I'm sure most people would agree that the impact and prestige of Survivor Series has dwindled. Ive been thinking and I think Ive come up with a nice idea that would bring some interest back to the PPV.
What I would do is have qualifying matches on NXT and the main shows until we had a team of 5 NXT people and 5 lower/midcard main roster guys.
At the PPV I would put the teams in a match. If Team WWE wins, the survivors immediately go into a match with the IC champ for the title e.g. 2 survivors = triple threat with the champ. If Team NXT wins, then the survivors immediately face off against each other and the winner gets a spot on the main roster. If there is a sole survivor then they go straight to the main roster.
I think this could create some interesting scenarios, for example if you had a heel IC champ he could interfere so NXT win, then he wouldn't have to defend his title. It also shows off more of NXT and makes a Survivor Series match actually mean something, and creates a theme of survival.
Apologies for the long post but I thought it was an idea I'd like to share.....what do you guys think?

This might be the most confusing and convoluted idea I've read on this board today. Why would anyone care about the IC Title, the WWE barely even pushes it as meaning anything.

I'm down for NXT being on any of the main shows. But I think a "showcase" match with the nxt roster and not any of the main roster would be better. But I personally love anything that would add a little "oomph" to that PPV. And NXT would do a good job of doing that.

This is by far the least confusing idea. There is a lot more of the day to go. I'm sure if you log out for a few hours and come back this afternoon, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the amount of head scratching posts and threads.

It's a damn good idea, and I'd be all for it.

I like the idea. It's different and NXT has been a much better product than the main roster lately. I doubt it will happen though.

As long as Orton is in a feud with someone every 5 man tag match is booked.

I like the idea of NXT vs lower-card talent. Winning team is on the main roster, losers go to NXT. That could lead to 5 different redemption stories.

It's pretty meaningless and won't sell any PPVs/subscriptions, but there's no reason not to do it. As the undercard filler, it could be alright.

I'd prefer to just have a NXT feature match that is 5 on 5 elimination. Or even NXT vs RAW match but without the wacky stipulations.

Its not even confusing in the slightest. In fact if this confuses you there may be trouble ahead in your day to day life and routine Back OT....I think this is a great idea. I also like the idea of an NXT team facing 4/5 main roster guys with the survivors graduating. Could be a great way to give guys a rub.

I read through his...err..her posts on here and (s)he is incredibly negative in 99% of h(is)er posts. But thinking more about this topic, I would like to retract most of what I said initially based off of what you typed, Joker. I can see a storyline where the main roster guys can be the "bullies" in terms of not wanting these "new guys" on their show. It'd be a great way to get our heel Sheamus back and for storylines to be built the next night when the nxt team essentially wins.

Even in defeat one or two NXT guys could still look great......going down swinging etc etc. Vince would have to be very careful about the team selection on both sides..... a careful balance is required of who to fire under the bus/guys you want to preserve on BOTH teams.

Hell yeah man. The story could even branch off into nxt. It could draw some damn good heat for the main roster guys to show up on nxt and have them beatdown Zayn, Neville, etc a few weeks before Survivor Series. The possibilities are endless and it'd be nice for Vince to capitalize on the wealth of talent he has down in Florida. I live 4-5 hours away from Full Sail and feel ashamed that I haven't caught a show.

This seems like a good idea, but I wouldn't have any stipulations. Just have it where the NXT team faces 5 WWE midcarders, and you'll have a great match.

I swear, some of the stipulations people come up with are very WCW-esque... but not in a good way.
