I guess someone in creative is under the false impression that it's hilarious.
Rooster spot made me lol more than Park ever does.

I'm still waiting for the storyline to play out in this way: He keeps wrestling as Joseph Park. Whenever he bleeds, he goes all Abyss on his opponent. Someone finally puts two and two together revealing that Park is Abyss (Hurricane as a reporter would have been great fun for this). Once he is outed, let's get Dr. Shelby in to help him with his dual personality issues. Meanwhile, get him a tag team partner who purposely makes him bleed before or during matches so he turns into Abyss and they win. Eventually, Dr. Shelby can integrate Park and Abyss into one personality that isn't a bumbling idiot in the ring nor an unbeatable monster but something in between who can feud with his now ex-tag team partner.
Sure its convoluted and could take several months or longer to play out, but this is TNA so it seems feasible to me.

Abyss rules, but Hogan hasn't known what to do with him since he came to TNA. From giving Abyss his HOF ring to Joseph Park, everything has been a terrible idea.

Where he eventually winds up either crossing paths with "Abyss" or comes to the conclusion that he IS Abyss. I believe they're building up to something (I hope they are - because if they're not, the Joseph Park character is on a road to nowhere).

Abyss was such a boring and horrible character just prior to this whole switch happening. The Joseph Park change, or whatever gimmick they would have come up with, was much welcomed at the time. That being said, his bumbling idiot routine has taken a bit too long to develop. He is transitioning though, slowly but surely. I just don't think I'm a fan of the guy. As Abyss, there wasn't anything new he could possibly do. As Joseph Park, he's just cringeworthy bad at times. Maybe he has that "every man" appeal to some fans but it doesn't register with me. I can say I don't want to see him go back to Abyss personally. I still remember how frustrated I was with him not that long ago throughout 2011 and early 2012. So for me, I guess Joseph Park is just the lesser of two evils.

Once they made Abyss talk, it started going down hill.

I see Joseph Park as a complete waste and just as annoying as when the WWE put Michael Cole in a match with Jerry Lawler...

They could have run a storyline where everyone but Park knew he was Abyss, and someone, maybe a heel tried to 'prove' he was actually Abyss to Park's dismay. Going as far as trying to pull his teeth out to show where Abyss has that gap, or exposing his tattoos on his arms. Now what would be compelling is somehow this didn't work, which kept everyone guessing and the heel (maybe like Robbie E or someone) would be confused. But upon being repeatedly bloodied Park gradually re-becomes Abyss, which should have been done by now, ever since last year's first Black Hole Slam against Bully Ray. But this has been dragged out way too long. I really thought they were going to wrap this character up around the time he tagged with Sting/appeared as Abyss & won the TV title. But alas we were disappointed with another failed outcome. Even when Sting kept saying "You're gonna kayfabe me to the end on this aren't ya??" I was hopeful we'd have a reveal... but no.
They could have done this so smartly by having Hogan address Parks as Abyss back in June by cleverly referring to him when he was calling Abyss to come to his aid, but again TNA are making fools of themselves by showing they don't know he is Chris Parks. Hogan could have said "Joeseph, we need Abyss. Only you know where he is, and only you can reach him. The monster needs to come alive again". In that way he is indirectly saying "Look, we know you're Abyss, now man-up and get your mask back on". But instead they went down the same route again by saying "Please find your brother, we need him".
Another wasted story that could have been saved, just like AJ winning the BFG series that we almost all predicted. I swear we all should give suggestions to TNA's creative, since they are consistently crapping on the fans by teasing one route and f'ing it up by doing what they want.
Another thing that baffles me is why they refer to Joeseph's surname as Park. It's common knowledge Abyss' real name is Chris Parks, and Hogan repeatedly calls him Joe Parks, but why drop the 's' if you're going for being his brother?
Rant over..... that felt good

I personnaly love the character. And he's scheduled at an Indy show as Joseph park in October so I don't see a change anytime soon.

I loved Abyss back in the day but the dude is seriously out of shape. When he looks like this again then I'll care again.

I love Joseph Park the character and how he acts it out, but the dude is like 6-5 and 350 pounds or whatever. He's not weak in anyway and it doesn't make sense for him to be so timid.

#TNALogic
I read a few months back on Lords of Pain that it was supposed to be a super-long story that lead to him changing back to Abyss, which looks to be true. I liked the Joseph Parks character for like a month, then I was sick of it.
The only way I'll ever care ahout the Abyss character again is if he truly becomes "The Monster" again. Hell bring back James Mitchell as his mouthpiece again, and just have him destroy everything. In any case, I just want Joe Parks to disappear permantely.
And rooster spot? LOL.
