sean's just mad because he said that one guy would win that fight that one time and he didn't. Hopefully everyone remembers that because I sure do. How embarrassing that you thought that that one guy was gonna win. He didn't even come CLOSE to winning. I mean I would be like SOOOOOOOOOOO mortified if I ever embarrassed myself as bad as you did. Come on I know everyone remembers that one time as well as I do. It was to embarrassing for sean making that bad call to forget. I mean what were you thinking? THAT GUY? WINNING? Lol, nope. I would still be embarrassed. Everyone here still remembers and dwells on it as much as I do you know.

Just to clarify the rules guys, you can't criticize Old School or his opinion in this thread but he can criticize yours. Glad we got that out of the way. Surely I can't be the only one excited for Ludwig vs Hardy? Hardy's back is against the wall on this one, and Ludwig......well, he will probably knock Hardy the out. I'm excited for Hardy's and Miller's fights purely because I want them to win so they stick around!

I hope "Bang" puts the squash on Hardy's UFC career after this one is said and done. However, it really should be Akiyama vs. Hardy in a loser leaves fight because they both are on 4-fight lose streaks, correct?? I think that would make more sense, but it is what it is.

After the pre-fight press conference, Overeem and many others on the card were surprised with a drug test. It was revealed today (April 4) that Overeem's sample showed elevated levels of testosterone.
No announcement from the UFC, but he will need to go to the NSAC for a hearing before he gets licensed.

Alistair Overeem (36-11 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is unlikely to fight champion Junior Dos Santos (14-1 MMA, 8-0 UFC) for the UFC heavyweight title this summer at UFC 146.
Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the No. 1 heavyweight contender failed a pre-fight drug test conducted this past Tuesday following a press conference for UFC 146.
Overeem's "A" sample was flagged for an elevated T/E ratio of more than 10-to-1. Kizer said the heavyweight has the right to request the test's "B" sample, which, if negative, would make him eligible to receive a fight license.
The former Strikeforce champion was among six top-billed fighters who were tested for the all-heavyweight pay-per-view event, which takes place May 26 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. All were tested for diuretics, masking agents, anabolic steroids and T/E ratios in addition to drugs of abuse.
Dos Santos, Frank Mir, Cain Velasquez, Roy Nelson and Antonio Silva all passed their tests.
It's not the first time Overeem has run afoul of the NSAC. He was granted a conditional license to fight Brock Lesnar at UFC 141 after missing a pre-fight drug test ordered by the commission, which reinstated out-of-competition testing this past July.
Answering to the commission via telephone during an NSAC hearing held three weeks prior to UFC 141, Overeem said he missed the test because he had flown back to his native Holland to care for his ailing mother and wasn't made aware of the obligation. When he got word, he submitted an invalid blood test conducted by his personal doctor and then submitted urine that wasn't tested.
The NSAC gave him a license on the condition that he submit to a drug test conducted by an accredited laboratory, which he did two days later (and subsequently passed), as well as pass a drug test upon arriving in the U.S. for the Lesnar fight and submit to two random tests.
This past Tuesday's test served as one of those random tests, which also followed a fight-night test at UFC 141.
Because Overeem's conditional license expired on Dec. 31, the NSAC will not receive a disciplinary complaint against him as it does for licensed athletes. Instead, he will need to appear before the commission should he choose to apply for a license, which notably, hadn't been filed for UFC 146.
With one half of May 26's event on the shelf, the UFC may give one of the main-card heavyweights an impromptu title shot. ---------------

With one half of May 26's event on the shelf, the UFC may give one of the main-card heavyweights an impromptu title shot. --------------- ...so if Overeem is out, who would you give the title-shot to? Heavyweight bout: Mark Hunt vs. Stefan Struve Heavyweight bout: Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Shane del Rosario Heavyweight bout: Roy Nelson vs. Antonio Silva Heavyweight bout: Cain Velasquez vs. Frank Mir Personally I would go with Hunt... he's been looking great lately and they could really play-up the whole underdog/comeback story. I think they'd probably go with Mir though.

...apart form Mir though, who would you put before Hunt?

No one else from that card besides Mir should get the title shot.

I kind of agree - it's just it would be a great story with Hunt - and a fresh face in the title picture... Mir always seems to be there. (And I really wanted to see Mir Vs Velasquez!).

Ugh that sucks. Yeah if Reem can't fight it's obviously gotta be Mir who replaces him. And I'd guess maybe Carwin if he's back or Cormier/Barnett to step in against Velasquez.

Looks like it's gonna be JDS vs. Mir, Cain vs. Bigfoot, and Nelson vs. Meathead.

Well I don't mind the way this has turned out, if you don't play by the ing rules then you don't deserve a title shot. I'm glad it's gone to Mir.

It'll be an interesting dynamic too. Mir just broke Nogueira's arm and that's JDS' trainer/mentor.

Man, talk about pissing your title shot away...Lol...I bet if Brock hadn't left and re-signed with WWE, I'm sure they would've talked him into staying around and they would have given him the shot.
Oh well, I think Mir deserves it. Imagine if Mir wins and you are Brock Lesnar sitting back watching it all go down. I bet that would be eating at Lesnar and he would want to come back and smash Mir one more time, but he can't. Not for a year anyway, because apparently that's what he just re-signed with WWE for.
If you cheat, you are bound to get caught. Serves Overeem right.
