So for those that don't know there's this radio show that tends to have WWE Superstars/Legends and the interview was pretty good. This is the station that Randy Orton went on and demeaned Kelly Kelly. I'm sure he'll get more attention for calling his ex-girlfriend (Beth Phoenix?) a douchebag...but what interested me most was when they asked about CM Punk changing the WWE Championship. The quote is, "Is there any truth to you changing the WWE Spinner Belt?" his answer was "Yes, absolutely 100%, I'm uh...I'm workin' on it." this is from this past Monday. 98kupd.com/podcast-holmbergs-morning-sickness

Here's the link to their website 98kupd.com/podcast-holmbergs-morning-sickness There's a link that says More and then there's Interviews...the CM Punk is the newest one. It's a 50 minute interview, I forget when exactly he says it but it's gotta be in the first half.

I really hope this is true, the belt has well and truly overstayed its time. Im ready to see something a little more prestigeous looking and not so superstar specific, the main problem with it is it says 'champ'. Needs more class than that. Hopefully it comes out soon. If the WWE does changes its logo to that new one they had for the network, surely the belt will change at that point.

Does it even spin anymore? No. Hasn't spun since Orton had it. But it's known as "The Spinner Belt."

If CM Punk actually changed that ghetto piece of trash into something more prestigious and respectable I would totally get behind him 100%.

The world title mostly changes right after wrestlemania (when it does change) I wouldnt expect anything until then.

now that it doesnt spin, it's less annoying. seriously if they just changed the belt to say "Champion" instead of "Champ" it would be fine.

To my knowledge WWE already created a new heavyweight title, over a year ago. It was reported to have silver plates but Vince didn't like it. The Spinner title is a big seller in the replica form so they kept it around. But all indications are a new WWE title will debut soon, most likely after WrestleMania and it very well could be an updated version of the Winged Eagle since Dave Millican just brought back the classic IC. Not to mention guys like CM Punk have gone on record stating the Winged Eagle was the title that meant the most.
We'll see soon.

I too would be happy if they changed the "Champ" to "Champion". Also, it may no longer be the spinner but it still looks like a spinner to me. All I'm asking is to just make a few modifications including the Champion thing and it could actually be a nice looking belt.

To me, it doesn't look like a wrestling Championship belt. To me, it was and will always bee associated with John Cena, and it just looks stupid on anyone else.
The WWF Winged Eagle, the WWF Attitude Era Big Eagle, The Undisputed Belt and the WHC Belt all LOOK like wrestling Championship belts and feel as if they have some sort of importance.
To me, I would almost rather they get rid of the WWE Title completely and just have the Champion be Champion by name with NO BELT AT ALL unless they find a belt that visually represents how important the role is.
Like people have said, it's grown on me and I've gotten used to seeing it....but I still don't LIKE it.
I'm not saying bring back an old title because trust me, I'm not stuck in the passed and I don't wish we were still ina previous Era....I just think they can do better, and what started out as a gimmick title for John Cena NEVER should have lasted this long or have been held by others. Remember, Cena changed the US Title also, and they didn't make others use that belt. As soon as Cena lost the US Title, the belt went back to normal. The same should have happened to the WWE Title.

I always wondered why they were reluctant to change styles. We always hear that the spinner version is a hot seller. So what, if there is another title, thats another belt fans would buy, right? Its not like they have to stop selling/marketingt he older title. New product = more merch
