As someone who has been a fan of this show since the "The Limo" in season 1, I don't know how I will handle myself after tomorrow night's series finale. Granted yes, it is a TV show.. And one that has dragged at times. But this is a television show that started when I was 15 and has spanned through so much of my growing years. Hell, Ted Mosby has been part of my user name on WF for years..I've watched the show with countless people, including my brother who is no longer with us. I've had New Years' viewing parties where we would all binge watch an entire season the year it came out on DVD. It has transformed my TV viewing habits as well. I remember thinking back in 2005 that there were no good sitcoms on tv anymore and that it had been years since I felt compelled to watch TV aside from wrestling. Since discovering the show then, so many amazing shows have come and gone in this era including the US version of the Office (started a year before HIMYM), Parks and Rec, Scrubs, Flight of the Conchords, Rescue Me, just to name a handful. I feel as though a large chapter of my life has been completed. It has been legendary. What are you guys feeling? Pulling them off.

Mixed feelings.
I thought the first 4-5 seasons were great, probably my favourite 4 camera/laugh track show of all time. I'm only about a third through the final season at the moment though and I'm not too impressed. The series is pretty much running on fumes at this point, it's time to say goodbye. As long as the finale is good, I'm happy.

Even though I felt like they dragged the final season too long, I'm still going to be sad to see it go. One of my favorite shows ever with a lot of funny and unique storylines. Hell, I got emotional just seeing the Slap Bet end haha.

The last 2 seasons have had moments....but the show definitely lost a step. There was a time in Season 5 that I thought this show could go 20 years. There was just an infinite number of stories to tell. But it just seemed like we never got any progress on the mother and now its being rushed. I think it would have been better serve to introduce the mother in season 7 to give it time to develop and see if Radnor and Milloti could develop chemistry.
That being said, its gonna be an epic tear jerker for sure. As the OP said, HIMYM came on television during a time that tv was dying. There just wasnt really any good shows on, especially sitcoms. Long were the days of Perfect Strangers, Full House, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, Home Improvement and the like....television had almost died as far as I was concerned. HIMYM was one of the very FEW shows I was watching. The characters have evolved, grown and as fans so have we. To think that Monday night will be the last time we see Barney, Robin, Ted, Marshall and Lilly Pad.....its down right heartbreaking.

Glad you liked it, but I am glad its ending, never got into the show. That's like saying "I'm glad you liked Harold Ramis, but I'm glad he's dead, never got into his movies." But am pretty upset about it. Watching the second half of this season to prep now. Gonna be a sad day.

I've been watching HIMYM for years now, since season 1, it was the first show I ever got into and I have been watching it ever since, I could practically state every single line said in the show based on how much I've re-watched episodes. With all that being said, I haven't enjoyed the last season, the show has seemed to lost it's emotional edge I thought it had previously had, now it seems like a lot of cheap laughs mixed in with some parts about the mother, I still look forward to the episodes since it's apart of my routine but I enjoyed last season more than the current.

I took off work just so I can watch it as it airs with some buds.
Love the show, some of the best writing Ive ever seen in a TV show. Based on how Ive heard the creators talk about it, its going to be a powerful Finale. one of those ones we talk about for years to come.
Its such a cohesive group of characters that its going to be difficult to watch it all end tomorrow. Plus they have a bunch of stuff up their sleeve.
Im just glad its an hour long. I wouldnt want them to wrap the whole series up in just a half hour episode.
So heres to the end of the road!

Sad to see the show end. Loved it from the start. I'll admit, the ninth season hasn't been great, but still.

My favourite ever show. Will be devastated when it ends! I do worry they've left themselves too much to cram in to it though.
If the mother really is dead then I'll be absolutely distraught. I normally think 'meh' when I see predictable happy endings, but HIMYM has more than earned theirs. It would be a bold move, but I'd rather they didn't.

I think Season 9 was better than 8. The Mother really helped, and getting to know her has been awesome.

If the mothers really dead, and Ted has been telling the story of how he met her because of it than Ted really sucks at comforting his kids. "hey kids, I know your Mom just died, but let me tell you about all the chicks I banged before I met her."

Ya, it is Hard when a Show goes off the air...I didnt get into this one "yet", I am sure I will get into it someday, I like to watch older shows that dont air anymore, lets me just watch it straight through without waiting....the last one i watched kinda made me sad...Flashpoint...such a great show, but they pulled the plug...Hope you enjoy the finale... you will move onto another series

I love this show. I'm with everyone in saying that the quality started to take a hit around Season 6 and I agree that the Mother should've been introduced earlier. Season 9 has been alright but the best stuff is with Milloti. I really like her and she has good chemistry with the entire cast it seems. Would've loved for her to have come around earlier.
Anyway, will be watching this tomorrow and it'll be sad to see it go.
