Batista pulled the same thing, and he was blasted. IWC baby Punk does it and "he clearly had a reason to do so" Batista never did a walkout like Punk. Batista gave WWE many months notice, and actually stuck around a couple months longer than he had originally said he would (I think he was due to leave right after WM26), because the company wanted him to do a couple more PPVs with Cena. I think Hardy was very much in the same bracket as Punk/Bryan... Popular, main event star, but just didn't have the all-round skillset than Cena has. Hardy would've gone further in WWE though, if it weren't for his reliability/substance issues and the fact that he didn't really want to be there half the time. I'm with you on the Roman Reigns thing. Give it a couple years and he may tick all the boxes to be the man.

Cena won't turn heel, but that's a nice scenario.

It was my understanding that when Batista left, it was nothing more than frustration with his place in the company. Yeah, Reigns is the closest I've seen to the "package" in a while. I think another year or so of development will do him good. I'm hoping they start him by taking the US Title off Ambrose when the time comes, and let him build slowly, with a legit, and respectable, title run there. The biggest issue people take with him is his mic work, and that's cool, but let's be honest -- out of the 3 Shield members -- he talks the least. Hard to impress anyone when you get half the lines of your teammates. I'm sure Uncle/cousin/whatever Rock will give him some pointers when the time comes. He'll be just fine.

I stand corrected. It was my understanding that when Batista left, it was nothing more than frustration with his place in the company. I think it was partly that (as well as the general direction of the company and general burnout), but he went out the right way and left on good terms.

You should join the WWE creative team.
