Like hearing fun childhood collecting memories. Ill start with 2
LJN- I was at the mall with my mom and went to a toy store that i think was called Circus World. This store never had anything other than the usual guys. This time however i was stunned when i walked in and found an endcap filled with bret hart, jim neidhart, b brian blair, jim brunzell and jake the snake. M mom intially said i could pick 2 but after i pleaded with her she let me have all 5 (yes i was pretty spoiled). It was a good thing too because i never saw any of them again.
From the hasbro era- Walking into a Hills and finding the entire green card series. Still have them MOC, i was around 14 or 15 then and wasnt playing with them anymore. The price tag is still on a couple of them $2.99. haha

My amazing Gran bought me wwf hasbro ax and smash Christmas 1990, a time when we had no money, my grandad died and father left a few years prior in the same week, I expected nothing at all that year. A very powerful memory for me and sad at the same time.

Nice. Sadly i was born in 89 but my bro collected them. So when hasbros were released, i only remember being in the store with my dad i was real young, but i have pics of getting Repo man, Tatanka, Doink, Giant Gonzalez. I do not really no how i remember because i was like only 2 years old if that when i got them, but thats my best memories of actually getting them myself.
I never could accept the fact that, hasbros were not around anymore. I remember when LOD tag team sets were released and i was still looking for Hasbros in the store, because i had no idea why they were not released anymore lol.

I found the first series at payless (riteaid now) and bought bossman 1 and I was sitting in the car playing with him while my mom went grocery shopping when she came back she got me hulk 1 because bossman needed someone to fight. Pretty awesome cus we were pretty poor as a kid. I had a friend who was really well off and a huge wwf fan and I loved having demolition crush before he did, it drove him nuts and one of the only times I had something he didn't (that didn't last long)

Not only is thus my earliest wrestling memory, its the earliest memory of my life:
It was my 3rd birthday party (1988) & my grandmother was dubbed the "queen of garage sales." She always found great stuff there. This year, its where my bday present came from. I got the AWA wrestling ring with an LJN bendie in each corner (Piper, Sheik, Steele, & Volkoff ). The party might as well have ended there, because I wanted no part of any other gifts. I was all about my first ring. My mom, who was 8 1/2 months pregnant at the time, sat on the floor with me & struck up a deal that I could play for a few seconds between gifts. Apparently, I was extremely detailed with each move, as everyone had to go through the ropes to leave the ring, I wouldn't just take them out. There are multiple photos of this, with me in the absolute ugliest red overalls/shorts combo.

A few great memories: Finding the Yellow Carded set at TRU right before Christmas, I had no knowledge that the cards would be changing. I was allowed to open one from that set early, I chose Razor Ramon. As the line was winding down, maybe around the time of the Dark Blue Cards, I was able to find Ultimate Warrior 2 and Honky Tonk Man at a Schottensteins (Value City). That was very exciting. Also, finding Kamala at a KayBee , when other stores were onto the purple and blue sets. Kamala was always hard to come by before then.

I remember the only reason i have Brutus 2, is i am sitting home one day as a young kid and my cousin comes over, and has one in his hand. I later find out he stole it from the kid next door, he left it behind outside his house. I was happy to get it, but i always wonderd whos initials were on the bottom of his feet.

I remember going to a yard sale and my parents buying me a big box full of loose Hasbro figures. At the time i only had 4 (jake roberts, earthquake, bret hart, butch). I spent the next two weeks just playing with them and setting up my storylines.
I miss the days of spending the entire day playing with wrestling figures.

Summer of either 00 or 01 we would go to my local flea markets every weekend and every weekend I went home with a different hasbro. My fondest memory was getting an Evil Crush loose for $25.

Mine is possibly when I received the blue Hasbro ring from my mom, I dont remember if it was a holiday or "just because," possibly the latter. I only had two Hasbro figs (Tatanka and Savage in his fringe ring jacket) but I would use a bunch of different figures to wrestle with in that ring. I used Iron Mans, Terminators, all kinds of action figures, but my favorites were the GI Joes, as small as they were they were really articulated. They were almost like the midget wrestlers of my collection lol
Another was when I saw the very first line of BCA figs in KB Toys, I got Bret fast, he was always my favorite wrestler, sill is to this day

My mommy and Daddy loved me alot! LJN, My first LJN was Tito Santana, I wanted my hero, Ricky Steamboat but Hills didn't have him that day. So, Mommy only bought me the one, then two weeks later, I got "the Dragon"! I didn't get the rest for a while and an even longer while for the ring. I actually used a box top with Pencils for ring posts and yarn for the ropes. I had a blast!
I was about 13 when the Hasbro line was first released and again I was loved and doted on by my parents, and that Christmas, I got the entire first series! I also got a bootleg ring too! Becase the Hasbro ring wasn't yet released. I still have all of my LJNs and Hasbros! I miss my mommy and daddy.

As crazy as it sounds- that new LJN smell when I opened any new figure. One particular memory was when my aunt let me order from The Wreslting Ring company for my birthday two more LJNs to add to my nearly complete collection. I chose to order Kamala and Hacksaw. It felt that I was waiting forever for the delivery. Once day, I just had this feeling that it was the day, so I faked being sick, convinced my mom to let me stay home from school, and just my luck, the UPS truck showed up that morning! Once of the best "sick" days from school ever.
This may sound even more crazy, but I recently purchased an inexpensive MOC LJN George Steele from Ebay with a rough looking card just to be able to open my first new LJN figure in over 20 years! Still had that same smell...and it did bring me back a bit. I have an even more crazy story (somewhat recent) about how I was able to get one last taste of the WWF Ice Cream Bars, but I'll save that for another thread.

Walking into a second hand shop in Shawlands with my Gran when i was about 10. At the back of the shop there was a box of carded Hasbros fior £1 each. There were figures i had never seen before but i had no pocket money because i had already spent it. My Gran said if they were really rare she would get me the ones i didn't have. Ended up walking away with El Matador, Berzerker, Repo Man and Ric Flair! I was so happy

I was 3 or 4 playing w/the first series of LJNs. From there, tons of memories picking through random stores looking for which wrestlers had toys of themselves. Nearly all of them are fuzzy but one thing I do remember is visiting Toys R Us one day and seeing DiBiase and One Man Gang. I got Ted, cousin got OMG.
My grandma bought nearly all of them that my cousin and I had. She was a huge wrestling fan herself and got all her grandkids into it.
I picked up a bunch at garage sales here and there, and remember being at one while my family was on vacation and finding a bunch for 50 cents. Most were mint/near mint (like it mattered at the time, as I was about 9) but I found some that I'd never seen in stores including the Bulldogs which I was ecstatic to see. I think my parents bought me everything in the box that I didn't already have. Good times!
One last one that popped into my head, this was around 2001. My mom and grandma had a weekend routine of going around to garage sales, and at the time I was heavy into collecting. They just happened to be at one a mile or two from my work, and I was doing a rare Saturday morning bonus shift. They called me right as I was leaving work to tell me about the wrestling figures that were there, and when I ended up getting the Hasbro Smokin Gunns for 50 cents each. Not sure who else I got, but I can't forget the Gunns. I had them already, but what a find! I sold them and traded up for something else I needed for my collection (as always)
