Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair showcased two of the greatest in-ring performers of all time on the biggest stage of them all, and they didn't disappoint.
How can winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania not be on a list of any given wrestler's greatest matches?
Two of the best of all time going at it

thanks for doing this...my answer:
Randy Savage vs Tito Santana (Primetime Wrestling, 2/24/86), where Macho Man cheats to win the Intercontinental Title
I love everything about the match, but especially the finish...foreign object from Savage's tights, swing & a miss; he gets caught in a back suplex from the outside apron but still manages to use the "foreign object" & get the pin
I liked Macho as a good guy, but loved him as a bad guy.....so many amazing matches, but this is #1 for me

Savage vs Steamboat at WrestleMania 3 has to go down as not only one of Savages best matches but one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time! Not only did it steal the show but changed the style of wrestling forever!
Man.....what a great match!

Savage vs Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3 because the match was exceptionally good! That match is the reason a lot of people love wrestlign and are wrestlers today. It was incredibly inspiring and I hope it will always be remembered.

Ok I'm gonna cheat here lol... If I had to pick ONE match, it'd be WM 7. The weight that it had at the time was something we'd never really seen. Sure WM 1 Andre vs Studd, if Andre lost he'd have to retire and WM III was (supposedly) Piper's retirement match - I believe this was the first major 'Career vs career' match (of the 'Hulkamania' boom era)... Back when you really didn't KNOW who would win or lose. The Macho King (the BEST King ever - that gimmick lit a venomous fuel inside Randy Savage and made him arguably the most 'savage' heel out there) vs Ultimate Warrior. A brutal back and forth with Warrior taking like 7 elbow drops and STILL no being enough to pin him, the face turn and the emotional reuniting with Elisabeth (that had EVERYONE tearing up) - is probably the most emotional match ever (unlike the PHONY flair vs hbk match decades later). We can only imagine how much GREATER the whole thing (including the event itself) it would have been at the LA Coliseum (?) with 120,000 fans in an outdoor arena. This is probably one of greatest missed opportunities in early/mid wwf history (aside from flair vs hogan, which never happened)....
BUT... I'm actually picking WM IV as Savage's greatest match because it was many matches but all in one night. The Tournament will ALWAYS be to ME - the greatest Mania ever. Every superstar had a spot on the card and Randy took it all home. I don't think anyone has that great an accomplishment on their record - even with hogan's 'help' in the end it was something special. At the time it really made the whole thing look REAL...and I miss that feeling, even knowing it's 'scripted' (or 'fake' as many outsiders like to call it) but still being so sucked into wrestling that you know you're watching and experiencing something REAL...
Many have stated WM III but I feel like that match is TOO perfect, in regards to Randy's plotting everything move for move, spot for spot. Still a classic but not as raw as say the Summerslam match between him and Warrior. I'd Randy worked best with Warrior. They were gold together - it's shame the Mega Maniacs never got to happen aside from the promos. Another one I'll go against is WM 8 - that match just doesn't do it for me - kinda been there done that and I agree with Flair that he should have won and Randy should have 'chased' the belt a little longer maybe taking it AT summerslam, but then we wouldn't have had the awesome match that we did.
So again, WM IV is my favorite macho man moment... "Elisabeth, down that aisle! ooooh yeah, dig it!"

Wrestlemania 3 vs Ricky Steamboat, Awesome match that definitely paved the way for smaller guys. Stole the show at that mania and one of the best matches of all time.
I really need this figure, him and JBL are the only ones i have not found , If i win you can ship loose.

My favorite Macho Man match was either: Macho Man vs Lord Steven Regal on a 96' episode of Nitro, due to Regal calling it one of his favorite matches of all time, and telling some funny stories about how the match came together.
Or.
Savage vs Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3 because it is still considered one of the greatest matches I've ever seen in my life.
OOOOH YEAH! Goodluck to everyone. Hope I win!

My favorite Savage match of all time was VS. Ted DiBiase in the finals of the WM IV World Title Tournament. That was the first PPV that my dad had purchased, and literally the hardest I've ever marked out in my entire life.

WrestleMania 7, vs. Ultimate Warrior. The career-ending match was a story in itself, but what made it more significant was that it was the culmination of his relationship with Elizabeth that we witnessed flourished and destroyed over many years. Best match of both men's career, plus a memorable reunion that will never be topped.
