I know we all frown upon things like buying more figures than we need for profit, or switching figurEs for more expensive ones, but what's everyones opinions on hiding figures for future purchases? I was just at this TRU next to my jb and they refilled all the shelves with elite 8 & 9. i saw guys like sheamus bourne and drew, I only had money for one so I grabbed Bourne, Knowning i'll be back there next week I figured I'd hold off on drew till then. However with only one in stock I didnt want to take a chance so I hid him behind some ufc rings. Has anyone lifted up some shelves t store a figure? Is it wrong, unethical? Or is it just another way us collectors get by? ** So I go back to move the figure to a better spot, as I grab the figure a kid and his pops walk into the aisle and the kid is wearing a wwe t-shirt, we looks straight at the elites, not the rumblers or basics but the elites, guess what he wanted....Elite 8 drew! He mentions to his father he wants drew, and they see it my hands, the dad asks if he could have it, I'm dressed in a dress shirt and khakis so they thought I worked there..I quickly told them it was for a customer. Diick move right! Well thats what I thought, but then he grabbed All Stars Austin and Punk, and thought oh he got the better deal here. Well the dad said no and they began to walk away...then I felt bad, who am I to take a figure away from a kid? I walked to tthem and gave them the very figure I was trying to hide! I figure karma will reward me with some good finds in the future

I actually did it just yesterday I saw a Elite 10 Big Show and hid it behind some stuff. But I didn't do it for myself I snapped a pic and posted it in the findings in case anyone local still needed one.

Not a big deal, in my opinion. As long as you're intending on buying it.
I almost always have enough to get what I want while I'm at the store, but... I have hid figures for members on here to go get.
Also - when I go figure hunting, I look in "hiding spots". lol.

I did this once with the Elite 6 Batista, afraid it would sell out; now, they are still hanging on shelfs :/

i dont care. i dont do it myself cause i always have the money to buy it, but the saying i use is if you dont have the money to buy it then you dont need it. i always look and find hidden figures everytime i go out and needless to say I put them back in their rightful place. But i really have no problem with hiding stuff. Only problem I do have with it is if you change your mind about getting the figure then chances are you arent going to make a trip back just to put the figure back in its rightful spot. If your at a Toys R Us just ask them, most of them will hold figures for you.

never did this, always have the money for figures i want. i do however usually take a peak behind the rings and such on the bottom shelf to see if anyone hid the goods.

I hide stuff all the time. If I'm indecisive I want something I will hide it and come back another time. Or if my friend is looking for something I will hide it and get it from him later to trade. But otherwise I don't care if people hide stuff.
I found an obvious aisle sniper's stash of TRU exclusive G.I. Joes with multiples of the same figure, so I put them back on the shelf so someone else could have them. I hate aisle snipers.

I don't see anything wrong with it as long as your going back to buy it. I've hidden figures and gone back to buy them ever since I was younger. I recently just did it with a Batman Legacy figure at TRU. I knew they wouldn't last long and Batman would be gone if I went back later in the week. I went back a few days later and after I grabbed the one I hid I checked the pegs and sure enough all the Series 2 Legacy figures were gone (except for 1 lone Catman).

I have done it. I remember hiding a deluxe aggression 7 jeff hardy behind crates of coca cola in a supermarket. It is ok if you intend on buying it sometime in the next month.

Lol me and my buddy when we were kids found a ton of toys from Classic series 6, BO WCW/ECW, and some 2 packs, but only had enough for like 1 or 2. So we hid a bunch of them in a crib, came back later that day with more money from our parents, and they were gone. Sucked.
I once hid a 1 of 1000 Swagger at an FYE, came back a whole week late and it was still there.

I see nothing wrong with it, just as long as you intend on buying it later. And props to you for giving the kid the Drew fig.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I will say this, I search these "hiding spots" and have found some good figures(jakks Melina when she first came out, legends sting & EG undertaker just to name a few)

No, i don't. I always have enough money on me, and if i couldn't afford a figure i wouldn't even think of buying it anytime soon.

I actually found a figure I hid several months ago in the same spot when I went to hide something else last week. lol. I didn't remember putting it there so I put it out on the shelf so someone else can get it.

I'm kind of a hypocrite when it comes to it. I hide figures but if I find hidden ones that I already have I put them back on the shelf, right in front. I don't see whats wrong with hiding them. I don't hide unless I have an intent to buy it.

I have never hid any figures. I feel there are more then one of that figure made and i will find it eventually.
A few weeks ago i did find an Elite 10 Big Show that someone tried to hid behind the rings at Wal-Mart.
