I was mainly a WCW fan in the 90s, so I can't recall it at the time, no.

I was almost 15 and was watching with my friend at his uncles house. We were so shocked we didnt really talk for the rest of the night. I didnt even go to school the next day I was so upset.

sean is the only member here who I know went to the PPV...a part of me wants to get his attention of this thread, but another part of me would rather he not share...y'know, the details.

I was in 8th grade and wasn't home that night so i recorded the ppv. When i got home i watched it and was surreal...i was in shock. Couldn't back into it after JR announced his death. HHH/Rock and Austin/Taker followed that and their matches were off...can't blame them though.
When Taker came out you can tell he was in the back crying and when Austin's music hit he had that heartbroken look when he glimpsed at the spot Owen fell - reports were saying some of his blood was still there on the mat and they cleaned up whatever they could and avoided camera angles there.
Very tragic night...i still have the tape somewhere but i just can't get into it.

Yeah I was watching it with a few friends and it was pretty surreal. I was in my mid twenties at the time and I still remember it very clearly.

I remember I was sitting in history class. I was a Soph in HS. I heard the news b/c I picked up my teachers USA today. I had fallen out of wrestling interest a little bit during the attitude era for the only time in my life. I just wasn't into it b/c I was a Bret fan and when he left WWF I just lost interest. I was literally speechless when I read what happened to Owen who always served as like a second favorite. I loved the Hart's and the HF. I couldn't stop thinking about what Bret must be going through and that poor family. There have been a LOT of wrestling deaths over the years but none stuck with me like that one. After reading about what happened to Owen I just couldn't get it out of my head the rest of the day and week. It bothered me at school. I tried to talk to other friends about it and see their feelings on it but no one was as big of a wrestling fan as I was in my school. I'll never forget the time around when Owen left. It was like innocence lost in WWF to be honest. Owen was a prince in a land of monsters somewhat. Just tough to swallow. Perfect and Bulldog passing really bothered me as well.

I just remember showing up to my friends house a little late into the show and they were just showing the crowd. And then JR made the announcement. Yeah, that night sucked. R.I.P. Owen.

I was 13. Owen was my favorite. I remember my dad wanted to cut back on ppv buying so he would only get me the big ones. Instead we watched some made for tv "Jesse Ventura Story" movie that debuted that night. The news came on after and I cried my eyes out

I was over a buddy's house down in his theater room in his basement. (yes he was rich) and there was about 15 of us watching the ppv. And as terrible as this sounds, during the lead in to the match, a friend of mine actually said "I hate owen hart. kill yourself" as a joke. Then it happend. And we all looked at him like wtf and he was stunned. white as a ghost. nobody smiled or said much the rest of the night. We still talk about him calling that like that. He was weirded out by it for a long time. I still have the next night's raw on tape.

I remember watching it live too. There was never any video footage from the show, but I remember seeing a few photos in WOW Magazine taken by photographers in the hard cam section while they were performing CPR. I believe that's all that ever surfaced.

I wasn't watching Over The Edge, but was shocked when it was on the news in the morning.
