So 10 years ago we were on the road to quite possibly one of the absolute best WrestleMania's ever, XIX. Just on paper it looked like the most stacked a Mania had ever been; Austin/Rock 3, HBK/Jericho, Angle/Lesnar, Booker/Triple H, Hogan/Michael, plus a pretty impressive undercard and midcard. The build to every match was amazing and well done, every beat was well placed and worked out, everyone was gunning to top the show in the 3 month run-up to the event. Austin/Rock's build is seriously one of the best builds I've ever seen, maybe only being topped by Austin/Rock at 17 and Austin/Hart at 13. Then with the show, man that show was incredible, seriously one of the best Mania's ever if you ask me, every piece was done right, from celebrity appearances, to music performances, to matches. WrestleMania 19 will always or atleast should always be considered one of the best ever. This year however, now I'm not one to be negative, I like to look on the brightside of everything, but this year, not one thing is standing out to me. I was so interested in Swagger/Rio, but they ruined that within weeks by making it childish and taking away any real animosity between the two. Ryback, one of the few guys that I am a fan of seems to be jumping between fueds and builds; at this point every match should be set and building. And Punk/Taker, wow that could have been something so special, but due to time, laziness and a clear lack of caring on Punk's part (as much hate as I'm gonna get, he does seem to be slightly childish at times when it comes to creative ) its turned into a rushed hodgepodge that is built over a real-life death that took place two weeks ago. It just seems that every aspect they got right 10 years ago, they have forgotten and dismissed this year, sadly.

To be honest, I wasn't a big fan of WM XIX, in fact I find it to be highly overrated. I did think it was a good show, but for me something was missing.
Sure it was Austin/Rock 3 at Wrestlemania, but by that point Austin & Rock had just as many matches as Kofi and Ziggler have had. With all of the dream match potential, to go back to Austin/Rock was a dissapointment to me. (Though in hindsight with it being Austin's last match and all, I undertstand why they did it.) People are saying they don't want rematches for Cena/Rock and Lesnar/HHH, but this match was done more.
Then half of the roster was left off the show. (Kane, RVD, Storm, Dudleys, Jeff Hardy, Christian, Scott Steiner, etc.) This would be the equalivant of Ziggler, Bryan, Rhodes, Kane, Sandow, Barrett, Miz and Cesaro being left off this years card.
Like I said before, I don't think the show was bad at all, Mystero/Hardy was good, we got one of the best Diva's matches of that era, Michaels and Jericho stole the show and Lesnar and Angle was good.
But Triple H/Booker was a snoozefest, Hogan/McMahon, (while it did turn out to be a good brawl, with a nice surprise of Piper), was more about hype, I honestly don't remember one thing about the tag team title match (and I'm not trying to be funny because it involved Benoit), I'm serious, and by that point, I didn't care to see Rock face Austin again. Let's not forget the classic Keibler & Wilson vs. The Catfight girls.
WM XIX just didn't do it for me. I think the mid card was missing. Had there been a MITB at the time with Christian, Jeff Hardy, RVD, Kane, Lance Storm and Steiner it could have filled that missing void. (I know MITB didn't come along until 21, just stating if)
Then again it's all perception.

This really has been one of the absolute worst Roads to Wrestlemania we've ever been on. I'm seriously debating on ordering it this year, and I've ordered every single one since Wrestlemania 12.

I LOVED it! Y2J/HBK is one of my favorite matches of the Ruthless Aggression Era. Just the way the feud was built up was great. Every other match was pretty good besides for HHH/Booker which like others said, was pretty boring. Not to mention the stage is my favorite Mania stage of all time

The best Mania of all time (along with 17)! Just watched it the other day. Brock/Angle & HBK/Jericho are two of my favourite matches of all time and Rock/Austin & Vince/Hogan were awesome.

It really was. The feeling while watching Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels was insane, Booker T and Triple H were amazing even though Booker should have won the title imo, seeing Piper interfere in the Hogan/Vince match was crazy, Austin and Rock got to finish their classic rivalry, and Brock Lesnar ed up a perfect Kurt Angle match. Such a great Wrestlemania.

The last great WM. The rest have been boring or just GOOD at best imo. Didn't you think 21 was great? I always had the idea that 21 was the last great 'Mania.

I loved 21 it was a good show and i was there live and even went to HOF. I do think 19 was the better show, but i guess one could say 21 was the last great wm. Sucked Booker was only on the battle royal pre show though.

This was the peak for me as a wrestling fan. Just watching that video and the opening of the show has completely soured me on this years show and build up. This year has been HORRIBLE or maybe i'm just not into it anymore like i was during the 17/18/19 time period.

I remember when I looked back on WM19 just one year on & now it's 10 years on. Wow. One of my faves of all time, definitely.

Something about the atmosphere of XIX was just incredible. I don't know if it was just the idea of the baseball stadium or what, but I always thought what XIX was is what XX should have been. Not that I don't look at XX fondly, but XIX seems to really define that time period.
Wrestlemania X-Seven is my favorite of all time, I think that show is about as perfect an event as can be, but XIX would likely be my second favorite.
