I buy what I like. I like wrestlers from the 80's to early 90's. Mattel RARELY gives me any of those so I tend to only buy figures who are "first time in line" or the first figure of a guy. Other than that I refuse to buy guys that Mattel releases multiple times a year. Orton, Sheamus, Del Rio, Cena, Punk, Bryan, HHH, Bigshow, all of these guys get multiple releases a year so I pass on them. Sometimes Mattel forces customers to buy these guys when they put them in a BAF line up. So if you want a Heyman Elite figure Mattel Forced you to either buy yet another Cena, Punk,Bryan or turn to scalpers on auction websites.

I mostly go for one of every current talent in WWE and TNA, and if they change their look i'll buy an updated fig. i tout getting figures as a "signing" for my fed and they're usually met with a lot of hype before debuting.

I get the figures I like, plain and simple. A lot of times those happen to be a mix of flashbacks and current guys. Sometimes I will even buy a figure of a wrestler I don't particularly like if it's a really good deal and I like the toy itself.

I have "collections" such as Warriors, Flashbacks, Exclusives. From regular sets I buy the figures that I like. I stopped buying sets like I used to in the Jakks days.

Every. New. Figure.
If it's basic and gets an elite I buy that (Elites are better to play with) i.e. I had b36 Fandango but I bought E27 Fandango
I'm not proud.

I buy the guys I love in Basic & Elite, unless their attires are the same. I won't be buying B41 Bray for example, as it's a combination of his 1st basic & his elite. Yet B41 Fandango is a new attire. The 2 Shield basics so far came in different combinations (Rollins/Reigns then Rollins/Ambrose), so that was fun.
The only 'random' figure I own is Big E's debut figure but that was to do with what happened at the Manchester, UK RAW taping in November last year.

Generally only buy the guys I like but if I think a figure is particularly well done I'll go out of my way. I usually go with elites but try to keep it under $20.

I tend to only collect Legends and some current superstars I like. I used to collect ALOT more, but sold and traded off most of my collection. I kept what I really like and will only buy mainly Legends from now on with an occasional current superstar. My sig picture is pretty much what I have left now.

If it comes with a shiny VAC Championship Title Belt, I'm buying it...and then I'll sell the figure with the box and every accessory (T-shirt, mic, elbow pads, etc.), but without my precious.
