I was a little surprised he didn't get it.
Do you think he knew ahead of time or was it an on the spot decision?

I'm still holding out that it was all a work and Ryan's going to be a loose cannon showing up whenever he wants.

Joey Ryan posted the following on his Twitter, following his TNA Gutcheck angle on this week's Impact:
"What a joke. @impactwrestling is pathetic. I'm not good enough for your company? C'mon @tnadixie really? You make me laugh! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Don't bring me in just for your NO agenda. It's not my fault that Flair went into business for himself so why am I being punished?! Pritchard, @therealalsnow & @officialtaz know that a NO is ridiculous. They know I'm money. I dare Tazz to say something to my face now. Somebody tell Johnny Ace he can reach me at joeyryan@hotmail.com - I know he's not stupid enough to turn down money."

Joey Ryan is a terrible wrestler. He can't work the ring at all and he isn't even remotely marketable. I don't blame TNA and I doubt he will ever get a WWE development deal unless he allows WWE to completely remove his gimmick and change his in ring appearance.

He sounds really arrogant and he's not even as good as he thinks he is. Maybe this bad attitude is why he's stuck on the indys and not in the major league.

I remember reading that people loved Joey getting in Taz's face and it all seemed a little shoot to me. I'm not sure on it. Like I said in the impact thread. Joey Ryan is good as a natural bad ass, who sees himself better then everyone else. I've never liked the porn star thing(Hollywood gimmick) but it works sometimes I guess.

I won't say anything about his ring work as i didn't see his match with Aries. However i will point out how he's too over the top with his gimmick(It comes off as a cartoon or really goofy movie character) his mic skills were not too great(Which is just as important as wrestling skills) With where he is now i don't blame then for turning him down. He need to work on his mic skills and refine his gimmick and maybe then he could be someone that people would wanna see on TV each week.

He's decent and good ENOUGH to be a mid/lower-card talent on a roster, but by no means is he as great as some claim he is. And before you pull the "you haven't seen his other stuff" card. Yes, I've seen his PWG stuff (early-now), his WSX stuff and his short stint in ROH with The Embassy. Do I think he should've been shot down (if it's legit)? No. Do I think the 87% that think he's one of the best on the indies today are off their rockers? Yes. Willie Mack > Joey Ryan... eh, maybe not by appearance. Haha

Joey Ryan practically screwed himself over. He was suppose to cut a promo as to why he want's to be in iMPACT Wrestling instead he claimed them he'd make them money and was trending world wide on twitter. Although his mic skills are good I'd give him that and knowing that people dislike this guy for being arrogant it's his cockiness actually not arrogance. He's a good heel as well. And please don't bitch for his arrogance totally a stupid reason to mark down Joey Ryan for it when he is a HEEL. Bret Hart said in his book a Wrestler who is a Heel always believes he is right and everybody else is wrong.

Hulk Hogan's twitter says there working on the Ryan situation right now, maybe Taz gaffed last night? I'd say that by now Joey Ryan's paid his dues. He's had more tryout matches and his passion for the business is decent. I encourage you guys to listen to Colt Cabana's podcast with Joey Ryan. He may have been aggravated, but from the podcast it really seems like he is a nice guy who is working hard on his character.

Not sure what that has to do with Joey Ryan being better than Gunner, Crimson, EY, Robbie E, Alex Silva, Garrett and Hernandez. How many guys even have as much personality as Ryan on the entire TNA roster? Pope, Roode and Bully Ray are really it when it comes to heels, and we haven't seen Pope for months. Joey Ryan has talent that translates into entertainment value, that's something TNA needs IMO. The Roderick Strong's of the world may be great workers but they can't get over in places like TNA and WWE because all they can do is work. What Joey Ryan does, works for what TNA does, it's really that simple. Not sure who has been claiming his greatness as more than what it is either, since we clearly discuss him working towards the tv title. He would be great for the TV or Tag division IMO.

Saying Joey Ryan is an Austin Aries knock off when Joey Ryan did it first... For longer. Idiots.

That kind of makes me feel like it's a work. Between the Hogan tweet and him playing to the 87% thing and calling out Tazz. I personally loved that and would really like to see the Twitter reaction on Thursday. If this is work, this is one of the coolest ways to bring in a guy in recent memory. For the record, Raven said himself that he didn't feel accomplished in his career until he won the NWA/TNA World Title. Meaning that while he loved his time in ECW and he was their top guy, he really didn't consider them on the same level as TNA. So Joey Ryan is kind of correct in saying that about Tazz being a two time world champion imo. Ryan was PWG World Champion for more than a year and probably worked similar size crowds and shows, minus all the smarky, violent, hostility. I loved ECW and still watch tons of that stuff on DVD on a weekly basis, but it is often romanticized in terms of its contention with WWE and WCW. It was definitely the ROH to TNA and WWE imo. I know that is sort of off subject but I'm sure some people went "blasphemy," which is hardly the case in my eyes.
