I would like to see at least one Sting match in WWE, at Wrestlemania.

I think regardless Sting is definitely an icon. As far as WWE goes, I think the last chance came and went when he refused last year. He's well beyond his prime and as others have mentioned he just wouldn't really fit in today's programming. Don't get me wrong... I'd love to see him in WWE (and the potential for Mattel figures and other WWE related merchandise is limitless). However, he's stuck to his principles for so long. Why abandon them in his twilight years for a brief run with a company he's been so adamant to avoid?

I'd love to see him do one run in WWE, mainly because TNA's programing is so awful I find it hard to watch most of the time so I can't enjoy him. I however don't see it happening nor do i think it diminishes his career.

I just don't think his 'gimmick' would work on wwe these days. It's too over the top compared to any serious competitor in wwe.

I think Sting is an icon like Dusty Rhodes or Terry Funk is (i know they both wrestled for vince) because they had defining moments that wherent for vince and are still regarded as legends and I am sure that a HOF induction and merchandise deal will help the younger fans get into him

WWE needs to make Sting a DVD set, a Mattel Flashback, and induct him into the WWE HOF once his TNA contract expires, is what Animal should have said.
Sting was the number one babyface, in the number one wrestling promotion in the world at one point. He has been to the top of the Mountain and been in the ring with guys like Ric Flair, Great Muta, and Hulk Hogan when it mattered. There is nothing in WWE in 2012 that can add to Sting's legacy imo. Him performing at WrestleMania is just something for a guy like Sting to checkoff his bucket list, not something that adds to his legacy.
That being said, I have no problem with Sting coming in at this point if that is what he wants to do. However, I think Animal's comments are largely laughable, especially coming from Animal.

As (the self-proclaimed) Number One Sting fan in the world, I want to see a DVD set highlighting his career, a Flashback so he can rule my UWA Pic-Fed, and just see him inducted in the HOF. He's a legend, and I think he doesn't need a run in the E' to prove that to anyone. But, I sure would like to see him sign a merchandise deal.

I agree with Animal. You havent made it in this business, until youve danced under the lights of Wrestlemania. All the greats have been at Wrestlemania. I dont get why Sting doesnt want to come here, when TNA is such garbage and trashy. Its as though ECW and WCW had a baby, then dropped it, thats what TNA is.

What is there for Sting to do in WWE? I just can't think of a way for him to make a relevant impact. Sure, there's the dream Undertaker WM match, but like other's have said, why come in just to lose. And, would current WWE fans even care about Sting enough to want to see him face Taker? I would like to see Sting come in to WWE, but I just don't know how it would work at this stage in his career. Manager? GM? Maybe. But, in an in ring capacity I don't see it ever happening.
Animal can say what he wants, but Sting doesn't need to go to WWE to be an Icon. He already is a pro-wrestling legend.

dont forget Vince hates whatever he didnt create. they would make Sting look like a fool somehow. Then again TNA did that with that ridiculous Joker gimmick.

I totally disagree. Sting said that he would never work for Vince, and he hasn't to this day. If anything, I respect Sting more for not going to WWE. He is an Icon, nuff said!

Animal also said he wants to be GM Of SmackDown to compete against Johnny Ace.
Oh, if it wasn't for TNA and Dixie Carter, Sting would of retired for 2 years ago.

He's already a well known legend to wrestling fans worldwide: Sting does not need WWE.

I love Sting, but I think the ship has passed on this one.
It would be nice to get a 3 disc DVD of his life and career, though. WWE does a damn good job with those.

I don't think he needs WWE at this point. A few years ago I wouldn't of been against it since taker was still at the height putting on great matches(he hasn't wrestled a full schedule in like two years, though they have been good matches) and whoever else he could of feuded with like HBK were still around. Now I would just like to see him sign a nice legends deal so we can get a Mattel figure,a couple DVDs and a HOF induction.

Disagree alot.
WWE may be the "mecha" of Profressional Wrestling, but Sting didn't need a Wrestlemania to get himself known worldwide. I think this is the case of " Oh look I'm in the WWE Hall of Fame, WWE is Profressional Wrestling!! " with Animal, which is kinda sad knowing the history himself and Hawk have had.

It's entirely Vince Mcmahon's fault, I think 10 years ago, if they had shown Sting that they weren't just going to use him to put over their talent, then he would have gone.
Steiner - Used to put over HHH then moved to mid card. Booker T - Moved straight to mid Card. Hogan - Put over Rock. Hall (and Nash) - Put over Austin then mid card. DDP - Put over Taker then mid card. Goldberg - Terrible run.
They would have done the same with Sting.

I think the fact that Sting is such a huge name never being in WWE is pretty awesome in itself.
