30 year old socially inept reject. The only thing keeping me from dangling lifelessly from a tree is collecting figures.

40 year old that is in the Northwest where wrestling is not that big. My brother and I loved it. Hogan came out and blew the top of the Tacoma Dome. Had to have been about 85 or so. Not really sure. Collected sports figs until Starting Line Up called it quits. Got collecting Jakks figs and then poof, they were done. When Mattel took over, I stopped. Then WM30 Shawn Michaels came out as I was looking for a Cody Rhodes Rumble for my nephew. Now I am hooked and I can shate the love of figures with my nephew and brother.

I am 35, married to a very understanding wife! Started collecting LJNs back when I was a boy, basicly collecting was asking my parents and relatives to get me figures for my birthday-xmas! Collected a few R3s later in life, but then it happened... I went to toys R us and saw a Ric Flair Jakks Classic Series. That was it I was hooked again! Now I realize that was 10 years ago, but there is no stopping it now. I spent a majority of my time collecting jakks figures and doing my own personal fed using a video camera, 100's of my wrestling dvds, and a lot of patience, and looking back, Awesome creativity! I even had Raven and ECW guys do a cruxifiction scene with the godfather being the unfortunate victim! I was only a month into dating my now wife on January 1 2010, when I had to get out of bed early to "run some errands" I was very excited to see what mattel could do with my favorite hobby. I am not disappointed! I own probably a thousand figures, I have all the real scale rings from jakks, except for the money in the bank, (which still makes me be mad at myself) Classifieds anyone??? I would have to say my favorite figure now is Ministry Undertaker from the first comic con with mattel. In my opionion that figure cemented mattel as a major player, and they have not looked back since! After Hogan Sting and Razor pictures came out, it does not look like I am going to stop anytime soon

I'm 16 and I've been collecting figures since I was 8 years of age in 2006. I didn't really collect a whole lot back then just bought random figures which I liked the look of from stores, never paying attention to series' or the major details of figures. Over the years I haven't stopped collecting, during 2007 I got really into the figures and bought tons but then the following two years of Jakks I only bought a minimal amount. Once 2010 came and I saw Mattel at Kmart, I didn't think about buying them because I was not that big into WWE at the time. A week later I went back to the store with my mother and I caved and decided to buy two of the Elite figures, I took them home and was so impressed that I went back the following day and bought two more. The love has continued to this day where I'm still terribly excited over the new figures coming out. Which is tough because the distribution of Elite to Australia is completely non-existent, so I have to make do with the internet. That's my story. I don't see my days buying/collecting figures ending soon, I still have a love for Wrestling and a love for the figures I buy.

Hi! I am 35! Have been a Wrestling fan ever since I was like 11 or 12 years old. Visited my first Wrestling Show in Germany in 1993 and started collecting Hasbro figures at that time too. Ever since I started collecting and stopped again. If wouldn't have stopped so many times, I would probably own some really need figures today How ever, around 09/10 I started collecting again and do ever since. At the top I had about 700 or more Jakks and Mattel figures. For space reasons I sold all my Jakks figures last year and am now down to about 300 Mattels....more to come My wife is really understanding! And for that: 300 Mattel figures Need less space than my other collection: about 300+ t-shirts. For Wrestling itself. After my first house Show in Germany in 93 went to some more house Shows in Germany, Austria and the US, but always wanted to visit a Major PPV. Had already bought tickets for the 08 Survivor Series, but couldn't go. Instead visited WM25 half a year later and since then attended 3 more WM Weekends (WM 26 + 27 + 30). I would say, Wrestling fan for life

I'm 31 and been collecting figs since about the age of 7. The first "starter" figs were LGN's. Had the huge ring and all lol. If I remember correctly, I had Hogan, Bundy, JYD, Billy Graham and I Iron Sheik. Then was WCW Galoob. Great figs as far as the scan I guess you can say. Playability was meh but at the time was cool.
A friend of mine of which I am still friends with showed me the Hasbro's. I had quite a few of those along with the blue ring. Needless to say I did as many kids do and took of with a sharpie lol. I really liked to see the first release of the JAKKS figs mainly because of playability. Sucked they never made a more scaled ring for them. Then the later releases from JAKKS (R3) was when the evolution of wrestling figs was major!
The WCW Toy Biz figs were also some faves of mine. The RA releases were cool but I've always liked the smaller proportioned figs myself. I adapted to RA's and really liked the DA's but there again the size. When TNA figs hit the market with the articulation of DA's is when I really enjoyed playability...minus the figs u got that unexpectedly broke.
When I got sick of the millions of RA's, I found myself not collecting as much nor as often than I was. Time went by and got married. She already had a child which I call mine who was 6 yrs old. I got him in to wrestling from watching it, to video games then figs. Tax check hit and I noticed a dif type of wrestling fig on the shelves at Wal-Mart.
Then is when I purchased Batista w/ a ref shirt along with purple and black Rey Mysterio. I think these were in the Elite Series 1 set but could be mistaken. Since then I have collected a heap of Elite's and very few basics. Many I have lost out on that I would love to have and let them slip away but others I seriously had to hunt for I have.
So, in a nut shell, I to this day at times play with my figs with or without my son. Sometimes as a "test match" for when I'm able to get my pic fed up and running again which I hope to be here soon. Seeing all of these new releases that are hitting shelves and the SDCC protos are already hitting where it hurts so to speak lol.

31 this year and started collecting since 91.
My first wrestler figure was a Hasbro Honky Tonk Man. I have taken breaks in between, and got hooked again when I saw protos for Jakks CS 1.

Skip to Collection story if desired.
------BACKGROUND-----
Born in '88 at Fort Lewis, WA. (26 now) Air Force brat. Always been a good-hearted guy, but a bit unstable. (dad's "loud/violent=right" temper rubbed off on me) Never was stupid, but always been little slow/reluctant. (I'm the type of person to stop and ask questions when I don't understand something. Yeah, I know. Stupid, right?) Been judged basically as weird by many (including my brother and father) hated by others since 2nd grade. (Heck i barely understood myself because of all the B.S. I was fed and the whoopings i got) I was socially awkward early in life and remained that way. Lots of inner/outer conflict dealing with society that others have no problem getting along in. Wore a social mask and kept to myself for the most part. (still do to this day) Struggled through. Gave up on women in senior year. Graduate-class of 2006. Periodically Been in a few other states around the country since i was little. Did some college. Dropped out. Relocated to Oklahoma City. Learned how to work hard, live by myself/pay rent/bills and manage my money...Came back to WA. Job market hustle didn't work for me.
Worked my ass off to get to military basics. Enlisted into the Air Force. Struggled through parts of basic training/tech school but made it. Started having those confusing feelings I haven't had since the age of 5. Got stationed in Dover, DE. Abruptly fell in love with inaccessible Steve Carrel-ish straight guy; Figured out I was gay enough never to f*ck with women again. (very bitter and dry coming out experience since Delaware's gay community is dead and scarce) Grew bitter due to similar inner/outer conflict and people turning their backs on me before and after people finding out about me because I never fit in. I couldn't function. Got counseling. Started collecting ankle injuries. Hit "rock bottom" emotionally, mentally and physically. Did the in-patient thing. Got evaluated and diagnosed as someone with major depressive disorder/anxiety. With all the sh*t i dealt with and people I pissed off for being myself, I actually managed to be honorably discharged after 2 years of service. Not much, but it's all i could take. Getting retirement pay now and planning my next move. Return to college, get therapy, work off 40 pounds of depression weight. Never smoked weed. Developed a very moderate drinking habit. Got a rare opportunity to reach out to gay/rugged former Marine Jeff Key in NY.
I've been handed a few artistic talents since birth...Also was given a unique gift/curse of finding out who my real friends/family are. Some times the hard way. (another gift/curse being my appreciation of beauty) I wear my heart on my sleeve just like Airmen wear their rank. Always been rough around the edges, but always had a certain level of integrity. I say "a certain level" because there is always someone better. Not a stranger to Humble Pie and Shame Sandwiches. Been a loner since the age of 8. Been lonely since around the same time. Very respectful but I have problems trusting people.
-----------COLLECTING--------------
The only thing that has kept me going is the collecting and entertainment value I've developed in wrestling. I'm biased towards Mattel because when i was 3, my first figure was the M.C. Hammer doll. Knowing some of the big names of the 90's due to my brother being a big fan...Taker, Bret, Shawn, Warrior, Hogan and others...Didn't start watching until late '97. I was officially hooked on wrestling when the Austin/HBK feud was at it's hottest point...and the Taker/Kane feud was always my favorite feud. Smelled what The Rock was cooking and Ron Simmons was one of my favorite underrated wrestlers. Kane was the character I could relate to because of the mask of fear I've worn for years. (including staying in the "closet" out of the same fear)
Got and played out the major WWE wrestling albums from "The Music Volume 2" all the way up to "ThemeAddict." I even remake themes I loved from my favorite Era....Collected many figures from BCA (starting with the Austin's "3:16" variant from '97) to R-3 Tech. Then when I saw the Ruthless Aggression series Hollywood Rock and had to get it...Didn't get very many of those, but when the classic superstars line was introduced, I was following closely. I was very pissed when the Kane/Undertaker/Paul Bearer 3 pack came out...but got it anyway because i had an extra Kane head it was a decent update from the original BCA Kane. Even used some financial aid money for my ebay figure habit and had to cut myself off. Got Survivor Series 97 Bret, Sid and plenty others.
When WWE signed with mattel, I wasn't feeling the prototypes but they grew on me. Started myself out easy with a Kane/Austin/Undertaker/Batista. Then laid low for whatever good ones came. Randomly saw the first Rock/Austin set and snatched it for 20 bucks! My personal favorite for the first 4 years of WWE's Mattel deal will ALWAYS be the ELITE 12 FLASHBACK KANE! (Since that one came out, I've bought at least 4...slightly modified/sold 2 of them on ebay. The one i had put in a pre-order for was the best version i got out of them all.) I still keep up with the habit. I cruise ebay looking for good ones to buy. Got plenty of Kanes, Undertakers and Rocks on the shelf. Glad to see the evolution in figures and accessories since '97. Love the Mattel figures because they are very life-like, though some faces are hit-and-miss. The Jakks RA and Mattel figures help me a lot with my drawing when it comes to lighting and other things.
Love collecting. But don't collect a whole lot...that is until last year. And with all these new greats that have been promoted, I doubt I'm gonna stop collecting very soon. I hope I have enough money available to spend on the figures we've seen promoted over the last month. And I will keep collecting...BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY! (hit the NOD theme music.....now)
Well that's my story. I know it will be boring/stupid to many, ammunition for some, but as long as a few people are understanding or can relate, it's cool with me. I'm out.

I'm 31. A wrestling all my life and my 8yr old son has close to 200 figs, some of mine passed down and the rest bought for him.
My wife got me the Warrior elite for my birthday and I kept it boxed. Since picked up a HHH toys'r'us exclusive and CM Punk Ringside exclusive, kept them boxed. That was it, Im now collecting my fave wrestlers and keeping them MOC, as collection grows that might have to change. I got lucky and found some Elites in Home Bargains and picked up Regal, Taker and Edge for me and Bourne, Drew and Sheamus for the lad, which have all already taken more bumps than Dolph Ziggler.
Its an addictive hobby, just pre-ordered the LOD elites. My wife is happy that Im doing this as its something Ive always wanted to.

I am 28 turning 29 tomorrow (Happy Birthday to me! Haha). My grandpa got me and my two older brothers into wrestling when we were really young probably 6-7 years old. We would spend our summers @ his place. During the school year he would record Raw for us and send them to us once a month since we didn't have cable at my parents. I would always beg my parents to get me the Hasbro figures but it never happened since we were struggling. As I got older and my got my own job I started collecting Jakks figs. Never really went over board, just bought the guys I liked or who I felt looked cool. When I had my daughter (10 years old) it really put a hold on my collecting for obvious reasons. However with her getting older and 3 promotions at work later I'm back in the game and have been since about Nov. of last year. Really love what Mattel has done with the line so far, just wish I had jumped on earlier since now I'm hunting for a few I want. My brothers, who are no longer into wrestling, are amazed whenever they come to my place and see my collection. I can tell from the looks on their faces that it takes them back to our childhood. And about once a month my grandpa and I catch up and discuss Raw or whatever PPV was just on.

I am 22 years old, and was born into loving wrestling. As a kid I started playing with hasbros, then Jakks BCA, onto TTL and got into the beginning phase of Ruthless Aggression figs and caught some of the Classic superstars. I stopped unfortunately in high school since I stopped following wwe for sometime, and girls happened...Until 2011 I believe, I remember going to walmart one weekend and went into the toy aisle and I saw DM Ultimate Warrior and didn't hesitate on buying considering I am a big Warrior fan. But I didn't know jakks had lost the rights to ,until last summer when I decided to start my son young just like I did and began purchasing figures for his 2nd birthday. Well, I did my research and discovered all the amazing figures I had missed as I watched some of you share your amazing collections, and I instantly became hooked again. I got a small but pretty good collection going now but I definitely need and will catch up. Thanks for spending time on my post

The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it. ....im 43 been collecting wwf,we off and on since I was little and would watch the WWWF with my grandfather was a huge Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas fan my first live event was at Sullivan stadium in Foxboro mass at the first ever King of the ring won by Don the rock Muraco ...and Hulk Hogan came out to eye of the tiger still..i was hooked for life

I'm 24 years old. My job is auto upholstery, meaning I fix/repair convertible tops, door panels, and anything interior in a car. It's a family owned business since 1946, and I'm the 3rd generation. In the shop, I have 1000s of various colors from cars that we've done in the past. Which is how I got the idea of making aprons. So know it's kinda 2 businesses haha. We do upholstery for many customers, united airline terminal c waiting area, met life stadium upholstered cushions In the luxury boxes, and even antique cars for bvlgari auto collection. I have a girlfriend who I've been dating for 2 years, and she's really kind, and supports my hobby.
I've been collecting since the early 90s. Majority of my old figs are packed away in tubs. I only display my mattels. I love pro wrestling, and I love collecting figs. Never stopping watching or collecting
