I still have yet in all of these years to find a deal that is worth waiting in line for on Thanksgiving. There was a 50 inch television in the Walmart ad for 200 dollars. You might not want a television but that seems unbelievable to me I remember getting a 32 inch television for that price at Black friday some years ago. It amazes me how they've dropped in price. It depends on the brand of the TV too though. if it was RCA or Seki a 50 inch TV wouldn't even be worth 20 dollars because it's just going to crap out on you. Those brands are guaranteed to crap out on you.

I'd never camp outside a store. I went to a Best Buy once in 2012, mostly for the experience, and I ended up showing up there about 30 minutes before they opened. Ended up buying some Turtle Beach X12's for $20 less. Didn't intend to buy anything when I went there, mostly just found something that I wanted and seemed like a decent enough deal.

I think it's horrible. Black Friday used to be fun back in the day but now it's just a mess. People have lost their lives because of this bullsh*t. Now the stores can't even wait until Friday, they have to start right on Thanksgiving. Why? Because they know the mindless masses would be more than willing to skip the holiday family time just to go save a few bucks. It's sad and disgusting. But I blame the mindless consumers just as much as the corporations. If they would just at least boycott the stores on Thanksgiving to show these money grubbing bastards that they care more about their families than material items. Of course that will never happen. The stores have already ruined Christmas and now they're ruining Thanksgiving. The holidays used to bring out the best in people, now they bring out the worst.

They've started trying to get Black Friday to be big over here, but the deals aren't really on the same level as they are in the USA. If they were then I'd try to get involved

Just ordered TWD S1,2 & 4 for $30 off Amazon. They didn't have S3 for $9, so I might have to go to Walmart for that.

When I was in high school, I worked at a KB Toy Works for a few years. I didn't mind BF too much back then. Granted, I saw some crazy things (2 men arrested for getting in a fight over Legos.) Nowadays, it's become crazy. I feel horrible for the people who have to work thanksgiving day. Those people should get to be with their families.
With that being said, I'm not big on going out for the shopping. I did buy a 50' TV from Sam's Club for $298 with free shipping. I never had to leave my house & still got a good deal. I really didn't want to have to buy one, but the one in my living room probably won't last until this time next year.

Up here where I live in Canada we got dumped on last night with 30 cm of snow... it didn't fully register with me how many people are going to say " shoveling" until it actually stops... I made it to Best Buy, picked up some crap and decided " this, I don't need things that bad" and ordered the last thing I really wanted from the sales online which was the complete series of Seinfeld for $44.

Did pretty much all shopping online. Bought some new earrings for $20. Got Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain on PS4 for $15. Got some stuff for my girlfriend and may look into a new phone.

Went to Walmart this morning and got Godzilla and Transformers 4 on Blu Ray for about $8 each and a new George Forman grill for $9. Didn't really do much this year.

My poor girlfriend worked from 10pm Thanksgiving til noon today at her nightmare retail job, so I picked her up, took her out for drinks, and popped in Best Buy afterwards around 3 when it was completely empty. I ended up with Godzilla, Days of Future Past, and How to Train Your Dragon 2 Blus for $10 a pop. That was the extent of my Black Friday.

The stores have already ruined Christmas and now they're ruining Thanksgiving. The holidays used to bring out the best in people, now they bring out the worst. The Holidays still are about bringing out the best in people. Turn on the news, you'll see maybe 20 at most news stories about people having arguments at the stores on black Friday. Think about it for a second, how many people went shopping? Incidents are bound to happen when the numbers are that high. So for every 1 clip you see on the news of people fighting over pantys there were thousands of people who had a nice shopping experience. I feel stores (Mostly Walmart) dont help the matter when they get 100 of the hot item in store and thousands of people show up. I can't understand why stores wouldnt stock up to meet all customer demands. Walmart sold a television for 200 dollars, no amount of inventory would go unsold. I don't want a television at this time BUT if I walked into Walmart the Tuesday following Black Friday, when I know the store wont be packed with people, and I saw the television still available I would buy it. I'd honestly prob buy two or three if I found them at that 200 dollar price. Instead though Walmart will get 100 or so, thousands of people will show up, and the televisions will be gone in less than 5 mins. Im using televisions as an example btw, really it is every hot item/doorbuster that im referring to. Also I'll go ahead and say I feel no sympathy for employees of stores/malls who have to work on Thanks Giving. Years ago I had to work on Thanks giving at a grocery store. The store wasnt having any kind of special sale, it was just business as usual. Police, Fire, EMTs, Radio dispatchers, Airport employees, Truckers, Fleet maintenance workers, Doctors, Nurses, Hospital Staff, all have to work on holidays so why should I feel sympathy for people having to work at Walmart/Target/Bestbuy and so on. If anything all those retail employees prob cherry picked what they wanted before the store was even open to the public. Last I'll say this. It came to me yesterday as I saw different news reports. Doesn't it seem like Black Friday is kind of like the movie "The Purge"? Most of the action occurs when the sun is down. People act up in ways they normally wouldnt just on that one night. And then in the morning we see video footage of the previous nights events on the news.

Think about it for a second, how many people went shopping? Incidents are bound to happen when the numbers are that high. So for every 1 clip you see on the news of people fighting over pantys there were thousands of people who had a nice shopping experience. I would agree with that. The Black Friday phenomenon is taking off here in the UK now and I've seen a fair bit of coverage on it. I've enjoyed watching on the news fools falling over each other trying to get through the supermarket doors to get a cheap TV and people wrestling in the aisles over the same item. Then I read in my local paper today that everyone at the Game store in my town lined up in a nice orderly queue to get their console/game deals. A photo showed many young men just casually biding their time. Whereas it's the 40 year old family people who are fighting in Asda in London and elsewhere. Of course it's in the TV company's best interests to show the near riots and bad behaviour because that is admittedly more fun to watch than well behaved people. So you'll only really read about the good experiences in a local paper. Personally I just stayed in the house yesterday as there was nothing I needed to go out for. An £89 TV sounds nice but I don't need one. You make even bigger savings if you don't spend anything at all.

I got a 60$ pair of sweatpants for 30 bucks. I had a 40 gift card for the store so I didn't even have to spend any money

I got a new phone at Walmart, to replace the one that I cracked the screen on. It actually wasn't all that bad because the Walmart was in a small town. Scanning the Cyber Monday sales on Amazon right now though to try to get at least most of my Christmas shopping done.
