im watching WWE WrestleMania Today, live on the WWE Network. They just did a segment where the Usos go shopping @ Fan Axxess. They were going through the shirts and stopped when they found a brand new HOF Razor Ramon shirt. I checked WWEShop and its so new that its not even there yet. HOF inductions don't always equal a Mattel figure. Videogames don't always equal a Mattel figure. A DVD doesn't always equal a Mattel figure. A shirt? That mean legends/merchandise deal. Which means Mattel has the right to use them. Ric Flair got a new shirt on February 23rd. By March 30th we see a Ric Flair prototype? SDCC is going to be off the hook. Hogan, Flair, Razor, Luger, X-Pac

A merch deal and a Mattel deal are two different things I believe.

A merch deal and a Mattel deal are two different things I believe. I believe a merchandising deal equates to Mattel being able to use his likeness for a figure instead of Mattel trying to sign the talent individually?

Lita, Jake and Ultimate warrior got a completely new design for their HOF shirts. Was Razor's so last minute that they just slapped a HOF logo on one of his old designs?
It could have been so much better.

I'm sure he will get more shirts but retro is cool now so re-releasing a classic shirt is probably the better way to go for his first shirt for HOF.

I'm just glad they're going all in w/ Hall. I was sure that the HOF induction was just the first part of baby stepping him back into the WWE Universe.
I figured he'd be on double secret probation after the HOF. Then maybe 6 months down the line.....if everything was good, he'd get a legends deal.
MDT Bill gets to hang out with Summer Rae, Eva Marie.....and now he's working on protos for Hulk, Flair and Razor Ramon? This dude has the life

As is my understanding, this new shirt must mean Hall has signed a new merchandise deal with WWE. And WWE merchandise deals usually include figures, plus Hall was happy to sign with Jakks for his CS figures to get made in the past. So yeh, I think a Mattel Hall is indeed now on the way.
On a side note, I don't think Mattel is doing many (if any) independant signings right now in regards to legends/flashback figures. They're mainly using people who have signed merchandising deals directly with WWE. Plus a few people who Mattel signed directly when planning the Legends series' years ago, whose contracts are still valid despite Mattel's change of direction with Legends figures. I believe they mentioned this when explaining why X-pac wasn't coming right away, as they needed to give priority to the contracts that were going to expire.
Great news anyway. Hopefully Mattel's Hall/Razor figures will have really good headscans. I was never happy with the smiling/ponytail Jakks scan, or the weird-looking oversized Jakks scan. I'd like to see Mattel make a snarling Hall personally. A smiling scan, even if it's supposed to be an "evil smile", would just end up looking too happy in actual production.

I guess you don't remember when Hall was off limits and we never thought we would get a figure of him at all?

Final Word: No. As much as I am a fan of the Razor Ramon gimmick and as much as I would love to design that one there are simply many more reasons for Mattel not to do a Scott Hall/Razor Ramon figure than to do one. So there you go... those days are finally over. I swear, every Q & A we would get the same "We can't do Hall because of drugs.....and he killed a guy with a trident...etc."
