I'm a little disturbed of the lack of talk going on about the return of Batista.
After picking up his DVD set yesterday at Wal-Mart, my enthusiasm for this guy has increased 10 fold. Sure he's not the Rock, but he is a huge star nonetheless, that has paid his dues, and earned the spot he has in the company.
Is anyone else as enthusiastic about his return as I am?

It's cooler to bitch about him coming back to win the Rumble while Daniel Bryan is buried Batista's always been one of my favorites - heel or face - and I agree with everything you stated in the OP.

Unfortunately, due to the misbooking of one Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble, coupled with CM Punk's walkout, Batista's return has kinda taken a backseat news wise. I'm not gonna sit here and cry about DB at the Rumble but WWE really did put Batista in a position to be hated or not cared for by many fans. Anyone who won the Rumble other than Bryan would've gotten the same treatment from the fans as well.
I'm still stoked that Batista is back but current events seem to have pointed people in the other direction when it comes to wanting him around.

The day that someone comes up with a better argument than "It's the cool thing to do" will be the day that I eat my own foot Cobra Commander style.

I didn't mind him when he left but I really just had no interest in him coming back.

I'm excited about Batista. Feel like him vs Orton is a little been there done that for a Wrestlemania main event. Hopefully, we get to see him doing some better stuff being around for two years. He seems to be in better condition than he used to be. For 45 he's in better shape than a lot of guys on the roster.

I'm with you bro. Always loved Batista. Was dying for him to return. I don't like the fact that he dresses like a prized martial arts fighter now. But whatever. Still amped for his return.

I've always been a big fan of Batista. For a guy his size I always felt like he moved well. Decent on the mic. And certainly has the look.
Yeah he was gassed 2 minutes into the Rumble, but he'll be fine once he builds his cardio back up. I just pray/hope WWE fans don't completely hijack the match at Mania and potentially ruin what could be an entertaining match. Fans should have more respect than that.

I was never a huge batista fan but no one can deny he was a pretty big star when he left. he was never and will never be a rock, Austin, cena( few were) but he comes off as if he is in the same class as them, idk maybe it's just what I see.
I honestly welcome the return IF he winds up working his ass off, help put newer talent over and wrestles and appears on TV.... will that happen? hmmm

Cause I'm pretty sure I just asked for them to have some respect for two guys that are risking their health to entertain them.

I was amped for his return as I was a big Batista fan before he left in 2010, but since he's come back (IMO at least) his promo work has fallen flat, he's proven he's out of ring shape, and his attire looks silly. If he puts on a decent effort in a one on one match between now and Mania I'll change my mind but right now I don't see how he deserved to be main eventing Mania in the shape hes in. :/

Point being... people very well may enjoy the actual match if they don't automatically discredit them and boo them out of the building. Now if they go out and lay a goose egg then by all means have at it. But in my opinion let's see what they have to offer first.

Why are you disturbed by it?
Nobody was thirsting or begging for Batista to come back and save the show.
We were all fine with guys like Punk and Bryan doing their thing. Suddenly, Batista comes back, wins one match, is slated to main event Wrestlemania, and we are expected to give a sh*t? Why? What huge hurdle did he have to climb to earn that spot? What great feuds, matches or promos has he had recently to make is want to see him main event Wrestlemania? What great crowd reactions has he received?
We were happy with what we had in Bryan and Punk. There was no need for Batista to come in and take over. I'm fine with him returning but not in the role he's currently in now. Especially after investing the past several months in Punk and Bryan only for it to be completely forgotten about in one Rumble match.

They are choosing to put their bodies on the line for the benefit of our entertainment.

His return could have been epic if WWE didn't repeatedly drop the ball, From messing up his surprise return with putting him on promotion material to rushing an announcement on raw to misjudging fan reaction to him winning the rumble,
Fail! Fail! Fail! No wonder Batista lost his cool after the rumble, He's obviously a proud man & rightfully so!
They brought him back but they don't know wtf to do with him! -.-

Makes me wonder what would have happened if they kept his return a secret and then he enters number 30 at the Rumble and wins it...
