but I'm sure there are a lot of people who think $15 is outrageous. For years toy companies said toylines could not depend only on adults or collectors maybe they were right.

I think the whole Legends line will be canceled after this year. There has been plenty of opportunities for a Mattel rep to just reply to a thread, "No, Legends Line isn't going to be canceled. I think with SDCC, Mattel will announce how they will release Legends differently. I really do believe they will release a legend or 2 in the Elite series.

I appreciate Bill being so honest that Legends figures aren't selling well and that there are serious questions about if the line can continue.......but he should have kept it to himself until Mattel had some more definitive information.
Because CLEARLY the people on this message board can't handle what Bill said, because 4 times a week we get somebody making a thread about the Legends line being canceled.
THIS is why now we are getting less information, because certain people on these boards can't HANDLE that information without freaking out.

It just spells bad news for those of us who like the Legends line at the current level of quality (and thus price). I don't know what the solution is to keep it going.
