Damn what the woman said in the interview was some harsh $hit. "Do I believe gays have a purpose, No I honestly don't" after saying gay students have come to her for help. That's kinda sickening..the parents and teachers involved should get hate crime charges for sure.

What's so amazing about all of this is that, supposedly, this is a public school. These kinds of things should undoubtedly result of the firing of anyone involved, particularly that special education teacher.

"We want to make the public see that we love the homosexuals, but we don't think it's right nor should it be accepted," said a local student." BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I literally laughed out loud at that. Pure ing ignorance of the first order. "We love you but....we don't want anything to do with you. Oh and by the way we think your lifestyle is hateful and offensive. But we love you, remember that." The other part of the article that makes me kinda uncomfortable is how even the people speaking out against the separate prom go straight to the Jesus card to explain why. Can't it just be flat-the- -out WRONG to discriminate? Don't even need to reach for a religious reason why.

Church/Religion needs to stay the hell out of Schools.
As a gay male myself, I refuse to go to church for the fact they preach hate. Church is suppose to be about God and his love. Now it's turning from that to nothing but hate.
I feel I absolutely have a purpose, and people who dislike/bash gays are the ones who need a reality check because my life affects them that much. If you cannot accept someones gay, then thats your issue. If you can't let it go and you need to go on and on about it, then you need to check your pathetic life.
Religion does not belong in Schools, the work place, government and what not. Religion belongs in Church, and in your home if your religious, thats it.
God created all... in HIS IMAGINE. I'm gay, congrats. He made me that way, he brought my significant other into my life almost three years ago. If he hated gays, he would of removed them from the earth a long time ago. He blesses me everyday with fantastic people and a great life. Like it or not.
I do believe in God, but I refuse to believe the bullcrap thats spewed at church. Some churches are a cult in my honest opinion.

If you believe something, it effects every aspect of your life, or at least it should. But you are correct, the amount of churches that do preach hate is appalling. I am a Christian, and am a former youth pastor, and I had at least one openly gay student in my youth group. While I do not agree with his choices, I would never have thought to exclude him from any of those activities...he was not the only student who I did not agree with on choices they made Far to often Christians in America forget that Jesus never came up to people and pointed out their faults, except in the case of the religious leaders...it makes me wonder what he would say to the religious leader of our day.

Seems like there is one high profile story involving the same prom/gay bans each year. You would think school boards would be smart enough to learn from the mistakes of other schools, but still they come off as extremely ignorant

Wabash...I was trying to think of where I'd heard that before, then I realized it's about 60 miles away from me. Practically everyone around this area holds deep seated, bigoted beliefs, so this doesn't really surprise me at all. Regardless, it's absolutely revolting. Hopefully this video causes that special ed teacher to be fired as soon as possible.

Screw 'em. Let them waste their money to have a prom where they ban gay people. The gay people will go to the school sponsored prom and have a good time without those bigots.
