I never really followed too heavily on the ramblings of the internet back in 2006... and now today as I look back- I'm curious. I loved the start of ECW on sci-fi and the awesomeness that was produced in the first few weeks. From what I can remember, the fans hated Show/Batista match and after that things sort of declined. Questions are as follows-
Did WWE have full control over the booking of ECW, or was Heyman having a high say of what went down? How long did they last in the Hammerstein Ballroom and what was the reason they left? Was Angle heated for having to be on the ECW roster at the time, and Benoit as well? If anyone wants to throw in any other info I'd appreciate it. Just wondering about this. Random Sunday thoughts... lol.

According to interviews in the Punk documentary on his DVD, Heyman had some pull but still had to answer to WWE higher ups. A specific example was how hard Heyman had to fight to let Punk keep his ROH name.

I want them to re-re launch ECW again. Get rid of Main Event and Superstars and have ECW on Wednesday. It would be a great way to get guys like Kidd on TV and guys like Kofi could be ECW champion

Vince & his cretin daughter had the final say. Cue Heyman having to fight tooth and nail for the tiniest of concessions and enduring endless interference & meddling because Stephanie hated him and it amused her to see him squirm.

Slimy Paul was head writer on ECW. Same as any other head writer on a WWE show (except Raven in the early nineties), he had to answer to Vince.

ECW had a lot of great wrestling in the last year or so. It was a great mix of veterans, guys getting their first big push and new comers.
I really enjoyed watching Hardy, Henry, Christian, Punk, Morrison, Sheamus, Bourne, Regal and a lot others on there every week.
I definitely never want to see ECW back again. Ran it's course, was brought back, overstayed it's welcome and died a horrible death.

Basically what everyone else said.
Angle being on ELM and refusing rehab is why he was released/quit/whatever. Benoit was only there for 1-2 weeks before the incident.

Anyone know if the 2006-2009 ECW will be on the WWE Network? It seems very interesting.

I knew Raven was behind the scenes around that time, but...why didn't he have to go through Vince? He was writing a C-show that nobody upstairs cared about. Raven isn't really the only one, though, he's not even the main one. The best ever example of "Vince doesn't give a crap about this show so we're just going crazy with it" is NXT: Redemption.

The first ever episode of WWECW was taped in Trenton,NJ. I was there live. I remember being SO excited to out that the smackdown taping I had tickets for had turned into an ECW re debut as well!! 2 for 1 baby!
So anyway they were never at the Hammerstein ballroom for good. They filmed a few episodes there but it was mainly taped with smackdown the same way "Main Event" is now.
