Certainly one of the best. Summerslam 92, 01 and 02 comes to mind as being very good but i really think 2014 is right up there with them and possibly a true contender for the best Summerslam ive ever seen. I just cant remember a ppv where the booking was that perfect!

Good show with fantastic booking, but not the best ever. 2002 and 2013 were better, in my opinion.

I'd say it's definitely up there. Last year had some better matches (like the two main events), but also had some awful stuff (Wyatt vs Kane). This year, the main event was one of the most unique WWE title matches ever and the most unselfish performance from a face of the company in that position ever, and made the new champ look like an utter monster, but it wasn't a very exciting match. Ambrose vs Rollins has to be the greatest lumberjack match of all time. Rusev and Swagger were awesome. Brie and Stephanie and AJ and Paige exceeded expectations. Jericho and Wyatt weren't as bad as last month.
I'd probably keep 2002 as the best ever, though.

No. I thought it was pretty decent, there were many aspects that were just alright. Of course it's being overhyped by the IWC because of the controversial main-event. No match was really stellar and eye grabbing. 92, 2000, and 09 were all better in my opinion.

Best? God no. WrestleMania this year was a better show then it.
Compare it to 2002, where was the RVD vs Benoit? The HBK vs Triple H? The Rock vs Brock?

No, not anywhere near as good as 2001 or 2002. Probably just below them.

Many people didnt like the main event but like you said it was the most unique match ive ever seen where you couldnt have imagined the face of the company for so long would go down the way he did to Lesnar. Its been a long time since i enjoyed a ppv like that. Summerslam is taking over Mania in terms of wrestling quality for me. Ive enjoyed the last 2 or 3 summerslams more than the last 2 or 3 manias.

92, 2000, and 09 were all better in my opinion. 09 loses points for having a Cena vs Orton match.

If Cena vs Brock would have delivered it would have been one of the best ever, but Cena vs Brock was total sh*t. Insert Extreme Rules 2012 Brock vs Cena onto that card and you genuinely might have had the best SummerSlam ever. 92 and 02 are still the best ever imo.

Ohhhhhhhhh I don't know about this one.
Last years has a special place in my heart because of how awesome the two main events were.

Ambrose and Rollins definitely stole the show, in my opinion. So much crowd interaction, and very entertaining. I thought the match being a lumberjack match would screw everything up, but it didn't. I'm loving this feud between Seth and Dean.

The same could be said the other way around for certain things. Brock Lesnar just dismantled the face of the company in a bout that was not even close. Where was that booking in 2002? Instead, Brock was built up as The Rock's equal and the two had a very competitive match. Both events were great for different reasons.

No one is disagreeing with you about the wrestling quality in the main event that was obvious but it was so unique and special and the first of its kind where you had the face of the company for God knows how long now get totally descimated, humiliated and destroyed and made to look like a complete amateur. You may well have thought Cena would have gotten beat but im sure as hell convinved NO ONE anticipated the manner of the defeat.

Maybe not the best ever, but I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.
- Ziggler winning caught me by surprise, but a great way to kick off the night. - Paige and AJ had a better match than last month and it's interesting to see Paige win the title. - The Rusev win wasn't all that bad because Swagger still came out looking strong for not actually tapping. - The Lumberjack Match was fun and chaotic considering IT IS a Lumberjack Match haha. Ambrose and Rollins are both great. - Wyatt winning was good and their match was decent. - Brie and Steph put on a better match than I expected. The Nikki heel turn was expected but still provides a good story. - Reigns and Orton started off kinda slow but picked up towards the end. That RKO was sick! - And one of the most lopsided WWE Title matches in SummerSlam, or perhaps, in WWE history. Lesnar is made to look like an unstoppable BEAST. I've never seen Cena destroyed like that before. He got like 2 moves in max.
Overall, a lot of great stuff and makes me excited for tomorrow night.

It was pretty good, but I'd say last years was better than it, along with a few other classics like 02, etc.

Insert Extreme Rules 2012 Brock vs Cena onto that card and you genuinely might have had the best SummerSlam ever. I think it would've been impossible to top the awesome Extreme Rules match, so they went with the story of Brock Lesnar being an unstoppably dominant beast. And it worked. It was unthinkable for a match to go that way because no WWE top guy has ever allowed a match to be so one-sided against them before and take such a beating to make their opponent. Hell, a certain Texas Rattlesnake got asked to lose to Brock once in a much more competitive fashion and didn't know whether to s**t, wind his watch or quit the company. As weak as the match was in excitement factor, it has done wonders for Brock Lesnar's character and made the title scene so intriguing because of his limited dates and because it's almost impossible now to imagine anyone beating him. The story they're telling with Brock this year is great. Heyman tells you exactly what's going to happen, then it happens. Whoever proves Heyman and Lesnar wrong and beats them is going to have a hell of a moment.

I think last year was the best Summerslam I've personally seen. Which is essentially just 2000 to this year. This year was probably my third favourite Summerslam ever behind 2013 and 2002. It was a great show.
