Evening everyone The Rumble, wow. DAMMIT VINCE! Anyway, Cena is most likely gonna go for Rock at Mania, so are WWE even going to mention the "Once in a Lifetime" thing, or ignore it. Or are they going to come up with some excuse? I mean they released a DVD about it, a years worth of build-up, just to be like "Nah it, do it again." If they bother to make an excuse, what do you think it'll be? I think it'll be Rock is a fighting Champion, giving everyone but CM Punk a second chance! - One In Need Of Enlightenment

I know it's the obvious thing to assume, but how does anybody really know that's what we're getting? Hell yeah the WWE can be blatantly obvious and predictable most of the time, but they're no stranger to a curveball. We could see anything at this point.

The WWE doesn't give a crap about legacy or all this personal once in a lifetime crap, jeez.
It's about money and if it'll sell it'll sell. Ie HBK Taker...

They've already binned the "Once in a lifetime" when referring to the match.
It's just so painfully obvious.

It was a tagline to sell the pay-per-view, they probably knew about the rematch the entire time.

Lol @ people thinking that the "Once in a Lifetime" tag is so finite.

"History Repeats Itself"?
Maybe, just maybe though, Cena will shock us and pick ADR for 'Mania. That is the last bit of hope I have.

They'll just say it's destined to happen. Not that difficult to explain tbh.

I wouldn't mind if they said "We thought it would only be once in a lifetime, but it's happening again." I read a while back that the plan is for three of these. Rock wins one, Cena wins the next, then Cena takes the rubber match. It's a way of Rock passing the torch to Cena. I don't think the torch needs to be passed nor is Rock the guy to pass it, but it is what it is.

How is Cena the one that needs to receive the torch? I can understand this happening in 2006 - 2007, but it's 2013 and Cena has been with the company for 11 years.

Hogan passed the torch to Rock, who then was done full-time by Summerslam of the same year. Like he deserved to be passed the torch either.

Cena challenges the champion who just happens to be Rock...nothing to explain really. I'm sure they will mention the last match being once in a lifetime plenty but its different now that its about the belt.

Let's face it, the second the referee's hand touched the mat for the third time and Rock beat Cena, we all knew this was going to happen.
As far as going against the "once in a lifetime" thing... Unless you've only started watching wrestling in the past 24 hours, you'd know that that phrase means zero anyways.
