Have you checked out The Dark Knight Returns? It's been one of my favorite comics since I was in High School. Old man Batman is awesome! DKR? Yeah I read it in 1994 man(and about 20 times since)........ and I think its a great story. But old man Batman is unsuitable for the movies in my book. also why put old man Batman in the Justice League? it limits the sh*t out of future Bat movies too and makes little to no sense. IMO its a mistake. Hope I'm wrong. They can totally make the Batman movies prequels. It wouldn't take much for Ben Affleck to look younger.. Drop the weight, dye his hair.. BOOM.. He's in his late 20's.

I suppose that's how we would get another Joker movie(which I would be all for)but it all seems very over complicated to me. Ah I'm sure it will all work out. Its just what I was always afraid of when I heard the TDKR influence rumors last year.

I was REALLY excited when I heard WB would be rebooting Batman as part of the cinematic universe and I pictured a Batman in his 30s and physical prime taking part. A proper Comic book batman(unlike Nolans) But now that Im not getting that I'm just disappointed, But I'm probably being too harsh. Its just I always hated the idea of this older Batman in the JL and I still do.

Thinking back to his younger days.. There's more story to tell with young Batman than old Batman.. Plus the new solos Batman films are way off from what I've read.. Far after the Justice League.

Batman will be in his mid 40's in age... So Ben Affleck's real age since he's about to be 42.

Michael Uslan served as an executive producer on Tim Burton's Batman and then each of the subsequent movies right through to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy. Hhe will return in that role for 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and spoke to app.com recently about the reaction to Ben Affleck being case as the Caped Crusader. "We’ve been through this I don’t know how many times already. Every time a director makes a creative, out-of-the-box-thinking decision on casting, it tends to get this. I remember even the ‘Iron Man’ (2008) guys got it on Robert Downey Jr. initially. Of course, we got it intensely when another genius, Chris Nolan, chose Heath Ledger to play the Joker (in 2008’s ‘The Dark Knight’). And it was a huge outcry: ‘How can a guy who just played a gay cowboy (in 2005’s ‘Brokeback Mountain’) play the Joker? You’re going to destroy the greatest villain ever, this is going to be a laugh.’ “So, this has happened time and again, and it happened with Affleck. To go back to the original thought of Bruce Wayne in his mid-40s, I think he’s going to be extraordinary." www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=105768

That would definitely be a big enough threat to bring the heroes together, so I agree, it could work. I'm not saying it will, but it can in theory work. I'm just glad they're not going with Darkseid to blatantly compete with Thanos rising role in the Marvel films.

Shame, considering Thanos is a pretty shameless rip-off of Darkseid. Understandable move though.
I'd love if they went with a story similar to Max Landis' pitch for a "Death of Superman" mini-series.

Thanos is indeed a copy of Darkseid .......but this is what happens when you have a COLOSSAL advantage with a studio owning a comic book company for 30 years and doing f*ck all with it. another company that isn't going to procrastinate over every little thing will take a risk and get their guy out there first. Nobody but WB for WB to blame. It does look like they will get their Namor rip off up first though!!! 2 scripts out there for Aquaman!!

I can't really tell, lol.. But I am stoked to see 'Aquaman' happening.. I've always been very intrigued by his origin, his home. But that comes from my own interest in the depths of our oceans, Greek mythology and such.. Lost city of Atlantis, and I think his father is Poseidon? Anyways I think 'Aquaman' can be one of the top 4 fan favorites in this new DC Universe. And the fact they got a Samoan to play him is just...fitting. It's definitely a shame Vincent Chase didn't get the part though, he probably could have made the studio a TON of money.

But since Thanos is a "rip off" of Darkseid(because Darkseid came first)Then Aquaman(1941) has to be a rip off of The Sub Mariner(1939) because Namor came first!! I do wish they would get off their ass and just announce Momoa as Aquaman already though.......give him long blond hair and he will just walk into the 90s version of Aquaman VERY easily.
