It's a great article, and it's absolutely true. There's really nothing more that needs to be said, in all honesty.
I mean, let's be honest here. WWE took a "grassroots" disruption campaign, turned it into a company slogan for the night, AND did it with the guy who the project was supposed to benefit. If that's not straight up telling you "you're powerless", I don't know what is.

I believe its been summed up as well as it can be. And the thing is,WWE has been telling you this for years. Remember the old remark "It doesn't matter who wins or loses as long as there's an ass every 18 inches".....it applies today, just in a much broader way. Now its that plus as long as there's a kid buying every figure, a fan buying every shirt, and a 9.99 network order for every streaming device. I don't like everything they do because I know, creatively, they can do better. But I also know complaining about it will do no good. And from a strictly business point of view, the way they handled the Punk situation and the Chicago crowd was brilliant. But ultimately everything in this article is right.......whether any of us like it or not.

Sadly this is true, whether our favorite is in the main event or not we are going to watch and pour money into this company. That's why they don't care what we think. This article made me feel so powerless haha.
By the way, anyone have any idea on who the "Chris" guy was? What was his ring name?

No one likes to admit they are powerless. We are extremely powerless, unless of course we walk away altogether, thus abandoning something we all truly love. That's why forums like this exist. So we can say everything we need to say to other people, so that at least someone can hear us out.

Chris Sabin is a great talent, I can't believe they wouldn't push him just because he had a good fanbase on the internet. So stupid, but typical WWE

I know that was a little bit confusing but the guy who wrote the article for yahoo said he worked creative for the "other guy." TNA did that sh*t to Sabin, and really Jerry Lynn, after Sabin had already really been established as one of the best X-Division wrestlers in the world. It was completely unnecessary and not even funny. I'm guessing it was a Vince Russo idea, but I'm just guessing. Here is a link to the video:

No worries glad to help. Not exactly a proud moment for TNA. The 06-09 years of Russo creative were, for the most part, pretty sh*t until the second half of 2009 imo. Not to say there weren't some good angles, and there were some amazing matches, but stuff like the MEM and pimping out the X-Divison really took TNA a step in the wrong direction if you ask me.

Good read, and I agree with everything. That's why I don't complain much about WWE or say I will never watch and/or buy their product because I know damn well I'm gonna watch every week no matter how much more bad there is on the show than there is good, because as long as there's something I enjoy about the show, I will continue watching.
All those people who constantly say "Oh, I'm never watching the show because Daniel Bryan isn't champion", unless they really mean what they say, should really Shut The F*** Up, because their empty threat, as the article said, is bulls***. The only way anyone on the internet, anyone in that audience is going to change the way WWE does something is by stop watching the show, stop going to the events, etc. You can only hurt WWE through their wallet. People like that give wrestling fans a very bad name IMO. All I care about is watching a wrestling product. Plus, I've seen worse product in WWE than what's on now.

Err, that was TNA. Sabin's never even been in WWE. I know he was never in WWE, I just thought he meant he had a tryout match for Velocity or something like that. The article was sort of strangely worded (I too thought the writer was referring to his work in WWE up until I realized the Chris in question was Sabin), so I can see how you might have been confused, as I was.

we're 'so powerless' that we make grown men humiliate themselves by attempting to retaliate to our remarks and completely impair the way that the non-smark crowd perceives the talent/show quliaties? so powerless that we take a returning wrestler who had a deal with marvel and was obviously supposed to be some big wrestlemania hero, and completely overpower his character direction and the wwe forcibly acknowledging it and changing him heel as a result? you think wwe ever really wanted punk as high up the card as he is, and do you really think he would of got there without the massive undying support?
we're only powerless when we submit the power we have.

I hate columns like this because all they're doing is stating such obvious facts that anybody with two working brain cells could figure out. Yes, unless every single person boycotts the WWE, they're still going to make money - no sh*t. That doesn't mean the product is any good or that anybody is happy. Cleveland Browns fans still show up every Sunday they have a game to support their team despite not having a winning season in approximately 200 years. The New York Knicks sell out every single game despite being a complete abomination for my entire lifetime. Money rules everything, of course, but if you're basing how strong your team/product is based solely on the income it generates, it just goes to show you how many higher ups are out of touch with reality. Guys like CM Punk are prime examples that it's not always just about going through the motions to collect a big fat check.
