The Lakers must be embarrassed for doing this.

Im just really confused by Howard going to Houston. Nothing really makes logical sense of it....
More money? Nope
Better chance at a ring? Nope
Closer to home? Nope
Historical "Elite" NBA Franchise (ex. Lakers, Celtics etc)? Nope
Im convinced he did a lottery to see where to go. 5 pieces of paper with Houston on it, 3 with Lakers, 1 with Warriors and then he just picked out of a hat.

the Dwightmare in LA is over
he never wanted to be here and you could tell by last season's play.. his heart just wasn't in it
I hope it works out for the Rockets, but I'm not as big a believer in Dwight as many are

You can't write this S**t any better. The guy is a head case. It is ridiculous with him. I also agree with Sir Timothy, head case aside, I don't know if he is going to win you any championships. I think he is a great piece but I don't think he should be your best player. He hasn't been anything special the last 2 seasons.
It may work out in Houston with J. Harden but I wouldn't consider them favorites or anything. Window is short in LA and I wouldn't want him as my center piece personally. He may prove me wrong, he has the physical tools.

Dwight is a great player dont get me wrong, but I think he made the wrong decision. Things wont work out in Houston I know it. They have James Harden the future star of the franchise, I just dont think they will get along. These two will probably go at it more than Howard did with Kobe. He should have gone with the Mavs to be honest, there he can be the star of the franchise. Isnt that what he wanted in the first place?

Jose Calderon signs with Dallas for 4 years/$29 million according to ESPN, this leaves us Pistons without a true starting PG, Knight is a combo guard, but I'm guessing Cheeks will be there to help him out. Side-note, it feels like some teams are just kinda giving up and trying to win the lottery already.

am I the only one who thinks James Harden is a bit overrated? Is his ceiling really that high?

Could Dwight's ego get any bigger? Time to try to get Melo and LEbron next year!

For anyone that cares to see if your team signed any undrafted free agents, summer league rosters are out and all games will be on NBA TV. I don't really care but I enjoy seeing where some former college stars will be playing.

The only team making smart moves this offseason is the Pelicans. Every other team is too desperate or has accepted the fate of tanking for the 2014 draft class. I also love how every big offseason deal last year has backfired. That Iggy, Bynum and Howard deal has sucked for all teams involved. The Thunder trade for Martin sucked too. If somehow the Warriors signing Iggy entices Howard to do an S&T deal with them, I don't get the move at all. They have Harrison Barnes who is exponentially cheaper than Andre and can equal his production, but now he's back to fighting for more shots and playing time? You saw just how much better he looked when Lee got hurt. Barnes is good, they need to give him opportunity and this does the opposite. Eh, I dunno. Trading Noel and a 2014 pick for an expensive PG? Signing Tyreke to a big deal? Smart....I dunno, not terrible moves but those could be terrible if Evans gets complacent like he did in Sacto and the Pelicans pick winds up in the lottery. I loved the Iggy deal for the Warriors and Howard to the Rockets is awesome too. The West is NUTS

Houston is MUCH closer to a ring than the Lakers, the Lakers are done for. that window has closed. Goes to a team with a bright future, not a major market, and one of the greatest big men ever as his coach.

Mike D'Antoni and Steve Nash, that generationalist hack, will make the Lakers like the meandering Phoenix Suns of 2011 through 2013. Jim Buss is a nepotist that is trying to mold this team into his own ego. Why? Because the two were best buds somewhere? He is not the man his father was! He can't win a championship at this rate! What if he feels that he has no choice but to lose for 2014? They could never get a single digit lottery pick next year!

Parlaying a player they didn't need (Noel) into a quality starting all-star PG is a great move. I actually really like Evans, that man can score in a variety of ways. A caveat to the Iggy trade is that the Warriors are also going to part with Jack and Landry to make room for his deal. They've limited their depth, suppressed a rising star and over paid a near 30 year old Iggy who's best asset is his defense. I can see him being a Gearald Wallace in a couple of years.

I loved the Iggy deal for the Warriors and Howard to the Rockets is awesome too. The West is NUTS Noel, Davis, Vasquez, and Gordon was probably going to get them a lotto pick in the 7-15 range anyways, why not test your luck and make a contender out of it? I personally loved the trade for Jrue. Expensive? Sure, but not max deal expensive. But he's 24, top ten PG, and not on a max deal. Steal if you ask me. Worse comes to worse, they keep their pick next year if they're THAT bad, because it's 1-5 protected. At first I HATED the 'Reke deal, but I've talked myself into it. If you're going to overpay any wing player in this FA class, I'm glad it was Evans. He still hasn't tapped into his potential yet. I love that they're going to bring him off the bench, to me that makes his value even better. He and Ryan Anderson off the bench is gonna be awesome. If Gordon stays healthy I could definitely see this team sneaking in and grabbing the last playoff spot. Not a fan of the length of the Iggy deal though, that deal will create problems for signing Barnes and/or Klay down the road. But right now, he will put this team over the top. Top 3 team in the West at the moment, with OKC and the LAC.
