Eric Young > Magnus. They booked magnus to be a buffoon the whole time, so its about time they gave someone the title that the audience at the very least is entertained by

So, I'm glad you've all cleared up what it takes to have a run with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship... • Be with the company for a long period of time. Even if you leave for a period of time, to do a television show. • Be nice, when meeting fans. Here I just thought you had to be an ex-WWE talent. Silly me.

Actually using that criteria Daniels and kazarian should both have had runs with the belt. Hell I'll admit Daniels as champion would have drawn better ratings and sold more merchandise (last January when hardy had the belt and couldn't go to the uk)

TNA made a shocking/bad/unpopular decision and people are surprised why? Its freaking TNA, they're known for throwing crap at the wall and hoping something will stick.

I actually agree that Eric Young is a great wrestler. For those saying "Oh, he's been there for 10 years, he deserves the title", well like I used before, Val Venis, Scotty 2 Hotty, Funaki, were in WWE at some point for a decade or more, that didn't mean they deserved a push because of how long they've been with the company. Point I'm trying to make is, though Magnus didn't look like a champion, neither does Eric Young. Eric Young, based on his character, should be mid card at best. I mean basically our main event for Sacrifice is Eric Young vs. Magnus. That's your main event? A comedy character vs. the weakest World (well former now) champion ever? Yeah I was a little interested in buying Sacrifice, but now I'm starting to change my mind. I actually would have rather had Gunner win the World Title since I've seen his improvement and now I'm starting to get behind him, even though I thought he looked dopey in that segment with his dad when he basically didn't act pissed off afterward. IDK what to say about TNA that hasn't been said already.

Poor ing Eric. He finally gets his shot and finally gets his run with the title in a company he's been in for 10 years, and all he'll get is beat up over the fact that TNA tried to pull off a WWE angle. Eric is good, and he deserves a short reign for sticking with them so long, but its ridiculous that his probably only reign with the title will be overshadowed by TNA's inability try to be different. Beating up Eric over it is stupid. It's TNA that made his title win a ridiculous rip of WWE, not him. Good for Eric on getting the title.

Why does he deserve a title run? Other than the fact that " hes been there 10 years." He doesn't have a logical reason. EY deserves nothing. QFT. I love rewarding guys who have been there for a long time. But this is insane. A guy like Zack Ryder deserved to be rewarded for what he was able to accomplish. Why does he deserve a title run? - He has been loyal to TNA despite some embarrassing story lines like being Knockouts tag champ - He is talented in the ring - He can do good promos both serious and comedic - He is over with the crowd; not Daniel Bryan over but he still gets good pops Its just my opinion and you are welcome to disagree, but I think he deserves to be the center of a Cinderella underdog champion story. I just think the timing of this so close to Bryan's WM win makes it all seem cheap. It shouldn't have been EY playing the role of Daniel Bryan in TNA. It should have happened organically on its own timing so it could be the EY story. 1. He HAS to do embarassing storylines, otherwise he wouldnt have a job. He is a poor man's Santino. 2. The only promos I ever thought were even half decent were his stuff in World Elite. He isnt funny...thus his comedic promos are just nonsensical. 3. He is NOT over with the crowd. Last night proved that. As Taz is saying how over he is, the crowd responded with EY Sucks. And thats against the epitome of avergage Magnus. IF....EY got himself half as over as DB.....I would agree. But I very much doubt that was ever going to happen. There is a difference between being over and the crowd enjoying a laugh at your expense as well. I about died of laughter when I heard Young won the title. Then I FF'ed to the end of the show & saw the title change actually happen. There was no more laughter. I blame Christy Hemme. I was thiking the same thing about Hemme. LOL! Can't we just celebrate the fact that Magnus is no longer the World Champion? For however long it lasts ..... Not when the solution was to have EY as champ. Seriously, ODB is more credible. This company is flat out lost. They're grasping at straws in every which way. I think for the first time since watching tna. I legit hope they shut down. This is worse than the wcw final days. There's a lot of good wrestlers there that deserve better than the embarassment that this company produces year in and year out. I dont want it to shut down. But whoever made this call...deserves to be fired. This is the most utter lack of sense I have EVER seen by TNA. EVER. Shutting TNA down puts a lot of guys on the street and I dont want to see that. Lets face it....WWE would be even LESS inclined to sign TNA guys when TNA doesnt even exist. The whole reason to not release WWE talent is so they have no chance to improve their stock in TNA. If there is no TNA, not only would TNA guys be out of work...so would WWE guys. No reason Joe couldn't have beaten him tonight instead of Young. Also, where the is Aries? Joe was originally booked for the show. He was announced for the gauntlet. But MVP opened the show saying Joe wasnt there tonight. I wonder if Joe pitched a fit over this finish. Aries wasnt even at the show. TNA has a great core of talent. Joe, Aries, Sabin, Daniels......all of them make MORE sense than EY. But why even bother with a title change right now? Its not needed....unless Magnus is hurt. And if he is....just go with a safe play and put it on Hardy or Angle. If you have to rush it...put it on Gunner. Have Storm or Anderson take it. There were PLENTY of options and TNA botched it badly. Showstoppers probably just mad ey blows him off when he stalks him at airports and hotels like he does Jeff hardy, the rock, and edge. I actually have met ey once at a tna live event, and he was friendly. I know right. EY is such the mega talent......he cant be bothered at the airport. The Rock is such a small insignificant name and loves it. And then there is Edge, who someone on twitter asked about me specifically, following him around the world and whether it was annoying. And Edge THANKED me and said he always appreciated my support.

I personally never cared for Eric Young and i think it was a dumb move to take the strap off of Magnus. Magnus was doing a pretty good job as a top heel. I'd rather have Aires, Sabin, Daniels, or Kazarian as the top heel though.

I haven't watched this weeks Impact yet, and didn't really read any of the other replies in this thread, so I'm not sure how it all went down or how he won, but I think it's pretty cool. While I've never met the guy before, he used to wrestle for some guys I know up here in Niagara Falls, and I've only ever heard good things about him. I think he's a good worker in the ring, and is pretty good on the mic... it's just unfortunate that TNA has booked him as being a giant goof for his whole time there. That said though, do I think that he's 'world champion caliber'? Not really. But seeing TNA lately and the position they're in I don't necessarily think it's that bad of a thing. They don't have much to loose at this point, so they took a gamble, and hopefully for them and EY it pays off. Even though we all know it isn't, at its core pro wrestling is supposed to be perceived as a real sport, and in sports anyone can beat anyone on any given night, no matter how bad or good they are... preconceived notions of 'this guy will never ever be world champion' shouldn't have to apply all the time. I'm starting to ramble, but my point is that I think it's pretty cool that they at least tried it. He could loose the title next week and I'd be fine with it... at least they got people talking about them again, and brought that 'anything can happen' vibe to their show.

Regardless of what anybody says EY deserves to win the World Title at least once the guy has been nothing but loyal to the company.

Guys. Be happy. It's Eric ING Young. He's busted his ass for the company for 10 years and I'm glad they took the title off Magnus, because quite frankly, Magnus ing sucks.

Woah, TNA made a terrible decision with no thought behind it that ruined everything? Again?
Imagine that.
It's not 2007 anymore.
TNA has sucked for years and years.

I don't think giving a more serious EY the belt is a terrible move. I do think giving it to him after, what, two weeks of a push, is. If this happened in the summer after a few months of making him credible, I could see it working. Still, it's not like the TNA Title means much anymore anyways.

I think he is a intellectually- disabled person.
