If he gets fired over that it'll be absolutely ridiculous. Ozzie's always had a big mouth (which they should've well known before signing him) but him being fired over it would just add to the gaudiness of the new Marlins. It was no where near a Marge Schott quote (clearly meaning it could've been a lot worse) and hopefully they just apologize to whoever the uber-sensitive crowd was that was offended by it and move on.
Like, at the end of a day, who really gives a sh*t what Ozzie Guillen thinks about Fidel Castro? Does it truly make a lick of difference to anyone, anywhere?

Yes, it matters to the people in Miami and South Florida, a good number of whom Venezuelan and Cuban, who pay to show up to the games and support the team. If he said this while managing Chicago, it would not be nearly as big a deal.

The thing that makes no sense about Girardi and his binder full of math equations, is that he doesn't even use righty/lefty the right way.
On Saturday during Game 2, he brings in Rapada to face some lefties. OK, fine. But then he leaves Rapada in to face the righty Longoria and 2 runs score which end up being the difference in the game.
Sunday during Game 3, he brings in Boone Logan, again to face some lefties. Great. He does an AWESOME job. Then he leaves in Boone Logan to face the righty Jeff Keppinger and it results in a home run.
Clearly both of the Yankees left handed relievers can not pitch against right handed batters, and Girardi is so obsessed with right/lefty that you would think he would know that by now.
I'm convinced his stupid binders are filled with sudoku and porn. He looks like he's trying solve a math problem, not manage a baseball game.

Somebody just make Lorenzo the manager of the Yankees. Apparently he knows how to manage a baseball team. Jesus ing Christ, it's three games into the season. I'll be laughing my ass off when the Yankees are a game away from the World Series.

If he said this while managing Chicago, it would not be nearly as big a deal. I just mean how can him saying anything effect anyone's life? I guess it's moving away from what was said and more into philosophy but you know. People just make a big deal about things for no reason sometimes. I guess I feel bad for the people that hear someone say "I love Fidel Castro" and are thrust into immediate discomfort but I'm sure there are plenty of Cubans and Venezuelans in Miami and South Florida who heard that and felt little to know effect from it. It's a dumb thing to say but was clearly a 'grain of salt' situation.

Does anybody here have an MLB.tv subscription? I'm debating whether to get MLB.tv or to just get the extra innings package with my cable company.

The thing that makes no sense about Girardi is why he's the Yankee skipper.

With extra innings you can watch on your tv only. With MLB.tv you can watch on all internet connected devices (Computer, Phone, PS3/Xbox)

Despite Nova letting up ten hits, he looks in' sharp tonight. 2 runs over 7 innings? I'll take it. He's also struck out seven, with Mark Reynolds only being one of them, that's an accomplishment.

Yeah, he looked really good. Not surprising considering he was really good last year. Him and Hellickson both have bright futures, despite pitching in the east.

I hate Joe Maddon, now every team is going to put on the shift against the Yankees.

You know it's spring when wacky things like the Giants actually scoring runs and the only starting pitcher that's looked decent is Zito who just pitched a 4 hit complete game shutout at freaking Coors.
