I about died of laughter when I heard Young won the title. Then I FF'ed to the end of the show & saw the title change actually happen. There was no more laughter. I blame Christy Hemme.

The guy has been in TNA for 10 years, he deserves it. He's been with them threw thick and thin, has put up with the horrible gimmicks and is pretty solid in the ring. Also you said he's TNA's version Santino, maybe a few months ago he was but over these last few months (ever since around the UK trip) his character has been getting alot more edgy and phasing out of the comedy gimmick and back into a legit contender IMO.
Congrats, EY.

With the hurt shoulder and the facial hair I thought I was watching WM again, except they didn't end a historic career with a loss to Brock.

Not really worthy of a world title, but kind of nice to see given how much crap he's done for the company. HJe deserves it more than Magnus at any rate. Magnus ing sucks

It's really sad that "he's been in the company for a long time" is used as a point for why he should be champion. It's bullcrap. Nobody, in ANY company, should win the championship because they've been employed for a while.
My problem isn't with the choice of Eric Young (though admittedly I've never thought he was a main event guy), but that they didn't build it enough. It wasn't too long ago that he was Knockouts Tag Champion or just wrestling other low-card guys. They've had him more serious lately, but he could've used a real main-event level feud to establish him at the top of the card.
Instead we get another random title switch - much like Chris Sabin - that doesn't do much for the guy winning it.

Well said CM. I may chime in with my two cents later, but this reeks of laziness, AGAIN, by tna creative.

Can't say I watch the company weekly like I once did, but I remember Eric being one of the more popular dudes on the roster. Apparently the guys tv show is doing really well, so he might actually be the most recognisable name there, I dunno. It's no worse than James Storm's title reign a few years back.

Can't we just celebrate the fact that Magnus is no longer the World Champion? For however long it lasts .....

For one, I am glad that Magnus is no longer champion, but Eric Young? They seriously didn't have anyone else to put it on? Don't get me wrong I like Eric Young, but I never saw him as being a World Champion. I hate to agree with CM when it comes to TNA cause to me sometimes he seems to defend TNA too much when others criticize, but I agree with his post. It doesn't matter that he's been with the company for 10 years. Hey Val Venis, Scotty 2 Hotty, Funaki were with WWE for more than a decade at that time, did that make them deserving of the WWE Title? No it did not. To me Eric Young is nothing but a Santino Marella who could be in a upper card storyline but not the World Title. And I thought Chris Sabin was a bad World Champion. This is no way will make me wanna decide to watch TNA live instead of NXT (I watch Impact after Superstars on my DVR so I can give my opinion). This is what I'm talking about with what I find TNA to be doing horrible booking, worst than what WWE's been doing, even though WWE's been getting better since WrestleMania season. One thing I find funny, I can't wait for Monday when Don Tony and Kevin Castle talks about this. Kevin Castle especially is gonna have a field day with "his neighbor Eric Young"

Totally feels like a desperation attempt to capitalize on Bryan's Wrestlemania moment. Young will hold the belt for a week or two and loose it back to Magnus or maybe even Abyss. In the grand scheme of things, this will amount to no more than Sabin's Championship win. Quickly forgotten and no momentum gained.

Jarrets promotion is still in its infancy Doesn't matter if you bring a talent like EY he is established wrestler and a good talent. There also making a announcement this Monday. In what bizzaro world is ey considered a good talent? Worker sure but the guy ain't pushin any merch. Tna shoulda capitalizd on the punk void in the wwe by puttin Austin Aries( tna's deliberate version of cm punk) in the gauntlet and then have him win the title that night. That would have been surprising. It woulda refocused the division with someone people can get behind and someone's that's young and as I said might pull in the punk people. But tna's a craphole so we get Eric " I've spent half the year on a fishing show and stripping down to my underwear" young.

This company is flat out lost. They're grasping at straws in every which way.

This company is flat out lost. They're grasping at straws in every which way. I think for the first time since watching tna. I legit hope they shut down. This is worse than the wcw final days. There's a lot of good wrestlers there that deserve better than the embarassment that this company produces year in and year out.

No reason Joe couldn't have beaten him tonight instead of Young. Also, where the is Aries?

King Bálor (CM)™ if you say Eric Young copied Daniel Bryan then Bryan must have copied Chris Benoit since it's the exact story.

Maybe I was a little harsh on creative. I mean look hiw well they built up their champion....babhahahahah:
Guys, to be honest TNA been booking him awesome.. He went over several big names stars since the start of the year, better than that other national tv company booked their new champion
From last to first his last 10 tv/ppv matches before winning the title..
He won a 10-man gauntlet match to open Impact to get his shot.. Samoa Joe defeats Eric Young (5:00) Magnus (c) defeats Abyss and Eric Young and Samoa Joe Ethan Carter III & Kazarian defeat Curry Man & Eric Young Eric Young vs. Samuel Shaw - No Contest The BroMans vs. Abyss & Eric Young - No Contest (5:02) Monster's Ball: Abyss defeats Eric Young Eric Young, Gunner, James Storm, Joseph Park, ODB & Samoa Joe defeat Bad Influence, The BroMans , Lei'D Tapa & Zema Ion (7:32)

It's common knowledge storylines from years past are rehashed from time to time. It's also common knowledge tna copies nearly everything from wwe. It's also one thing to copy your own product. It's bush league to copy and then continuously copy the competion because said company is too lazy and incompetent to come up with their own ideas. I rarely ever seen wcw or wwe copy each other than maybe to poke fun at each other. They always tried to one up the competion, not be just like them.
