I was hoping there would be a good deal on a PS4 but it looks like the best is (full price) with two crappy ass games.

This opening up on Thanksgiving is ridiculous. Its supposed to be a time where you get together with friends and family. Not to go shopping. I wish I could be an executive at one of these companies when this subject is brought up.
I would simply say that "no. We will not be opened on Thanksgiving because I have enough money in my pockets to get by on one day of not being opened".
But that's what America is, unfortunately. Its a business. and if the cash flow is interrupted for a couple of hours, it implodes. For once I would like to see these old timey white men working one of these shifts.
But hell, what is Thanksgiving other than a remembrance of the white man beating their religion into the Natives and cashing in on a sale.
I'm white, BTW and I'm about to fall off of my soapbox. So I'll end my rant right about here.

I still have yet in all of these years to find a deal that is worth waiting in line for on Thanksgiving.

Thank God I don't work in retail anymore. It's been like 12 years now since I' didn't have to work on Black Friday. Now it's even worst because they make you work Thanksgiving day. I' don't see anything that would make wait in line in the cold for black Friday. I usually go later in the day and still find great deals or just shop online.

I'll shop online, but I have yet to ever encounter a deal on something that was worth all the camping out. I wouldn't rule it out if there was an insane deal on something I really wanted, but I've never seen it yet. I agree about camping out, but I just get up a little early and since everybody is doing midnight openings and stuff like that, all the stores are pretty cleared out by 6/7 am and they still have amazing details on blu rays and such. I normally just spend $80-100 on stuff for myself that would probably retail at least for double, probably triple that. I think last year I got seasons 1 and 2 of Game of throse on blu ray for $15 each, when they retail for like $45?

fortunately ive never had to work on black friday
over the last 10 years or so me and some friends have made a tradition of going out. most of the time it was more for the fun of watching the idiots trample over themselves to get that TV for $300 or camera for $100....and it's changed every year. i always managed to get a few things for myself and some other christmas gifts for family on that day, it's been typically worth it for me every year.
the last few years i've started going out about 5AM after the big rush is over. ive still been able to get stuff like blu-rays, clothes, etc that I wanted. and it was still fun to see the mad rush when i truly didnt need to. watching others misery during the holidays makes me happy. lol.
but since these moronic reatilers started opening on Thanksgiving day it's completely destroying the enjoyment of black friday. there truly is no point to it anymore, and even though i live in a state/area that doesnt allow stores to open on T-Day (blue laws) they still do the midnight thing and all the stuff is gone by the time i feel like going out.

I usually go right after I have my Thanksgiving dinner and end up being like the 20th person in line which isn't that bad at all(it was at Best Buy). I didn't bother going last year cuz I didn't want anything. This year I might go just to buy an Xbox One or the Halo: Collection game. Walmart has the best sales and the people there aren't that crazy, and I like that they give tickets so you can come back and get it later. Target is pretty bullcrap with their sales and seeing tons of people go actually amazes me. you must not live where I've lived

I have to work Black Fridays, so if I do any shopping during the Thanksgiving holiday, it is usually on the Saturday. Retailers should do what ShopTNA does and have Black November. Its not like Black Friday deals are any better than those from deals they have in other months.

I have went before but never at 6am, in hopes of picking up a TV or something. Mainly to just pickup toys that were on sale. I will not camp out to get anything, the deals aren't that good. I despise and feel sorry for the people that now have to work Thanksgiving evening for this crap. It is no sense in it. You want to spread it out over multiple days then start Friday and go till Sunday.
I left a couple of yrs back (Thanksgiving night) to pick up a Skylanders game for my Nephew that was on sale, but it was also on sale as a lightning deal on Amazon just wasn't sure of the price. Once it went on sale, same price, got it ordered and I came back home. Amazon makes a point of offering basically the same thing Walmart does for the same price these days so they get most of my money along with BB and maybe Walmart online.

I still have yet in all of these years to find a deal that is worth waiting in line for on Thanksgiving. There was a 50 inch television in the Walmart ad for 200 dollars. You might not want a television but that seems unbelievable to me I remember getting a 32 inch television for that price at Black friday some years ago. It amazes me how they've dropped in price.

Disgusting to see people want deals? or disgusting to see companies force employees to work odd hours?

Disgusting to see people want deals? or disgusting to see companies force employees to work odd hours? The companies are disgusting, the behavior of the people shopping (the trampling, the fighting) is disgusting, all of it.

I just like to go the day after and scavenge the blu-rays. Walmart usually keeps them at the sale price through the weekend.

I work retail, so I usually have to work Thanksgiving anyway. Luckily I'm not forced to work Black Friday in the morning because of the hours I work. I don't think I would ever wait in the freezing cold for hours for a deal. Not worth it IMO.

guardians of the galaxy fans...just got a notice from best buy that their exclusive steelbook went down to $19.99 (available for preorder now at that price)
I'd already ordered it at 27.99 - so thank goodness it's a whole lot cheaper now

The closest thing to that in Australia is the Boxing Day Sales we have, which sees the retail sector implode from people of all walks of life looking for a bargain...after Christmas...
Good luck to my American friends in whatever befalls you on Black Friday...

I'm going to Target & Walmart to pick up a few cheap TV DVD sets since they're $10 a piece. Plus watching people fight over electronics is entertaining to me.

Wal Mart around here is SUPER tame. You just stroll in, get what you want and leave. All within an hour. I will probably head there and grab a PS4 and some games and blu rays. That will be about the extent of it for me.
