Was anyone else really annoyed by how they really shoved the app down our throats last night. It was literally every couple minutes. I already had the app and I deleted it because I was so annoyed.
I don't even get this second screen crap anyway. If you are spending millions of dollars to broadcast a show, wouldn't you want to have the full attention of your audience? It makes no sense to distract the audience from your own flagship show. To me it makes me feel like WWE is saying RAW isn't that good or important so you show do something else.

The action continues on USA but it continues right now for those who chose to download the wwe app!
Still less annoying than tout.

They were annoying with it last night. All they accomplished me with is make me think I should delete it from my phone, since it's been a while since I even used it.

wow it's a good thing nobody on here is running a business. WWE is a business and it it is their job to promote ther new product as much as possible.

But there is a big difference between promoting something, and blatatly shoving something in your face to the point where you are sick of it. That is actually counter productive. There are people out there who will not buy or do certain things because they are so over exposed. On the flip side there are the over obsessed fans that will buy anything you throw at them, so you have to find that happy medium. Last night wasn't that. Although I haven't minded them hyping in in the past. With the execption of them thinking they have to teach people how to download the app.

It was the top story on wwe.com during Raw, not live Raw results, not new Extreme Rules matches, but how to download the god damn app.
I think the suits have a hard on for apps, because at this point I don't think anyone needs that many reminders to use the app, or to download it.

It's like they forgot how to play it cool with stuff. Mention it a couple times. Having fans vote on a match via the app is perfectly fine. Showing what's going on on the app during matches is ridiculous.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how much they talked about.

Yep, overkill for sure. I think the polls work the best. I also have no problem with them going, we are going to commercial but follow the action on the WWE app or whatever. But don't go, "Did you download it? Did you get it? Do you have it? Do you know about our app yet? Can I tell you about it? Did you get it?!?!" You have to create a demand for it without shoving it down our throat. We shouldn't be surprised though. WWE markets the same way they book, to minimal effect.

I own a promotions business and the first thing I tell any of my clients is that, if they're trying to selling something and haven't gotten sick of the sight or sound of it, they aren't talking about it enough.
I wouldn't mind betting that Cole, King and JBL are all sick of the sound of it and have been for far longer than we have.

It was definitely annoying but I did use it a few times last night. (To watch the off tv action in the six man, vote for Big E's opponent and hear Ziggler's promo)

I'm tired of WWE. All it is now is videos and self promotion, and only a couple of minutes of wrestling.

It seemed like Michael Cole was earning a commission for every time he mentioned the word "app" last night. Why else would you say it six times in less than a minute?

They talked about the WWE app so much on RAW last night that I deleted it off my iPhone.

I like the idea of the app having interviews during dull, pointless matches. It's a good way (in theory) to keep people from changing the channel.

The only thing I didn't like about what they did last night was when they told you to go watch something on the app while there was already a match going on. I thought it was great when they actually promoted that a match would be continuing on there during the commercial break though--that's how they should be doing it.

I thought it was great when they actually promoted that a match would be continuing on there during the commercial break though--that's how they should be doing it. Man, I agree. I thought that was damn disrespectful. We got matches going on in the ring and Michael Cole is telling me to divert my attention away from the match in ring so I can turn on some app to watch somebody TALK about something? Clearly WWE is going in the wrong direction when they want you to not even watch matches that are happening so they can screw around with apps, social media, and more people talking. Is there a separate group of people who ONLY book The Shield from the rest of the company? Because there is no way the same people who write the rest of the WWE so crappy are the same people who write The Shield so awesome. It doesn't make sense.

I was annoyed as well when they kept mentioning the app. I did hear something about the Nielsen ratings adding the amount of viewers that stream RAW on the internet or something to that extent, so I guess that's why they overpromoted the app last Monday.
