I used to be a huge fan of Batista, during his Evolution run and for a couple of years after he broke off as a big time babyface. My interest in him faded over time, and by the time he turned heel and was getting ready to exit the company, I was more than ready to see him go. I've never really worked up an urge to see him again, and his return, thus far, has left a lot to be desired. He looks old, he's visibly gassed (though that can, of course, be corrected) and nothing about him seems genuine. I don't even know how to put my finger on it, but he just comes off like such a heel that it's amazing to me that they can run with him as a face. I'm also wholeheartedly against the "push to the moon" scenario we're currently seeing. Batista was never "the guy." Sure, he was a big namesake during his time and his presence is a nice asset for WWE heading into Wrestlemania season, but, for all intents and purposes. he's been treated as though he's The Rock, and we all know he's not. The Rock shows up and commands the main event spot with his presence and mainstream media appeal. Batista could have just as easily come in, struck up a major feud with any worthwhile guy on the roster without the title on the line and I think people would be looking at him much differently. Brock Lesnar, to me, is a far larger name than Batista, and yet he didn't show up and immediately get put into the main event of Wrestlemania, limited schedule or not. Batista paid his dues, has a marketable look, and is a draw. Which means he gets placed in the spotlight he deserves upon his return. You're right, Batista is getting exactly what he deserves.

I never have had anything against Batista, but I just am not excited to see him back. I just don't really want to see him wrestle anybody on the roster.

But quite frankly he looks really strange now. Like I say the Animal name no longer fits him when he is in the ring with guys that dwarve him in width, mass and height.

While he is obviously smaller, he is still a big guy, and marketable. I'm sure he'll also incorporate some MMA moves into his arsenal as well. I can't wait to see him in action, hopefully against Del Rio at EC.

I'm a little disturbed of the lack of talk going on about the return of Batista. After picking up his DVD set yesterday at Wal-Mart, my enthusiasm for this guy has increased 10 fold. Sure he's not the Rock, but he is a huge star nonetheless, that has paid his dues, and earned the spot he has in the company. Is anyone else as enthusiastic about his return as I am? Not really excited. Between the fact that I was never really a big fan of him before he bounced and the way he's been booked upon his return I'm not digging it. I also don't know how we are gauging "huge star," because within the company he's defiantly a "star" but outside he's really not. Especially "huge." He had a laughable attempt at an MMA career and the only potential thing of importance he's been able to drum up in Hollywood will be his role in Guardians, where he will have a medium sized role and be in a ton of makeup (Also, he wasn't even the first choice for this role.) And I try and not put huge stock into this, but he is dwarfed by all the lead WWE stars in Twitter followers (granted they push Twitter super hard).

Batista paid his dues, has a marketable look, and is a draw. Which means he gets placed in the spotlight he deserves upon his return. I'm not saying that I think Batista shouldn't be anywhere near the title during what we assume to be a two year commitment, but I think approaching it the way in which they have is going to, and has already backfired. The fans evidently wanted something different, and it would appear as though they feel Batista is being forced upon them. It's hard to argue with that. Again, my point remains - Brock Lesnar is a bigger star than Batista (and arguably more talented in nearly every aspect, save mic skills. Personally, I've never found Batista to be particularly gifted in that area either, but that's neither here nor there) and didn't receive The Rock treatment. Batista vs. Randy Orton at Wrestlemania could still be a high profile match on the Wrestlemania card without being for the Championship. Batista could still win the title down the line. I just completely disagree with the way in which his return was handled, and it appears a lot of fans feel that way as well.

I was a fan before during his Evolution days but now the fact he has a title clause in his contract is bull.

Batista needs to be a heel man. Nobody wants to cheer for this guy anymore. Give me Bryan vs a heel Batista at Wrestlemania with Bryan making him tap out. That would be something.
