I think the whole Legends line will be canceled after this year. There has been plenty of opportunities for a Mattel rep to just reply to a thread, "No, Legends Line isn't going to be canceled. I think with SDCC, Mattel will announce how they will release Legends differently. I really do believe they will release a legend or 2 in the Elite series. I still remember back at toy fair they said something about being more strategic with the legends line going forward, Even if they said that before showing us series 6 it doesnt matter, cuz by then series 6 was probably already in the works, the scans take a year sometimes mattel have said, More than likely we probably havent seen a "Strategic" series yet..... so all the speculation is just intellectually- disabled at this point. Besides they have a reveal tomorrow, like PJ said they are saving their news for a "Big Splash" For SDCC .... which is why they aren't Commenting on the legends line ..... Because they are Saving the comments to Make a "BIG SPLASH" lol.... know what i mean? "sorry guys , legends are canceled" "sorry guys , were gonna make legends basics" "sorry guys, were gonna make 2 legends in every elite series" < --- Does not sound like a Big Splash to me.... no offense to anyone but Mattel have already said they are holding off till SDCC and it sounds like its gonna be an awesome show!

One way or another we'll see legends characters get produced by Mattel. Whether or not that'll be in the "Legends" line is debateable. They're either gonna be salted into the Elite waves or just continue as is. I also suggest salting basic legends into the Heritage lines as well. Really this should be done even if the Legends line continues. But I do believe we will still see ,at least the biggest A and some B listers ,get produced no matter what the future of the line holds.

I appreciate Bill being so honest that Legends figures aren't selling well and that there are serious questions about if the line can continue.......but he should have kept it to himself until Mattel had some more definitive information. Because CLEARLY the people on this message board can't handle what Bill said, because 4 times a week we get somebody making a thread about the Legends line being canceled. THIS is why now we are getting less information, because certain people on these boards can't HANDLE that information without freaking out. 1. From a wrestling figure stand point the Legend line is big news. One huge thread would probably have been better. 2. Could you image if Bill didn't say anything. Then (Edit: IF) Mattel drops the bad news at SDCC. Oh My! 3. I hope Mattel grew a thick skin by now after dealing with the MOTU, DC, Barbie, and Hot Wheels collectors. We're really not any worse.

Man this board is filled with "Negative Nellie's" I can say with 100% certainty Mattel isn't going to be announcing bad news at the SDCC. Personally seeing Bill had said there will be 2 or 3 Hitman figures before the end of the year I am expecting to see at the very least 1 Bret Hart proto.

I get a terrible feeling I'm never going to be able to change my sig. If they become more exclusive-based or some such, I have no idea how long it will take for them to get to Page. Going to remain optimistic though. Hopefully the sagging sales will inspire them to make better figure and attire choices.

It's not done. They said they are holding all news and lineups close to their chest now because SDCC is a month away and they want to have info at SDCC. They do it every year with the DC lines hold info/lineups until SDCC. That's where they like to debut things. If the line was done they wouldn't say there will be an announcent at SDCC. Again sales have been bad with every Mattel DC line since they took over in 2003/04 and almost every one of them went on one way or another for a long time. First there was DCSH which went up to Series 9 before turning into DCUC which is up to Series 18. But they've been saying sales were poor since day one. JL/JLU was another line that was suppose to be in trouble and went to a Target exclusive...Then when the cartoon ended it because a Matty.com exclusive and then back to Target & TRU. But that line is actually ending this year. But that was a line that lasted 7 years with so called poor sales. We will still see the Legends one way or another smart cookie! exactly, same stories with Dc line,...
