She was driving without a license, was involved in two hit and run incidents and she was fleeing. Winner! Nothing in that video shows excessive force. No kicking, punching, guns or batons used. The second you flee you become a criminal. OP since you hate cops I don't think anything he would have done would have mattered. He could have thrown a peanut at her and you would cry excessive force.

Also, it could've been prevented completely by the lady not running from the cops.

Excessive force? No way. She clearly tried to run and the police did what they are supposed to do to stop a criminal from running. Her falling on her head was accidental, there was no wrong doing by the police. The is the unfortunate result and consequence of her own actions. JS This. Two hit and runs? What an idiot.

It may help you if you actually knew what deadly force was.

So your telling me the cop was supposed to see into the future and know this girl was going to land like that? The cop did nothing wrong, it is unfortunate what happened, but it happened because of her wrongdoing.

I HATE when people say "this is the reason I hate cops" (Not directed at you Old School, but more as a general thing) Yes, it's unfortunate that the poor girl landed the way she did, BUT SHE CHOSE to run. Had she not, the cop wouldn't have resorted to his taser, and she wouldn't have gotten hurt. The officer did his job, but he's a bad guy because of it? that.

Honestly its all the cops fault. Main Reason he was 1 foot away from her when he taserd her. If he would have reached out for her he would have grabbed her. She shouldnt have ran? Yes. she was in the wrong for running. but the way i see it is he could have grabbed her if he Wanted to. Off topic: This happend in florida. I Hate this God damn State.

Also, it could've been prevented completely by the lady not running from the cops. Exactly. I totally agree with you. As I said, she's the criminal and everything she did was wrong. I just believe tasing her was wrong and clearly wasn't the ONLY option to go with, seeing how close she was. She also apparently had cocaine and various drugs in her system, so there's another thing against her. And to answer your question, if the cop would've tackled her and she smashed her head that way, I suppose I'd be ok with it if that's the way it went down. But it didn't go down like that, did it?? Oh well, doesn't matter now. The damage is done and it's just really unfortunate that someone's life will never be the same again. Who knows?? Maybe it's for the better. Get her off the road permanently before she causes any further damage....

I just don't like cops, plain and simple. Well then, I suppose you don't like me. What's important here is no body knows or saw what transpired prior to this scenario. Police officers have a one plus one use of force doctrine which allows officers to use one level of force higher that what is being presented too them. Was she assaulting the officer prior to running? If so, he is justified in using his intermediate weapons. There are too many unknowns to judge strictly from that video. Do I feel bad for her? Absolutely.

I do think that he could have caught her considering he tazed her a foot or so away from her.
Still she was the one who decided to resist arrest and run away which made this whole sequence of events happen. If she had not ran away she would not have gotten tazed [or tackled if he did that instead] and this unfortunate accident would have never happened to her.

Here are a few more examples of why I don't like cops. They try and gang up and intimidate you and threaten for NO reason what-so-ever, like shown in this clip: What was that about?? The guy is allowed to film and is asked to leave, which he does and then they gang up on him and throw their weight around for NO reason. And they get away with it. Stuff like that just makes my piss boil. More trustworthy police officers here: Another situation that called for a taser shot, too right?? Come on... The guy is handcuffed in the back of a squad car. What can he possibly do and where can he go?? But, it called for numerous taser shots, right?? Give me a ing break. Talk about excessive force. Thankfully the cop was ing fired for lying on the offiical police report. Another honest, trustworthy cop we can all look up to and be proud of: Seriously, what is that guy's problem?? That obviously called for his gun to be drawn and being so hostile and rough, right?? I'm glad that prick was fired. No excuse for that at all. Protect and serve, my ass. Another example of fine, upstanding police officers doing their job by "protecting & serving" the public: I'm sorry, but there's NO excuse for something like that. That cop should be immediately fired. Not sure if he was or not, but I sure as hell hope so. Those are just a handful of the examples out there and exactly why I don't trust or like cops. It's those buttholes with a badge and a gun and taser that abuse their power that ruin it for the honest cops out there. It's really too bad, but that's the way it is, I suppose.

I pretty much already said my piece. I'm not going to take the time to watch any of those videos either. I'm sure there's a hundred more of them on Youtube. I've got more important things to do than dick around on here arguing about these kinds of things. I learned a long time ago to not waste time trying to change someone's mind.
Are there bad cops? Yes. Are there bad firemen? Yes. Are there bad doctors? Yes. Are there bad dentists? Yes. Are there bad priests? Yes. Are there bad people? Yes.
Do people make mistakes on a DAILY basis? Yes.
If there was a camera following you at work 24/7 would it show you making mistakes? Yes.
For Mr. Old School to say that he doesn't like ALL cops because of the mistakes of few is just plain dumb.
That would be the equivalent of me, as a police officer, saying that I don't like ALL people because of the mistakes of few.
It's just unintelligent. How would you feel if I, as a police officer, went around posting Youtube videos of the horrible things people do to each other (WHICH IS WHY THERE ARE POLICE OFFICERS IN THE FIRST PLACE) only to say that "I hate everybody because some of them hurt each other"?

I agree the fact is had he tackled her, his momentum would have caused her to hit the ground faster and would have turned it from a freak accident to a likely chance. Had he hit her in the leg with a baton she would have tripped and hit her head.
There is bad people out there no matter what they do. There may be a few hundred police officers out there that over use but considering there is thousands upon thousands of police officers out there you can't say there all bad. Most people that hate cops either were arrested or mistreated by 1 or 2 cops. Do you see the thousands of times that a cop does an every day arrest on youtube? Do you see every time a cop catches a guy who stole a car? Do you see every time a cop comes and checks on an elderly woman? Do you see everytime a cop chooses not to pull over someone without a seat belt?

^ If you would take the time to watch the clips I provided, who would blame me for not trusting or liking cops after watching that?? Seriously...
A serious lack of judgement, abuse of power and use of serious excessive force on their part there. I don't blame you for not wanting to watch the clips. If I were a cop, I wouldn't want to watch them either. Those careless pricks give honest cops a bad name.
And I don't believe I ever said I hated ALL cops. I said I hated cops and I should've been more clear to what I really meant.
I said a few times that there are honest ones out there. It's truly a shame that there are those bad cops out there that can't be trusted and bully people and threaten people and clearly use uneeded excessive force, when it didn't call for it at all. Truly a shame.

BashcrashWiley and New Wave. Response? There's no need for any response. BashcrashWiley already said everything that needed to be said. Tell you what, what do YOU do for a living? Because I can guarantee at least one person here's had a bad run-in with someone who works in your field of profession, so that obviously makes you and EVERYONE who works in your field sorry pieces of incompetent sh*t. I mean obviously. I have video proof these guys who are __________ and they're doing bad things, so every single _______ is dirty, obviously. Are there bad cops out there? Yup. There are DIRT sorry cops out there. There are cops that take bribes, cops that cut corners, lie, steal evidence, even injure and kill innocent people. And trust me, nobody hates cops who do engage in activity and behavior like that quite like good cops do. Wanna take a guess who bad cops do the most harm too? Good cops. The police already have a difficult job, a VERY difficult job. It kills me how soldiers, firefighters, paramedics, etc. are treated like royalty, real good ol' fashion American heros, but police are lazy scum. Do the police a favor next time someone hits your car, breaks into your home, or here's a good one, next time you're being robbed/assaulted and you're scared sh*tless... Figure it out yourself if cops are so incompetent. People are so quick to sit on their asses and Google "police brutality" videos and go cry online about "civil rights" and "amendments" that they have no idea about, then when something goes bump in the night, "QUICK CALL 911!" If you're scared to go in your backyard or outside to your car or downstairs to see what or who it is, do you think a cop is anymore eager to go risk never seeing their wife/husband/son/daughter anymore? No, but they do it anyways because that's what their job is, someone has to do it and they stepped up to take that responsibility on their shoulders. Then when they do find someone breaking into your car, turns out it's a 18 year old gang-member trying to act hard, and two-three cops chase him down the street screaming in the middle of the night, and taze him, you get some clown down the street who thinks he's a lawyer filming away from the comfort of his living room, then gladly posts the "SHOCKING POLICE BRUTALITY CAUGHT ON TAPE! POLICE TAZE TERRIFIED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT TRYING TO WALK HOME!" footage on YouTube and now those three cops are coming under fire from every single local news channel, your sergeant and captains are on your ass, internal affairs wants to see you at 8 A.M. the next morning after your 8 hour shift that ends at 7, no sleep for you that night. It's easy to sit at home behind a computer screen and read nice, neat little video descriptions and pass judgement because you have no idea what really went on in the heat of the moment. Going out in the middle of the day or night to a scene where you have no ing clue what is gonna happen is just a wee bit different.

No, actually cops only work 8 hour shifts typically unless we're stuck at crime scene or called in ona bad accident close to the end of our shifts.

So he's not supposed to do his job and stop a fleeing criminal? Give me a break. Sure, it's unfortunate that she's brain dead but she shouldn't have ran from him in the first place. Her family has no one to blame but her for what happened.
