So after having watched a very predictable and lackluster WM29 (IMO), questionable decisions have made me wonder where the hell this company is going. This may sound like a neg post, and it is, but it appears that the WWE is not attempting at all to fix any of their current problems. Some of the results that are confusing to me are...
- Ryback loosing to Henry. Seriously? This is the guy who 6 months ago was being built up as the guy to have a legit chance at dethroning Cena. Then after coming out on the losing end of feuds w/ Punk and the Shield (where Ryback never got revenge), the guy needed a big win desperately. Instead of giving him a huge win over Henry, they had the older guy who won't be around much longer get the win. Ryback may have walked out dominant, but he still lost.
- Hell No vs Dolph/Biggie Langston...Didn't really matter who won this match because all four men have no direction right now. Team Hell No lost a ton of steam months ago and there was a ton of anticipation for a big break up match here. Instead there team is being dragged out. Dolph simply can't get a win to save his life, and he is the MITB holder. I fear he'll simply cash in to win the title, and quickly lose it in his first title defense. Dolph, Bryan, and Langston are all apart of the WWE's future going forward, yet all of them have had no direction for months and tonight did nothing to change that.
- Swagger losing to Del Rio. I get Swagger had the DUI and might be suspended, but w/ Brock, Dolph, Punk, and Langston loosing, they needed some heel to get over. Instead of giving it to Swagger or any of the previous guys mentioned, it was given to the 40+ Mark Henry. Swagger will most likely go back to being a directionless midcarder now.
- HHH over Brock. HHH didn't need this win. That's a fact. The guy barely wrestles, and the WWE put themselves in a corner by putting the guys career on the line. Even w/ that stipulation, they could have pulled the usual BS where he comes out of retirement. Its simply hard to take Brock seriously as this dominant monster when he lost to a guy who barely wrestles 2-3 times a year and is 1-2 since coming back. I have a hard time taking Brock seriously anymore given he lost to Cena after two moves and now to a past his prime HHH.
- Where to go w/ Punk? His feud w/ Taker entertained me and the match was pretty good (nothing memorable to me but one of the best of the night). But w/ Taker gone for another year now and Punk having lost to Rocky twice already and Cena on the road to WM, what is there for him to do now? He has already had a ton of matches w/ Cena and I'm not too excited to see him go toe to toe w/ him again, especially w/ Cena just starting his 11th friggin title reign. Rumor has it he might take time off now, but if he does or doesn't, I'm not sure where they can go w/ him, especially w/ both of Heyman's guys loosing tonight.
So w/ Cena starting his 11th title reign and everyone else on the roster in limbo, where does the WWE go from here? It appears that this year will be another year where the midcard is neglected and the focus is all on Cena, Rocky (when he comes back), and possibly HHH whenever he decides to put his face back on TV. Anyone else feel like this?
