If I like and found the wrestler entertaining I buy it. If they are someone I didn't like or find entertaining I pass. If I didn't enjoy their work there's certainly no reason to have them displayed on my shelves. As for autographs I do have an extra CSDA Piper signed.

My main priority is buying Bret Hart and CM Punk figures firstly.
Then comes the rest of my favorites, where I usually get one definitive attire of theirs and won't buy a new one unless something too good is released.
Then finally, I buy figures of gimmicks I really enjoy eg. The Wyatts and a future Bo Dallas

My main two criteria when deciding whether to buy or not to buy are did I enjoy watching the wrestler and whether the figure looks looks good or not. Lesser criteria are things like historical significance in the business, how good does the figure look, what accessories does it come with, and do I have any figures already of that wrestler (if yes, is this a unique look or boring repaint). While I would like to own at least one figure of every wrestler from 1980 to now, that is rather unrealistic as many wrestlers I want won't be made since they won't sell. That is where my last criteria to buy comes in - can I use the figure to customize it into someone I need in my collection

I just buy the Elites, I decide if I get the fig depending on whether I like the fig or not.

I only get Elites, and almost only Flashbacks, unless its a cool modern era guy who will be a hall of fame type one day. I also try to make it a point to only get one figure per wrestler, unless a super cool version comes out. And I get most of the Ringside Exclusives because they're always legit.

Collect all the elites I like and only buy basics if the wrestler isn't getting an elite figure made e.g Hurricane, Shelton Benjamin, David Otunga, Uso's etc.

I buy a figure only if it looks good to me and every Christian's one since he's my favorite.

Very simple for me I just buy what I like. I've become a little more selective lately because I Collect other lines and comic trades too so mostly elites. I haven't purchased a basic in a long time but will if its one I like
I tend to be a bit more selective with the more high end 1:6 scale figures since they are $130-$200 a piece
At the end of the day there's no real rhyme or reason. I like it I buy it otherwise I don't.

I'm an old school collector primarily, but I do dabble in all eras. Here are my criteria: 1) Did the wrestler/character play significant roles in my mind during the era in which I watched wrestling (late 1989 to 1999)? I would've never put Papa Shango on my want list, but I did have front row seats to a house show where he fought the Ultimate Warrior, so he fits this category, and the next one. 2) Does the figure look cool? I don't care if I know the character or not. If it looks like a neat figure I'll buy him. Rikishi comes to mind foremost. I stop watching wrestling when he was going by the name Fatu (I think). But I like how his figure looks. 3) Is the gimmick cool? Honkey Tonk Man was just a little before my time. He was around but he was about to drop off. However, having an Elvis impersonator in my collection was a must for me. And that's it. If the figure doesn't fit one of these it's a pass. Daniel Bryan, Tully Blanchard, Terry Funk, etc. were/are all easy passes.

Something I realized, I only own three figures of guys who have died. Perfect, NWO Savage. And Yokozuna. I'm currently trying to trade Savage and Yoko. I'm kinda weird I guess but it feels strange to play with a figure of someone who isn't alive anymore. It kinda freaks me out. I'll keep the Perfect because, well, it's Mr. F*ck!ng Perfect! But yeah, I pretty much only get guys who are alive. I traded DM warrior after he passed also. Yep. That's me Kind of weird coming from the guy who's such a "Deadman" fan.

I collect all those in the Elite line, including Build A Figure and Defining Moments. As a result, I have around 10 Cena figures. I used to collect all the Divas too but stopped at Kelly Kelly's second figure since it became a lot harder to find them.

Since I've got a tight budget for figures, I'm very selective. I only stick to Superstars I'm a fan of.

I'm mainly an Elite/Legends/Flashback collector. I only get multiples of the people I really like such as CM Punk, Daniel Bryan. Then I try to get an elite of each wrestler on the roster if my wallet allows for it. I really like getting Elites of people who I think may never get another like Yoshi Tatsu. I had to get him off the Bay after I passed on him at retail.
I also collect as many Divas and Managers I can find at retail. I feel like most of them only get one figure and are unique enough to put into my collection.
If I feel like certain guys will never get an elite then I'll pick up their basic such as The Primetime Players. I usually only get basics for extra parts and head scans.

I am new so im sorry if this has been discussed but i am really interested on how other decide what to collect or not? i see some who grab every figure out there and others who are very selective to elites and also who just collect wrestlers they like. I myself have been collecting mostly elites of wrestlers i like, and some basics. i keep them mostly MOC, but seeing some of your guys collections of open figures definitely got me itching to open a few. Also is getting figures signed a plus or taboo? im meeting Flair in late July and figured i would have him sign his defining moments figure, but i dont want to be that guy. ??
