As far as I know, the foot itself is not made up from seperate parts, right?

I've had that happen one time with an older Elite, but I just plugged it back into the foot.

I had a sole that was partially lifted out. Right around the toe area, it doesn't quite stay in but I never tried to re-glue it. I can't remember which figure.

yes. I actually purchased a couple ofthe orton pieper 2 packs that the orton was not put together righ and the sole on the heel wouldn't go in place because the inside of the boot was distorted from crap assembly. It's hard to explain, but frustrating. I dremeled out what they had messed up and fixed the mistake. Anyways some glue and you should be ok.

Mine started to. I had a rant in another thread about them fixing non-issue issues. A couple of crazies rant on and on and on about the ankles being loose on figures as if it's all of them, and Mattel listens and ratches the feet on so tight that I can't move most of the figures ankles from E17 up without worrying that I'm going to pop another sole.
Seriously, I have 108 Elites (just counted the other day) and other than the old Cena shoe mold, only 5 or 6 have what I would classify as loose ankles. E12 Orton stays in the back of my display, to prop against the case wall. That's an isolated problem. These are mass market toys made in China. I have every figure from Elite 17 and 19 and only lack Rey to have all of 18, and the overly tight ankles affect all but Kofi. Think about this: How many people go online to write a review about a store that they liked? Now how many go online to bitch about something? I remember at one of the Q&A's when being asked about the weak ankles, the interviewee said something to the effect of "I've never heard that before." That's because a handful of people having bad luck with an isolated problem doesn't constitute the majority who have been silent about having no problems with the ankles.
I don't play with my figures, but the new ankles make changing poses take longer. I do feel sorry for the people who play with the figures or animate, however.

I'm guessing it's just missing some glue, but I haven't experienced this before!

Basic and elite. Latest being basic Brock. How about because YOU don't have an issue doesn't mean others don't.

Statistically speaking, that's pretty much impossible to be a line wide issue. An isolated issue or even half a run of figures doesn't constitute being line-wide. Just like the sole popping off might be an isolated one, but with me having 17 of the 18 figures from the last three elite sets and 16 of them are entirely too tight leads me to think otherwise. Not trying to push it too hard, but if it was every figure every time, there would be threads about loose ankles every single day with 5-6 pages of discussion. That's how this forum works, we all know it.

That's how this forum works, we all know it. A major company like mattel doesnt alter their product unless enough REAL feedback gets to them. its not every figure every time. but its enough that it is/was unacceptable to them and they made a change. they didnt make a change because about 100 collectors on a forum complained, they clearly got feedback that was more widespread. but we will agree to disagree
